I saw Cirno do a 6b dash 5C at the very start of his combo vid, is that corner specific too?

"I guess I've failed to mention this, but 6B chains into most everything so long as you space it properly. If it connects at the maximum range of the attack, you have about 12 frames to connect another attack. This would include dashing 5A, 5C, 2B, standing 5B etc. At lesser than max ranges, you can still connect dashing 5A or standing 5C, but the distance has to be recognized, otherwise the opponent may just as well block it. It's decent for resetting pressure if they do block it, although."

And no, it's not corner specific.

Whats an ideal mix-up pressure string for Plat in the corner? 5A > 5A > TK Swallow Moon > 5A > 2B > Grab?

I wouldn't say there's an "ideal" mix-up string for Platinum since she has so many possibilities. stuff > TK Swallow Moon > stuff is pretty much the idea, but 'stuff' can be replaced with so much. Anything JCable into TK Swallow Moon works pretty well, and I've even seen people TK Swallow Moon > land > TK Swallow Moon. There's just too much availability there. Of course, you shouldn't get too greedy, especially if they have a DP.

As for the bombs stuff Duqs was saying on the last page; 6A > bombs > 2C works, but you can't follow it up with anything midscreen. It's better to do 6A > bombs > 66 > 6C > dj.C > Air Persia, but it also seems like 6A > bombs > 6C > j.236C > barrier cancel > j.b > stuff would work, but the timing is pretty strict. I may try it more later, but as for now it's not really that worth it. 6A > single bomb > 66 > 6C > j.236C > j.5C > 6A > 236B is better for corner carry, does more damage. In the corner(/close to corner), a single bomb after 6A is also better, as you can do 6A > bomb > 2C > 236B > (66) 6C > j.236C > j.5C > 22C > 5C > 6A > 236B, which nets about 3k.

Yeah I read that a while ago in the combo section, no wonder i can't get 6b to work properly =D And yuh, i do agree that plat doesn't have an "idealized" overhead blockstring (i'd call it an autopilot blockstring though if there ever was one, like makoto's 2a>5b>5cc>6b(overhead)5c). Best thing about plat is she can fire off a 6b from almost anywhere in her string (you can try for a reset if you're daring enough), and she has a tk swallow moon.

Oh yeah, what do you guys usually use your 50% meter for? I find myself DA-ing more than often than most characters that i've used XD

Startup and recovery for bombs is the same regardless if you 5D or 214D. Stuff like that can be found in the frame data.

As for heat, almost always RC, unless frying pan/hammer loop > super will kill. RC makes for much better options mid-screen and lets you toss out random mami circulars without worrying about them being blocked.

rcing with plat is great. however, my suggestion is to save heat. plat has amazing corner carry and cs2 favors the corner. l suppose if the opponent is a bit reckless mami is always a threat, but with her poor defensive options (everyone knows shes going to dp if she has bat at this point), id save heat for defense and be a bit more patient about getting in with her - though, the threat of mami is quite rewarding despite the expense of resource.

I would use heat for both Supers and RC. She has a really Strong pressure/mix ups game and RCing some of her moves would make her offensive game alot better. And both of her supers are pretty good and does pretty good damage. Though, like Tempest Dahlia said, I would sometimes save my heat for some characters and use the heat for defense if needed.

It's definitely very situational for heat usage, but I'm often looking out for a chance to use Miracle Jeanne. If I land a 5C > Mami or 5B > 3C close to corner and feel they won't burst/can't burst, then I'll RC to follow up. If the proration doesn't seem to be worth the heat usage, then I'll just Dream Sally oki and save the heat. And of course, if I have an opportunity to do the hammer loop and feel they won't burst/can't burst, then I'll go for CDT at the end.

If I'm at 100% heat, then I might CDT as a reversal, and rapid if they block. I may also rapid if it hits into 2C > Dream Sally/Mami (depending on location) > stuff. I also really enjoy Mami > RC on block, especially if RC'd early, for a quick crossup.

Can someone tell me why Pulsr is a mod for this board please? I'm not trying to hate or anything and I know that he is a mod for the May boards but Platinum isn't exactly like May. Also, I just don't see him post in the Platinum board that much.

I suppose Shtkn and Pulsr know each other irl and Pulsr expressed interest in modding for Plat.

It's like this, Shtkn made his choice. He thought it was the best one (It probably is). If we're unsatisfied with it, then we just need to deal with it. So far, Cirno's doing the best he can. The least we can do is support him, and pulsr will eventually come on and put in his input.

I'm sure he will, there's no real point in debating it at this time. It's only been a day, after all. Give 'em a bit.

Anyway, sorry I haven't been doing more. Since last Thursday I've either been in doctor's appointments, hospitals, or simply bedridden. At this point it's nothing to worry about though, but I'm still pretty sick. Once I get over it I'll pick up the pace, but I'll still do what I can in the meantime.

Also. You know what? I think a new thread is in order. It's been a while, and we've come a long way. Due to the high raw content of good (archive worthy) gameplay information, I'll stick this thread in the archive. I'm very pleased with how it's turned out, and I think this thread's life has just about reached its end.
