kirbster Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 If the opponent slides away, I'm pretty sure the frog won't be able to get to him/her in time to activate before they can tech, or that Rachel will have enough time to run up, plant a lobelia while the frog is zapping and continue the combo. Besides, lobelia recovery has been increased... Remember, the first loketest changes say you gotta combo with C lobelia and 3D... that means the opponent will have been sent about half a screen away.
tofurr Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 It'd be nice to see some videos of her from the test, here's hoping for the final one we get that.
unsanctifier Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Well right now, we don't know how far the slide is. Also, we don't know if 5CC auto slides like a 5CDC does, there seems to be confusion there. Man videos would be great
Sindelian Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 We'll just have to wait and see then. I really hope they work, frog combos were my favorite =-/
Shugotenshi Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 With all the Rachel buffs, I'm surprised there aren't any videos up <.<
Tari Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 So are those changes on the first page the latest ones? Haven't really been in the loop for a while (or played the game for a while), and then I come back here and see a list of absolutely ridiculous buffs. Though, removing Tempest Dahlia is just funny to me. C'mon, I used it as a reversal against Tager's, uh... 5a? once! So useful! And I personally like giant King George.

Nobody knows what Rachel is like in the latest test. There are no videos and no news of changes. Also I think TD is still in. Last I heard it was way faster and didn't eat the wind meter.
Tari Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Yay, even King George gets buffed! But seriously, that first list sounded a little ridiculous, haha. Thanks for the info.
TD Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 TD is still in... Also no one really plays rachel = no vids. Here's to hoping MSY comes to his senses. Challenge mode will likely change also with everyone being patched, it will be much easier to find out day one.

Though, removing Tempest Dahlia is just funny to me. C'mon, I used it as a reversal against Tager's, uh... 5a? once! So useful! And I personally like giant King George. This is the most up to date list we have so far: + Overall damage increased. + j.A is an overhead again. + 5C>C now slides. Mid screen C lobelia>3D> Sword iris/BBL combos. In corner 5C>C>3C can be done for 2 loops. + 5B>2B possible. + 6B>6C possible. + 6B on counter slides, untech time decreased, jump cancellable on block. + j2C can be canceled into attacks on landing and is jump cancelable on landing (both on hit and block). + Wind increases the speed of her air dashes. + Tempest Dahlia is stronger, faster, can be connected from 5b, and doesn't consume wind. + Pumpkin is much faster, can reach the other side of the screen in an instant, and received an increase in attack level. + 6A went from CT status from the first test to CS status to the second test, but was buffed again (unknown if it's back to CT status) in the third test. + 3C hits higher now. + 6C forces standing. + Wind affects movement more. − Wind recovery is really slow at first but once it gets going it recharges fast. − Lobeilas come out even when hit, slower recovery. = j.A > j.2C won't connect, but j.B > j.2C does. = George has been changed somehow (there's a frog gauge now). ? 2C hit stop increased. Some of these things could have changed though since we didn't get any info on her in the 4th test.
Tari Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Well, here's to hoping her buffs carry all the way through. That still seems like a whole pile of buffs, though. Hello nearly-CT Rachel?
unsanctifier Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 So, whats the consensus here? Will we have to change a lot of our game plans? Or is it like, generally the same, with a few more buffs. (Excluding our lack of knowledge on how 5CDC works now...which is sort of a major...)
TD Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Combos seem to end far away which discourages rushdown, except in the corner where Rachel always shines. They want her to not be complete rtsd a la CT or complete zoner a la CS. Now we'll all have to use both qualites of her effectively, making her yet again fun and harder to use than in both games. Can't wait. l've vastly improved my zoning skills, and l still have (and play) CT to strengthen my already good rushdown.
tofurr Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 (edited) Here are some nerfs that went unnoticed from the past loketest: - A-Lobelia's recovery increased. Not as much recovery as CT version though. [Note: We already have a note on this, but this specifies only A Lobelia, so B's and C's recovery were left alone?] - Baden Baden Lily's damage from the lightning rods slightly decreased. - Something about how j.2C's raised up. The word compound is unclear, hasn't been translated in any of the other Location Tests' notes either. Thanks to Jewdo for translating. EDIT: j.2C hits high. Edited November 15, 2010 by tofurr
Soniti Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Sounds like she will definitely be viable. Keep in mind that without CT pumpkin and CT 6a, she will actually have to work some to get in. But once she's in, we can at least rush down.
unsanctifier Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 When was j.2c recorded as high. If so, GG world. We will be cruel to the tier-whores. And through our cruelty they will know who we are. They will find the evidence of our cruelty in disemboweled and dismembered tournament results we leave behind us. And the tier-whores won't help but imagine the cruelty their brothers endured at our hands, at our sticks, and at the edge of our fingers. And the tier-whores will be sickened by us. And the tier-whores will talk about us. And the tier-whores will fear us. And when a tier-whore closes their eyes at night, and they're tortured by their sub-conscious for the evil they have done, it will be with thoughts of us they are tortured with. Sound good?
Junk Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 For a moment there, I was thinking "how am I gonna zone if I can't abuse A lobelias anymore?" and then I remembered that her 6B is *probably/hopefully/insert posivite words here* useful now but then again... maybe I've been using A lobelias a bit too much.... or worrying about the nerf too much
tofurr Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 It causes slide on counter hit and gatlings into 6c now, so yeah, I'd say it's a bit more useful now. Also, there's been a few more updates I'm waiting for a translation for. I believe one of them to be that j.2C can no longer be jump canceled. Need to wait for the translation to be 100% sure.
Alex073088 Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 i think when it says j.2c is raised higher that it means that you have to be a certain distance above the ground inorder to use it...like the same with lobelias, and jumping forward with j.b. that way you can somewhat react to j.2c instead of straight guessing.
tofurr Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Considering it's listed as a nerf, I'll have to agree.
tofurr Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Hiago translated in the loketest thread, thanks to him. =] So, it seems that our overall damage has been nerfed a little from the previous tests. Our new 5B>2B gatling can't be looped like Carl's 5A>2A (I think that's what it is ). And j.2C is no longer jump cancellable.
unsanctifier Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 5b 2b gatling was never loopable, that was announced right off the bat J.2C not being jump cancellable is plenty fair, its normal cancellable on landing and is an overhead, get hype.
Kuuhaku Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Considering it's listed as a nerf, I'll have to agree. From the kanji used for it, I think it means it's an overhead. Not 100% sure, but the kanji used for "high" corresponded with the kanji for "low" and "mid". Or at least... that's how I read someone's translation.
