Yeah, yeah "lol no HP" :/

Seriously if Capcom plans to patch this game like BB, Phoenix NEEDS an HP buff, there's just no excuse for having NO health (is your opponent using a combo with 2 or more hits? You're dead. No Healing Sphere and blocking a hyper? You're dead. Are you looking at Phoenix? You're dead.)

...

Still gonna use her :D So everyone better enjoy gettin those free wins off me while they last ~.~

LMFAO!!!

Did she really die from a confirmed Fierce to Super?

She must be Chipp's daughter because her HP is shit!

This video has made my day... Thank You Sir, shitty day has become quite entertaining!

EDIT: Does she have the same amount of HP when she's in Dark Phoenix mode? Because if she does, Phoenix players are gonna be pissed.

Even if they doubled Phoenix's HP, I doubt it would matter. She's gonna die in one combo regardless. It's completely acceptable as long as the rest of her game offsets it. Look at Nu and Carl in CT. Low HP doesn't matter if you kill your opponent before they can hit you.

But if she gets a lol loop... :vbang:

OMG, I hope we don't see this...

BTW; forget my question from earlier, I forgot she loses health in D. Phoenix mode, so the same combo would kill her halfway through... Damn that sucks for Phoenix fans...

I don't mind low HP characters but Phoenix's HP is just dumb, she's powerful enough it's just you aren't allowed to make ANY mistakes ("lol don't get hit" is just dumb guys because this goes beyond having low health) Phoenix is going to need to have some excellent partners that can handle their own and have great assist as well. Luckily Phoenix's charge assist seems to have great recovery, as pretty much as soon as the move ends she taunts (which of course makes assist invincible) however it can be stopped by projectiles and doesn't help that it brings her hitbox forward. Also you can't afford to whiff Phoenix Rage as it actually leaves you open. Since you start out the round with 1 bar if Phoenix is your starting character I recommend activating Healing Sphere ASAP as it'll be needed to help with your low defense, it last about 15 seconds which should be about enough time to build up another bar to have when your first sphere depletes. Phoenix (mine anyways) will be all about Healing loops, won't worry too often about ending a combo with Phoenix Rage unless I have a really good lead).

Also teleports, X-Factor, Snap Backs, Cross Overs, DHC to Healing Sphere, DHC from Phoenix Rage to another hyper (just to tag her out), and Healing Sphere negating DPM's health drain = w= Seth called her a rushdown character and while she has the moves to do so, she's going to need to play a bit more keep away

Laugh now for we shall soon show you all the power of the Phoenix Force!

Just noticed that the game's battle designer is Hidetoshi Ishizawa (as previously hinted by Seth).

That's a load off my shoulders. His systems have always been pretty fun, filled with shizz that could be considered to be broken as heck (A3 V-ism, CvS2 A-groove, 3rd Strike, MvC2) but still fun and competitive as heck.

Fireball + teleport mixups. Of all the characters, she seems the one best suited to take advantage of the Absolute Guard glitch that creates nigh unblockable cross up setups when your opponent uses Advancing Guard.

Hoping every character has something that is broken as fuck. . . . .then everyone will be used. . . . .except ryu of course :v:

I think she has slightly more life in DP mode. I saw a video where she died in a few hits, resurrected, then Hsien-Ko hitted her a few times but she still didn't die.

I don't know why we are calling it a glitch, but from what I know Advancing Guard removes Absoloute Guard, making your opponent much more easily crossed up.

An example would be where your opponent Advancing Guard's Dormammu's Stalker Flare Hyper, after which you teleport behind them, and if they do not perfectly time switching the block direction they will get hit.

Are there any applications of it besides projectile -> teleport? It seems to me in recent videos that in some instances AG is not as strong , like it seems sometimes that gatlings prevent most of the pushback.

The main reason you need a long lasting projectile/assist and a teleport is due to you being able to be AG'd from projectiles, so you would need something to cover the screen in a very short period of time. Of course there are possibly other ways of taking advantage of it, but those will need to be tested once the game comes out.

AG's push back is partially negated by attacks that move your character forward (ie; Zero's 6C), but against most normals (and even projectiles in some cases) it will cause fullscreen pushback, and it requires no real timing, so it is actually really powerful, but seeing as it can be baited (either by not attacking or doing the aformentioned "unblockable" setup), it cannot just be mashed out.

One important point to note is that when she teleports above her opponent and does her dive kick, the resulting cross up seems to be ambiguous as hell. You can see in a few vids where the teleport seems to turn the other character around (indicating a cross up), but the dive kick hits the opponent as if he weren't crossed up.

its the total roster until they decide to add more chars via dlc

Well, if that's the case I'll probably wait on this till Strider hits (hoping beyond hope that he does). I got more important games to worry about this year anyway.

"Original" probably means they'll speak in their original langauge. In particular, with series like DMC, Resident Evil and VJ, the characters will speak in English because even in Japan, the characters in those games speak in English (except for Battle Carnival for the VJ series, but that was made to promote that failure of an anime so it doesn't matter either way).

Not quite sure why Haggar is "originally English" but whatever.

Maybe because he's an American character? idk <.<

Anywho, I made these because I was stuck inside today due to snow, and I like fiddling around in Photoshop...

my primary team of choice, I've decided to nickname it "Bitches and 0's" until further notice, lol

my secondary, more "for fun" team, that can hopefully still tear ass: "Laser Claws"

bah, Imageshack resized these things WAY smaller than I made 'em (they still look pretty high res full-screened on my 22" monitor)

No real point to them, I'm using the second as a BG on my comp now, just figured I'd show 'em off I guess <.<

Edit: Might make a third with Dorm/Trish/Hsien Team "Piss off my friend" (he HATES when I use zoners xD). They only took me like 10 min a piece anywho...
