PandaKingEX Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 You can definitely do all that stuff in the english version. I figured out how to do all that kind of stuff on my own. Me and the others were messing around with this stuff, and we found out all kinds of crazy things you can do. Bel Canto also has some interesting "out of bound" points, where you can step on them, and get instantly teleported back to your masterghost. Free bye-bye ftw. I made a video as well with some high damaging sol combos I figured out, and some of them are 100% combos. The combos start at 0:43. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RmJGNRePIc&feature=channel_page
Zazz Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 how exactly does the escaping out of the map work? i just wanna look around the survival area because it looks HUGE while having only a small playable area i keep trying the combo in the vid but i just can't wing it
Ayumu Gardevoir Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 Panda, and you thought that Sol wasn't the best at fighting. Zazz, dun worry, I can't do that either
PandaKingEX Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 I wouldn't really say stuff like this makes him the best fighter at all. The only time Sol can really even excel in combat is when it's a 1vs1 situation, but nobody that knows what they are doing is going to randomly stop in the middle of nowhere and have a 1vs1 against Sol, unless it's a part of their strategy. how exactly does the escaping out of the map work? i just wanna look around the survival area because it looks HUGE while having only a small playable area i keep trying the combo in the vid but i just can't wing it You just have to jump high enough to get over the wall. Certain walls only go so high up, so with Valentines ability to double jump, you can get over these walls. I never tried it in survival, but in bel canto you can do it pretty easy by running down the staircase in the tunnels on the side of the stage, and jumping when you're near the bottom, and then going into the jump, dash, jump, dash, melee setup to get over it. I might make a video later. I had actually planned on making a video to show some tricks and glitches for a while now, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet.
Ayumu Gardevoir Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 I don't know... AJ can hold his own in a Masters 2v1 as Sol pretty well.
PandaKingEX Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 That's because AJ is good, and Sol is his best. Regardless of tier position, player skill is what is most important.
Ayumu Gardevoir Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Ya I know lol. and tell Xithmos and AJ that my Xbox is "Temporally busted" so to speak, so I won't be getting on for about 2-3 days.
NeoVid Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Man, there is no information at all to go on online when it comes to this game... Gamefaqs has nothing, and when I was trying to find things out in preparation for getting it, I couldn't even find the basics, like how many levels it has or what has to be unlocked. So, what does it take to get the Holy Knights level? It's the only thing that's still locked for me. Hope it's not anything tough... this game's singleplayer is nightmarishly hard.
Adelheid Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 You have to purchase the Holy Knights level. It is DLC.
Ayumu Gardevoir Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 You have to buy that level. Most no body plays that online anyway, so usually you can just play it in single player. Same with Raven, but if not everyone has him online, then you can still use him. Edit: Damn you Stark...
NeoVid Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 That's really annoying... why even show that level on the list when it's not really in the game unless you pay for it? I knew Raven was DLC, but had never heard about anything else being DLC for Overture.
PandaKingEX Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Mostly everyone online has the holy knight stage, except for the people who go online once, get owned, and never play again, so it's not really a waste to get, if you plan to spend more than 10 minutes playing online. It's a really hard map to play on though, and it's not all that special either, it's just that after you've played several hundred matches online, it's nice to have an extra map pop up in random select every now and then. and yeah, information for this game is scarce, but me, and all the other english speaking regulars post on gamefaqs frequently, and always answer any questions that we can. I know pretty much everything about this game myself, and I've always wanted to write some type of guide for it, or make some video tutorials, but I just never have the time, or dedication for that kind of stuff. I really wish I did, though, since I love this game like no other game I've ever played, and I think many other people would as well, if there were some good guides, and such to check out.
bjholmes2 Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 There was a ton of work put into making the online multiplayer of this game. I almost feel sad that it's not very popular. On that note, I wish I had access to said multiplayer...
Ayumu Gardevoir Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 I know pretty much everything about this game myself, and I've always wanted to write some type of guide for it Not until you realize that Sol IS the best fighter.
PandaKingEX Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Sol becomes a whole lot easier once you start sidestepping, and stop letting him hit you until your guard breaks.
Ayumu Gardevoir Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 I try to dash out of the way, but you or AJ always outsmart me and I side step right into another attack :\
PandaKingEX Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Today I just beat the crap out of Hirokosuke's Sol with my Raven. When I'm rocking one of the best players in the game when he is using Sol, then it's clear that Sol isn't the best at anything. I think people are just too afraid when fighting Sol, because Sol has such an aggressive fighting style. You just have to keep your cool, find an opening, and take advantage. Sol has no range either, which means that pretty much every other character in the game can zone him hard, especially when servants are around. You can even stand behind a ghost, which makes it hard for Sol to get to you as well. That's like the best thing to do with Paradigm, is to just strafe around a ghost while throwing bombs and apples. edit: I see you're little quote there, Ayumu...
Ayumu Gardevoir Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 :3 I couldn't resist, that match was too good. and plus you're PandaKing. Best American player ever. Of course you won x3
NeoVid Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Unfortunately, no broadband at home for me. Whenever I can get it, I'm likely to get Live right away, and I'd like the DLC for Overture. And you know, I have been thinking about collaborating on getting a FAQ done for this game. Since most of the best information I've found about it comes from posters on this thread, it could work out.
PandaKingEX Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 I've noticed a large surge of new players popping up, and I don't want them to get owned and give up on the game, so I'm trying to help them out, but it gets tiring teaching each person one by one, so I'm probably going to whip up a real quick guide, and some basic combo videos for them to look at.
Cantido Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 I'm making a Game Script to put on GameFAQs because I was having trouble finding one and have never made a FAQ before. I finished the main campaign and will add Lore later. This shit is not easy. I tried to upload it, but I think I have to fix some formatting errors. The fact that some people are playing online has me exited to try it. Are mp3's anywhere as well? The new characters are great. I thought Valentine was going to rape sin at one point..
Ayumu Gardevoir Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Valentine is awesome, but I can't play her without feeling like a Brutus/Left X Spammer. lol
