NickExtreme1 Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 (edited) to update the combo thread, I'd like if someone could help out and see on who 2C > 6B > 5C > j.214B works on. I'd check but I have no access to BB at the moment Hopping on now, will update info here soon. 2C > 6B (first hit)> 5C > j.214B works on the entire cast. 2C > 6B(both hits)> 5C > j.214B is Tager/Hakumen/Bang/Arakune specific. The best combo I could come up with this string midscreen is: 2C > 6B (first hit)> 5C > j.214B > 236A > 236B > j.A > 5B (9) > j.B > 3C > j.A > Land 5D > 5B > 2C > j.B > dj.B > Konig Flug (5577 DMG , 47MG) 2C > 6B (both hits)> 5C > j.214B > 236A > 236B > j.A > 5B (9) > j.B > 3C > j.A > Land 5D > 5B > 2C > j.B > dj.B > Konig Flug (5892 DMG , 49MG) Edited May 14, 2011 by NickExtreme1
NickExtreme1 Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 aren't you missing some j.Bs and Land 5Ds? No, combos from the string you requested are very height specfic after the j.214B midscreen. There are more damaging ones in the corner with a 2D after the j.214B.
Sahgren Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Is 2C > 6B > 5C > j.214B really worth learning? One of the combos found that uses 5C > 236C guarantees corner carry and seems to do about as much damage without meter, and more with meter. Even meter gain is a bit lower, so I do have to wonder what the benefits of this string are.
GenoWhirl Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Probably not, but I like knowing stuff for completeness' sake
DJ_Blactricity Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 2C > 6B(both hits)> 5C > j.214B is Tager/Hakumen/Bang/Arakune specific. You should double check this I got it to work on everyone besides jin, noel, platinum, valk, mu, and litchi.
NickExtreme1 Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 You should double check this I got it to work on everyone besides jin, noel, platinum, valk, mu, and litchi. Tested, this statement proves true, just harder to do than on the characters I mentioned. The 6B(one hit) variant is superior though. I don't blame GenoWhirl for the curiousity at all, I'd do the same :P. BTW guys, I'm doing updates on the Valkenhayn Mizuumi for BBCS2. Check the link in my signature and let me know what kind of job I'm doing
Andarel Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 (edited) Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't [w]5B a great anti-air? At least, its hitbox seems really huge and it's beaten a lot of stuff clean when I've used it. It's pretty pointless on trade because it sends him human again, but it seems like one of the better anti-airs around. Also, any tips for the midair human ender? I'm not getting it down for some reason, with something like [w]j.236a j.236B C ~ DB [h]dj.B j.C, but the transformation back to human always messes me up. I've noticed that you can transform as the shockwave appears from his [w]C but there's always either a height problem (not really anymore) or they tech out. Edited May 15, 2011 by Andarel

[w]5B is definitely a good anti-air move mostly because of it range and the fact that it gives Valkenhayn some invincibility during the move. As for you mid air combo ender, try waiting for your opponnent to stop rising after the j.236B and perform 5C ~ j.DB > dj.B > j.C , at least thats how I time it so it won't miss. Sahgren Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 BTW guys, I'm doing updates on the Valkenhayn Mizuumi for BBCS2. Check the link in my signature and let me know what kind of job I'm doing Nitpicking time~: 1) According to the System Guide, Valk's personal combo scaling is 80%, not 90%. 2) When listing 2C as a possible anti-air, don't forget to mention that it doesn't have head invul to differentiate it from designated anti-airs. 3) "Ground slams opponent on hit" should be in the description for j.214AB rather than 236AB. 4) We can't really say that he's a high damage character anymore, one of the big balance changes for him in CS2 is that his damage was reduced to about average to balance out him having what is quite possible the best mix up in the game. He can get crazy high damage in the corner yeah, but so can everyone else.

Just note some of the stuff on there are still reflective of CS1 Valkenhayn, thats what I'm working on changing eventually. EDIT: Changes made, I plan on updating with Combos later on today. BerserkJustice Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 (edited) Nice job on the mizuumi page Nick, I've been trying to get into playing Valk seriously and it is helping a lot. Does anyone have some tips for the CS2 challenge 8 combo? I can get to the end where you must j.B > dj. B > j.C but it seems like Valk either doesn't propell high enough, or the dummy recovers before I can land it. I've tried multiple variations on the timing of the prior attacks but still can't get it to work. Edited May 15, 2011 by BerserkJustice

I've tried multiple variations on the timing of the prior attacks but still can't get it to work. Challenge #8 I've had trouble with the same combo before as well and it really is dependent on where you AND your opponent is on the screen. The way you start off has to be the way shown first off and the j.214B relaunch should occur around half way from the corner where it is shown. I'm certain the timing for a j.214B > 9D > D > j.B > j.B > j.C has not changed in CS2, if you played CS1 Valk as a reference, but the j.214B causes the opponent to be knocked back more hortizontally than in CS1, which would explain doing the ender in the corner. The best I can say is keep practicing and it should come naturally after some time. Edited May 15, 2011 by NickExtreme1
André Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Nick, about the mizuumi page, Mondlicht input is j.214B, and not j.236B And the Blut Vollmond is 214214C, not 214214D. Hope it helps.

Sahgren Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 All these Valk's coming in being 360 exclusive players is making me almost want to pick up a 360 myself. Almost. I don't have the kind of cash right now, and don't wanna beg my parents for the money to afford it.
Sahgren Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 You won't have to beg if you steal. You know that they say; everything looks like the broken window of the nearest Best Buy when it's midnight and you're drunk.
HappyHazmat Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Blame PSN for me not being able to play with you Sah, the network was still down when i decided to rebuy BBCS
