Ok, NOW using Tsubaki over 6B seems worth it. 9k in the corner for only 5 mags to start and OD ? I'm sold.

And YAY at countering bursts! The good news keeps coming in.

6d is still dead, STOP SMILING!

In all honesty Haku doesn't look as bad as he did before, sure the play style has changed a lot but the changes to his meter gain and his OD open up a lot of potential.

Its recovery is supposed to be the shortest among the drives right now, though the start up is still terrible.

He actually says "Kekkai hōsha!" in CS.

For real?! You just blew my world.

I would also like to what does the calligraphy stand for in the circles for Hakumen's specials

It is "capital numbers" of 1, 2 and 3. Capital numbers are used on cash bills and to give a "old" feel.

It is the same for Hakumens magatama metre;

Instead of 一二三四五六七八 they use 壱弐参肆伍陸漆捌

and if the symbol used for his Kokuujin techniques mean anything.

"Kokuujin" is written 虚空陣 for Hakumen, and 虚空刃 for Jin.

Literal meaning being "Empty Sky Battle Formation" and "Empty Sky Blade" respecitively.

You can see the symb-ol when he's preparing Shippu, and it's at the center of the yukikaze seal.

The only thing I see when he activates his DD is his BB-crest? ._.

I thought the middle of the Yukikaze shield was the same gibberish as in his normal drives?

I would also like to know what he calls Valk: 来い、俊老。, Koi, shunrō. I was told it means "Great Wolf" or something along those lines

If it is those kanji, it does mean "come, you excellent oldie". But as itsme said, it could be 狼 (wolf) and not 老 (old) you are looking for.

This another video I cannot watch on the tube. I have been getting problems lately with the command bar disappearing, leaving me with nothing but a black box. Anyone have any idea what that is about?

Does 6D have no recovery at all? It ends really quickly after that Zanshin shield thing flashes .

I don't think you can really trust the shield to be a visual cue. 2D's shield stay out way longer than it is active.

Even if they hade made it without recovery what would you use it to?

So... if 6D is active all its recovery, I guess it is a

Wow, 9k... That's insane. Glad to see that OD can be used practically with him. Seriously, that was as scary as Mugen loops. It might be possible to do something similar starting with less meter or using OD at a different point. Maybe to punish a high burst you could 5C > OD > (fancy stuff) LOL

So 8 stars in the corner + OD might let us do that off any hit as long as we go into Renka (1) Kishuu or something like that.

That sounds potentially amazing, but how exactly would it be a feint? If the guy knows Haku's counters it would be obvious which one we're doing.

Like in the video there, I guess we have to use it sparingly so that they'd mash something 6D will catch as a feint from stuff like 5A, 2A, 2B, 6A, 6B, normals that have sub par combo potentials on normal hit or block. Also, I'm going to assume a lot of yomi will be involved though it is still kind of sad 6D went from a reliable to a gimmicky drive.

So you kind of rely on your opponent mashing out after one of your normals? : /

Looking at the video, Jin techs about when Hakumen is halfway through his jump. Looking at the EX data, Hakumens jump is 42F so I guess he has about 21F to combo. In EX his step is 16F, so 5F + step speed buff so maybe step 2B is the way to go?

I think it would work considering a lot of Hakumen's pressure is mashed out if the opponent doesn't respect your pressure. Hell, if the opponent starts to react to stuff like 6A>6B pressure, you can punish them with 6D for reacting to the 6A block as they're ready to mash that 5A for the 6B. But yeah, I don't think it will be anything reliable, more of an option to punish the opponent for doing stuff like that. 5D, 5DD would probably work better but I think this is where 6Ds short recovery time helps it make it more safer if the opponent just baits it or if they do a low or grab too slow.

Also, step 2B probably would work, I wonder if 6C would reach that far and if we can follow it up in the corner with a step 2C? We can always go for a FC Enma too or even step Renka if it works for Renka(1) > Kishuu for an OD finish since 6D's P2 is decent.

Hmm... But considering that many people mash out with 2A or 2B, which of many are lows, I don't see why our overhead counter should fill that role. : /

Keep 6D as it was and play with 5D I say.

Oh, yeah we have jump start-up too. Frame advantage of successful 6D = ~25F?

Even from old step you could do Renka then.

Very scientific test of 6C:

6D > 6C > Shippuu = 4526?

Shouldn't this be bursts safe on this range as well?

@Nolan he's been boss gameplay wise since CS2.

@Isuna, could you provide me the name of the Hakumen's in the GAME-acho that contains the 9k combo? There's only two if I remember correctly, and the names of those who they played against. Thanks the Kokuujin thing I was talking about with regards to Shippu is the blue swirling energy around the sword when he's charging it.

Thanks :)

Yeah, next up on the list are Mac and Spark. NEC was totally gdlk, Mac. You really missed something there. BB top 8 was incredibly fucking hype with Dora being such a crowd pleaser. There were so many good moments I can't count them all.

the one that did the 9K combo is kakyuu, he's used the same tag since CS2
