Clashes should induce a headbanging contest where you have to mash buttons to win. Like in SamSho.

That's most likely the best idea for a new GG I've ever heard.

I actually have played GG with the guitar.

I've played I-No with it. I couldn't move forward or block...but I did a 5 hit combo.

the guitar I played the whammy bar, i think , was right. So I could block if i was on 2p side or walk forward if I was on 1p side.

First of all, the game is still very popular in Japan. Second, AC was made in 2006, it's relatively old.And third, the most important, the game actyally requires effort to learn it and people nowdays don't tend to put enough effort. Games tend to be dumbed down. Look at Devil May Cry. DMC 3 was a great old school game and DMC 4, while being a good game, isn't as half as good and challenging as DMC 3. And I don't want to think about new ''we want it to apeal to western public'' one.

I don't really think we will ever get a new Guilty Gear game of AC caliber. And it's not ASW's fault, it's new ''dumbed down'' generation's (I don't mean to be rude here or to call someone dumb, I couldn't put it better...).

I'll still play AC, even if I don't have to play it with anyone. In my country scene never really existed and I know only one (1!) person who plays it actively (what I mean is playing on a higher level) and he lives in the other part of the country. I have met him only once IRL. Yeah, there's a few casual lower level players, but that's it...

What's funny is that the North American releases of games used to be tougher than the Japanese and Euro versions.

What might work is if they use some of the BB mechanics in the new GG so that a BB player could possibly move over to GG and be okay. But keep the more hardcore aspects of GG intact, so that it's kinda like Third Strike compared to, say, SF4 as far as learning curves go.

No no no and a FUCKING NO!

Why can't they be two separate games?

One for fags and one for men, it's as simple as that, there is no need for them to ruin one game for the sake of it being too hard liek omfg frcs r jp onry.

They can still make shit tons of $$$ from BB and make GG on the other hand.

=(

I'm mad =(

I think everyone should relax a bit. I know it might be crap news that they'll probably be making it "less complex" and such. Maybe it won't be so bad. We can only keep optimistic till the time comes I suppose.

In the meantime, why don't we talk about some things we'd want in the game.

- I want them to make Bridgette's yoyo a better okizeme tool. It seems like your best option is to always set it up in the air and do the unblockable. The other stuff can hardly save you and a knockdown is almost pointless since the yoyo comes out too slow to keep your opponent under pressure.

- Increase Johnny's damage output a little.

- Increase Ky's damage output. (I don't really mean his general damage, I refer to his max damage ouput. They could probably find a way to prorate it.)

- Nerf Slayer... (I hate that 3 hit combo bastard T_T)

- Make Zappa's dog a little bit easier to control. It's a bit annoying trying to get him to you at times and he can be a tad bit troublesome to work with imo. Maybe I'm just not good with him though.

Well, that's all I can think of... For now.

Because his damage output is bad.

:|

Well it's not great considering that everything else about him is average and it'd cost him more than others.

His pokes and pressure are good. In the long run, most of his stuff is average. I refer to his average combos, rather than his max combos which are good, but even then, other characters can do around the same damage without the cost of something in return such as a coin or tension to false roman.

: P

Also, I was being specific about Bridget. So if you have nothing useful to say notsogos, then don't say crap. Man, I remember when the fighting game community wasn't full of so many #%#. If you DISAGREE, write why instead of saying crap.

P.S.

Did I SAY his damage output was bad? *Looks over* Hm, nope. Not there. I said raise it a bit. I didn't say his damage was crap, I just thought it would make him a better character if he could do good average damage instead of just decent.

Man, I remember when the fighting game community was full of people that actually knew what they were talking about

Man, I remember when threads were filled with good posts

Man, I remember when you played guilty gear before you played blazblue

Johnny does great damage, what the fuck are you talking about? Raising his damage output is not going to make him a better character because that's not his problem.

