ontopic, Can someone clarify the buisness on ragna 5D? So its like, 5D doesnt knockdown on standing opponents? but it would work the same way on opponents being combo'd outside of standing state?

2C > 5C gatling added. Not bad, it sure beats gatling into 6C or special canceling against airborne, barrier blocking opponents. Ice Car B getting the knockdown, it's not a necessity but it is a welcome addition.

I kinda feel bad for Hakumens and Bangs, well, not so much for Bangs. Hakumen not being able to follow-up off j.D seems like a heavy nerf bat blow. Not being able to use 623Bs for combos will hurt Bangs pretty hard. As for Ragna, he kinda deserved that ID nerf, Jin and Litchi had their DPs heavily nerfed so now it's Ragna's turn.

J.D can do terrible terrible damage, it's true. But I can live with it. The reason being is that any time you could grab someone with a J.D you could just use hotaru instead - and get more damage (fatal counter) and a longer wall carry combo if needed. The thing is that pressing one button is easier and J.D takes 0 meter to execute. So it's not really that big a deal.

No news on Mu? Does she have to be unlocked in BBCS2 Arcade?

Ragna nerfs are kind of expected, though some of them like ID and gatling changes are weird. It doesn't sound like he got hurt that bad from what we have so far at least.

Rachel j2C cancellable into normals again? Is this only on hit? Or do we have crazy CT j2C back again? O_o

While still very, very good. Rachel's pressure would be significantly worse now that the guard libra is gone, so I don't think the old j2C would be near as broke.

anyways, Ragna's 3C>5D allowed him to easily do an air combo that AFAIK was better than on a not grounded (standing/crouching) opponent because of it's untechable time (since they're technically in the air), so now it doesn't do that. I assume that means he can't continue a combo off a grounded a opponent with 5D, which is only possible from 5D (to my knowledge), so it's like a 3C without nerfing 3C.

okay serious thoughts:

ragna nerfs seem completely unnecessary. ragna is a solid character and atm doesnt really need much.

bang nerfs are extreme, but unless they pull a rachel here i doubt hell remain shit.

tager lololololol they'll never make tager good so whatever.

noel: instantly has become the most brainless character in 2 changes, i love it.

most character changes seem reasonable.

Chipp doesn't do great damage. He does however have amazing mixup, and all his damage leads to more guessing games, and while he's not a *great* character, he certainly does pretty well.

Chipp doesn't do great damage???? Uhhhhhh....I guess you've never been hit by a real Chipp combo sir. Say goodbye to 40-50% life unless you're a high defense character. And don't unnecessarily compare BB to GG. Bang never played like Chipp and never will.

i hope that they add an armor efect like potemkin [4]6HS to his 2D

and yeah, im worried to because mori seems to like gimmicks and not solid gameplay like ishiwatari :v:

i like bang's nerfs, its seems very similiar to CT bang.

except 5A isn't unuseable anymore and people will complain about it.

edit: yeah taokaka is much closer to chipp than bang is.

when it comes down to it henaki is right, tager will never be good.

why? because the developers doesn't want a grappler to be good in this game.

if this was any other fighter the grappler would be decent...not BB man never BB.

scrubs wouldn't like that because grapplers are cheap.

actually tager would probably be the most unfun, lamest grappler to play against if he was S, im actually okay with him being low A or something but thats about the best tager should ever be.

I think most of Tao players here in dustloop don't care too much about taunt loop nerf at all...just give her some small buffs (more HP is fine too) and it's okay.

So it would seem. A lack of substantive changes would seem to indicate that the developers either think the design is fine as is OR that they don't care that it isn't. Neither option is particularly encouraging for meaningful changes coming out of this patch.

actually i just think no one really played tager, they're waiting on something, or they have no idea what to change.

I can't argue with that, I'm just sick of winning because my game winning gimmick is mashing 720 while being hit.

I don't know how to feel regarding Ragna's DP, but, I was kinda sad when Jin lost his ability to use 5C after his 623C counter in CT...he can still use Fubuki>D Musou in some situations, but that's not the same.

If you ask me, everyone could use a combo followup from DP...at least on counterhit.

5D reduced invincibility frames

1) 2C>5C is a pretty useless gattling, sure, 5C is jc on hit, but really, hitting people with 2C is even harder than hitting them with 5C to begin with.

3) one her only couple of decent tools gets nerfed, and its most helpful quality is the one to get the hit

2) is now useful? ok so it can make for fake/true cross-up mixups probably, u can't even see her falling.......

I don't know nerf or buff, depends massively on how good j.4D is now. If it's as good as it sounds in that quote that you cant even see her falling, then she has an actual mix-up now, but her main issue is still there, her normals are still fucking terrible. ASW is still ignoring the fact that decent players dont actually feel like being in a state where u can't fucking block 90% of the time, it's like they really want her gone from the tournament scene, forever bound to the console-only players who find it actually fun to just spam 1 button and rely on lag. I see her remaining to be just as retarded as she is now, if not even more retarded, largely depending on that j.4D.

But should he get 2.6-3.5k damage, and huge meter gain. With just the heel drop he will do 1k, but more importantly, it get's the opponent the fuck off of you. That's what DP's are for. The change brings it in line with the games other DP's and you can still get big damage with a CH or RC.

I'm guessing they're trying to coax Bang into the following game plan with the following changes

>use nails to get in

>mix up, pressure, combo into knuckle which puts them on the opposite side of the screen (If 623B doesn't wallbounce and no one said it wallslides, it probably just pushes them back to the other side of the screen)

>Set up bumpers on the other side of the screen to make getting in a bit easier next time, as well as expand Bang's mixup options

>40 GOTO 10

Also for Makoto, JCable seems pretty useless since you can 5B-6A into combo anyway, and she doesn't really have any good downward normals for aerial pressure either. What are they thinking, exactly? :psyduck:
