Chun Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 It's looking like November 6th is a go, organization as usual is appreciated, KatanaDash if you are reading, please prepare an equipment checklist form as before, it really helped a lot in the planning last time, thanks for doing it. Still figuring out the venue fee situations. In recent concerns for exposure time from the GG and MB scenes, I'm currently working out a general schedule of display time windows so that BB doesn't overwrite most of the tournament. More info on that later this month.
RinHara5aki Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Lol guys i found some lulzy pics check it out :333 CAN'T GET MORE HYPE THAN COOPA AND HYPEDOG da setup wires everywhere KOOGIEMONSTER John at work :3
Crosell Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 That dog was awesome. He loved his water bottle
STenSatsu Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 NCI has generally always just been the first weekend of the month as long as a venue was available and such.
KatanaDash Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Glad to hear the date is the 6th, as I will be out of the country the rest of the month! I will make the equipment registration list later tonight. For this NCI lets do 1 casuals room and 1 tourny room. Also I think we should start all 3 tournies at once. Yes I said all of them at once. the reason being.... to increase cross game exposure. Players will not show up 2 hours early to watch gg or mbaa, or enter it for fun if they are planing to play in one of the later tournies. Overrule me on this if you must, but I think it would help give all the games the exposure they want, and I don't think it will rape our organization any more then it already does. (because as scott said last time, this is basically what happened last time anyway) An other possibility to improve organization is to remove all casuals untill all of the tournies hit top 8. Just throwing ideas out here.

Chun Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Actually, the current idea is to checkerboard setups across all rooms. BB GG MB, BB GG MB, then other room BB GG MB Poverty, to increase exposure and mingling across games. Also there's my idea of doing like Evo stream; Reserve a time for top 8 finals across all games, and reserve certain time slots before top 8 for respective games and whatever tournament match is happening at the time for that game. This is offhand, I'll have a final schedule by next week. Thanks again Katana. ~Chun
Spirit Juice Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 The problem with streaming top 8 is that these are relatively small tournaments. For example, last NCI's GG was only 17 people. Streaming top 8 in a 17 man bracket is kind of eh......... Also, who is going to run GG while Jake is gone?
KatanaDash Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I will make it to this NCI on the 6th of November, and be back the 2nd week of December, so I should only miss one NCI. and yeah Qwerty has got my back. Also Tenkai and Kijiyama have been helping me out with the brackets when needed, so I imagine they can back qwerty up also.
blk_mage Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Are people brining equipment suppose to be required to bring Melty?
Honnou Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Wait, so it's the 6th....ffffffffffffffffffffffffff free money for AJ if I can't go
KatanaDash Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Are people brining equipment suppose to be required to bring Melty? ops, fixed it!
Coopa Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Wait, so it's the 6th....ffffffffffffffffffffffffff free money for AJ if I can't go Oh, man. You're going to cry when you're not there this time...
blk_mage Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 So I said I can bring equipment, but I can't 100% guarantee I'll be there until a week before due to bad Gamestop's crappy work scheduling.
KatanaDash Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 I will remove you from the list untill you can confirm you can bring equipment.... or I will mark you tentative or something.
Coopa Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Oh, boy. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Haunts cannot make it to NCI on Nov 6th. That weekend is going to be rough with a lot of events happening all at the same time, and I'm sure that's already well known.
Dacidbro Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Why didnt we schedule this for the 13th when we found out that every tournament and it's mother was on the 6th..
Dakanya Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 thats ok i guess it just means we may miss out on getting ourselves streamed on ipw? we can still have our own stream and i dont see why we should coordinate our tournament around other tournaments
blk_mage Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 This just means there's a better chance I can actually make money if I go :P
natearistata Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 thats ok i guess it just means we may miss out on getting ourselves streamed on ipw? we can still have our own stream and i dont see why we should coordinate our tournament around other tournaments because it's easier that way? especially against a gigantic tournament like SoCal regionals?
Dacidbro Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Yeah, I mean.. there's just going to be like no one there for BB.
Aginor Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 There will be people there. It'll be more like, Donate to the Spirit Juice EVO trip fund. But maybe not, depending on whether or not Scott decides to scrub out to somebody. ;|
Dakanya Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 no one there??? you guys had a full 32 man bracket last time and scott capped it so that more people couldn't enter. i fail to see why we need to coordinate our events around other tournaments. all it means for us is that our top players that can afford travel won't be there for their local event and instead they will be representing us at another event. if they do well then they may even create incentive for other players to come visit us. nci is something that has always been the first saturday of every month and changing the date is something that inconveniences several people.