Like seriously I'm sorry but have you ever watched a Johnny? If Johnny has the correct resources (the fact that he needs resources so badly is one of his problems...not his damage) and pressured you AT ALL (you blocked a HS button) and then got hit, you're eating a big chunk of your life.

Johnny doesn't get shit all without at least 25% and level 2. His mixup is pretty sorry (his 5D is horrible, TK ensenga needs 50% to be safe and net you big damage) without meter and his pressure is significantly weaker without coins (mist cancel is not strong at level 1). The damage he gets when he finally has his resources and hits you is far and away from being a problem at all, it's the fact that he has to rely so heavily on meter and coins, both of which are limited.

If he lands COINS, his combos are "strong". But even if you do, you can't get a mist finer on them as easily as the old games and it's usually blocked almost all times.

Second, GREAT? Are you kidding me? Slayer does great damage. Potemkin does Godly damage. Axl Low does great damage. May does GREAT damage. Hell, not ONLY does Eddie do "GREAT" damage, he does great everything! But his damage is way better than Johnny's and does it cost him a coin? Nope. Does it cost him super? At times, but it's more worth it than Johnny's. You're USING something that can be WASTED to get this "GREAT" damage. And your chances of landing this "Great" damage? Pretty low if you don't have someone in a corner and don't have mist finer out. It's hard to set up in my honest opinion, when the person knows what happens if he's hit. Also, I have watched Johnny videos. I'm referring more or less to his Average Combos that causes alright damage. I'm not talking about when you have someone actually in a corner and can PROBABLY cause the damage you need.

So, my point? If you lose everything, you can't get good damage across. There are characters who at the cost of NOTHING can still do decent. And even then, Order Sol does pretty good damage without even having to charge up. So why the Hell should Johnny only do decent damage when he gets a coin off and has tension? Man, I wasn't talking about his max combo damage. Obviously that does a lot of damage, I mean his standard combos the gets when poking. THAT is decent. Just like how without Super, Robo-ky can do good damage, but with Super he can do great damage.

Also, Zappa's dog is hard to control because you have to get him to COME to you, which is hard if you're being pressured and he's far from you. Sure you can keep pressing back and dust, but sometimes the dog is a damned moron and goes the wrong way, or just doesn't get to you fast.

Now, before anyone else starts annoying the Hell out of me.

- Make better AI for Dizzy's fish. They're so damned annoying sometimes.

Thanks for basically crumbling your own argument and agreeing with me.

But even if you do, you can't get a mist finer on them as easily as the old games and it's usually blocked almost all times.

LOL

Also you are completely wrong about Order-Sol without charge. You can only score decent damage on half the cast without them eating Gunblaze or getting counter hit by specific moves.

I DON'T MEAN THE MIST FINER. I KNOW THAT'S UNBLOCKABLE! YOU'RE JUST CAUSING AN AMPHIBOLY! I MEAN HIS DAMNED QCF! WHY AM I EVEN ARGUING IF YOU'RE JUST GOING TO BE AN ASS?!

Posted

Admit it, IronTager, you're really just agreeing with him. Don't be too stubborn to admit it. You say it yourself that Johnny has a hard time to do considerable damage. That's Johnny's real problem, not his damage output.

Posted

That's called Mist Finer. The mist that makes it unblockable is called Bacchus Sigh...

I'm not really trying to be an ass.

You essentially agreed with me complaining about Johnny's resource-intensiveness, which I pointed out was the problem (this is seperate from damage output).

Raising Johnny's damage output would require you to either rework his character or just flat out buff his damage, which I predict would give him some pretty unfair high damage combos when he has meter and level. His damage output is fine it's the fact that he has to sacrifice a combo to coin the opponent and needs meter and level for good mixup which in turn leads to his damage.

Alright man. Sorry I got angry, I'm just saying that people should be a bit more curtious and such. I realize Johnny does good damage, if he can get some things in that require too much considering others can do the same with no cost. You know?

I appreciate constructive criticism, but I appreciate kindness and being curtious more.
