KatanaDash Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 should we make a tourny results thread for this season's ranbats? or just post all the results in this thread?
Crosell Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 D: I probably will! anyway, it was fun. Either I need to get a PS3 stick or I need to start ninja-ing 360s into tourneys. I don't like asking people if I can use their shit, lol. Part of why I left. And next time I need to body my way onto a mic, fuckers need to stop hogging that. Anyway, Orion/Copperdabbit, awesome to meet/bullshit with you guys. You are chill dudes. Rin, good shit with the stream/eventual BBVlog stuff. Immortalizing scrubbiness 4eva, hell yes. Thanks to everyone that let me use your sticks (no homo). Shoutouts to the dude with that weird white madcatz stick that left it lying there for like 4 hours and then came for it -right- when I picked it up to use it and looked like I was jacking it or something. That was pretty awesome. Now back to working on execution so I can hopefully get at least 1 full combo next time. Maybe. Possibly. Or just flail around like a retard, that could be my thing. Edit while waiting for 10 minutes for a match online, go matchmaking: Why isn't everything in the iplaywinner archive? =( Nate just dual mod your 360 stick. I did using the Chimp board. I've been testing it out with Blk_mage on his ps3 and it works flawlessly. Hit me up if you need advice on it.
Dacidbro Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Yeah I was moderately upset you left without saying goodbye again Nate, especially since I was going to help you with your execution
natearistata Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 lol sorry, I really don't have any excuse for it, but you were busy and I'm bad at interrupting people, I always feel like a dick =(

Spirit Juice Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 David, you should try to make it to the mini-tournament in Davis on the 16th. Need to get some casuals/more play time in since two games wasn't nearly enough for me to figure out that match up. lol~ also shout outs for doing a combo for 1 hour and almost getting it like 5 times but fucking up the very end due to brain farts
Dacidbro Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 lol sorry, I really don't have any excuse for it, but you were busy and I'm bad at interrupting people, I always feel like a dick =( Well next time do it, you're part of the community, when you leave without saying goodbye everyone goes "wtf happened" :8/: Spirit juice, definitely. Lol. I have way more ragna exp than you do Bang. ^_^
Dakanya Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 ok now that ive got some sleep but still feel pretty catatonic thanks to chun for organizing and running everything shoutouts to people who dont know how to turn off streams (make sure you stop adobe FME as well) obviously we need more stream techs i guess... maybe i should put this easycap to use so i can learn how to do this shit but oh wait adobe fme doesnt run on linux yet iirc... darn mmmm ok im too lazy to do anymore shoutouts or thanks so i'll start talking about the next nci in the case that it is a yes, we can have it at SJSU again... actually scratch that, the idea i just had was a bad idea now that i've given it second thought ok whatever i need to do homework all day now
TaoFTW Posted October 3, 2010 Author Posted October 3, 2010 Shoutouts to me for not caring, but event looked successful. Edit: How much did you all make from the venue fee and who is holding onto the money? Our goal is at least 1k.
OrionXElite Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Shoutouts to me for not caring, but event looked successful. Edit: How much did you all make from the venue fee and who is holding onto the money? Our goal is at least 1k. I love how you "don't care" yet you still are oh so actively involved in planning some of this stuff even though its rather passive :3
KatanaDash Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 NCI venue fund took in 84 dollars, I've got dat cash
Dacidbro Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Oh, my only other shoutout, thanks for the advice in GG Katana, it was always immediately useful.
Mystic d Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Shoutouts to: CopperDabbit, thanks for being supportive and for your advice. I'll continue practicing and hopefully someday make it into top 8. Congrats on the win. Dacidbro, thank you also for the matches and the advice. Also shoutout for the top-tier commentary. You're as cool as everyone says you are. Keep doing what you do and "Be a Bang!" TaoFTW, for showing up in your free time and giving me a lot of helpful advice for Tao. I'll keep at it, especially those hit confirms. OrionXElite, for the casuals and the hilarious comments at Dacidbro during grand finals. Rin and Tsubasa, for always keeping the hype going with the streaming/recording. Looking forward to seeing the matches on the BBVlog. Coopa, for amazing defense and reset gimmicks. It's always awesome watching you play. Chun, for setting all of this up and making it happen. Thanks everyone for the games and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone next month
Spirit Juice Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 David, if you want to learn Sol, I can always teach you.
Dacidbro Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 If I want to go somewhere to learn Sol, I learn from Honnou, kid.
natearistata Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Oh, can't believe I forgot. Shining Aquas, thanks for giving me a badass stream match, even though we both screwed up left and right. =D
Spirit Juice Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 If I want to go somewhere to learn Sol, I learn from Honnou, kid. Rodrigo's Sol is gutter trash, yo.
Dacidbro Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 The most important thing I need to learn about Sol is his combos, and Honnou can certainly teach me thems
Aginor Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Shout outs! Spirit Juice - for being a fag and capping entrants to 32! jk It's all good. Coopa - for getting hit by run up overheads. lols I feel so out of practice after I played you. Chun - Thanks for all the hard work you've put into this and overseeing the events. And thanks for getting me some food to eat from Hoagies! CopperDabbit - for getting 1st place again. Gratz yo. Dacidbro - for being not free but you're only worth a penny. Dakanya/Tsubasa/YAT/Tenkai/Tone - helping me learn MB. It was so much fun playing the game even though I got bodied. GGs. I look forward to playing you guys again. I wish more people played. Kelvin - thanks for doing random miscellaneous stuff for me! Rin - for thinking he entered the tournament but really didn't! Make sure you talk to me or Scott once we get there about signing up. lols And recording footage.
Spirit Juice Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 The most important thing I need to learn about Sol is his combos, and Honnou can certainly teach me thems Actually, the combos are the easiest part about playing Sol. He's actually a really hard character to play when it comes down to it.
KatanaDash Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 GG bracket results, scott lets put these results into the first post the original NCI results thread. Could you also place a link to the results in the first page of this thread. Gonna upload a copy of the actually brackets in the next minute or so 1: Honnou ($39.90) 2: ZeroXOZ (Magz) ($11.40) 3: ehuangsan ($5.70) 4: [TRM]tenkai-45i[xTF] 5: Sum Ting Wong (kijiyama) 5: Spirit Juice 7: Shining Aquas 7: legz legz legz (dakanya) 9: 2GBCombo 9: Tsubasa 9: I am the best potemkin ever (buzzsaw) 9: KatanaDash 13: qwerty 13: dacidbro 13: Tone 13: CopperDabbit 17: NightAngel 17: YAT 17: gomi-ino bracket Also in the future I don't think I will let folks enter under troll names, it actually makes more work for me!
TaoFTW Posted October 3, 2010 Author Posted October 3, 2010 I love how you "don't care" yet you still are oh so actively involved in planning some of this stuff even though its rather passive :3 I just actively troll - nothing more or nothing less. NCI venue fund took in 84 dollars, I've got dat cash Kijiyama said it costs $5k to rent the ballroom for two days. So we are now left in this predicament, 'Do we want to host a semi-annual event or keep NCI to the local FG community... ...or just abandon the scene altogether.'
RinHara5aki Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Just to let you guys know NCI matches will be delayed. My home network is down. Just as frustrated as you guys are.
