Cirno Posted November 21, 2010 Author Posted November 21, 2010 So yeah. Get back to discussing the completely meaningless changes made in the most recent loketest. Well hey, that's not fair. If the changes are completely meaningless then there was never a point for these threads, nor a point to keep track of the changes. We could all just hop into BBCSII knowing not a single change and everything would be cool. (well it probably would but, yeah, uh, you know? yeah.) I really wonder what makes Makoto so strong this time around, Ushi didn't really specify.
Circuitous Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Well hey, that's not fair. If the changes are completely meaningless then there was never a point for these threads, nor a point to keep track of the changes. We could all just hop into BBCSII knowing not a single change and everything would be cool. That's sorta my point. It's also fairly unlikely that the final CS2 product will be exactly like any of these loketests. You'll have another batch of changes to deal with in the final release. Not that it matters, because you don't live in Japan, and will have weeks to study the ACTUAL game before you get to play it. This is just a dump for all the baseless whining and cheering that these loketests mysteriously generate.
RadRed Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 I reckon you're correct in stating that the final build won't be a carbon copy of any one of the location tests, but the information gathered just might give us a general idea of what to expect from each character, so I still see it as relatively important.
Circuitous Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Yeah... because the changes between loketests have been so consistent, right? And not the source of constant bitching from everyone, ever?

This is just a dump for all the baseless whining and cheering that these loketests mysteriously generate. It's possible that the final product won't be exactly similar, but if I recall correctly, CS1 was pretty similar to the 4th and final loketest. Not to mention that there's a lot from the initial loketest that the 5th loketest did not change this time around, so there's still a good amount of things sticking. I also don't recall arcsys actually specifying that the BBCSII patch date was going to be any different than the arcade release, or very far from it, nor that it was going to be in Japan first. Pretty sure a lot of that is 'likely assumptions' but it doesn't shut out the possibility otherwise. And if the BBCSII patch was released around the same time of the arcade release, and for America as well, then we would not have weeks to study the actual game before we get to play it. I'm not saying that most of this thread is shit, or that there's tons of people blowing up the thread with nonsense, but I am saying that this thread serves a purpose.
RadRed Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 I get it. The final build could easily be entirely different from this last location test. It probably will, but who knows, there could be a considerable amount of changes that stick. It's one of the many possibilities.. of the Continuum Shift..
SansProtocol Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Yeah... because the changes between loketests have been so consistent, right? And not the source of constant bitching from everyone, ever? A company that has been using loketests to use players as a basis to test and tune their game wouldn't logically apply major changes to the game after the final loketest. If they did, they would need to do even more testing or risk publishing a bad product because of unforeseen circumstances. The other loketests are trivial in comparison (I agree) when on the topic of changes that would affect players greatly. The constant bitching and pointless discussion...well, that just happens with everything sadly.
kairless Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Well, he never got it while I was watching so I can't be 100% sure. It seemed to me like he was doing 2D, <press some buttons>, Cat Spirit 2. He might have been trying different variants of this, because he would try the combo a couple of times then write something on his notebook. He'd do it again a couple of times (maybe slightly differently?) and then write on his notebook again. Rinse. Repeat. Sounds like he was testing which AB2 enders still work. If he can 3c->AB2->6c, 3c must still be untechable. Not so sure how he is using 2D in a AB2 ender. It wasn't needed in cs. Thanks for the info.
Yggjrasil Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 This is just a dump for all the baseless whining and cheering that these loketests mysteriously generate. That comes naturally with change. People just don't know how to deal with it.
Circuitous Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 A company that has been using loketests to use players as a basis to test and tune their game wouldn't logically apply major changes to the game after the final loketest. Of course they wouldn't make any "major" changes, but minor changes can add up. Anyway, I'm gonna go back to not giving a shit.
SansProtocol Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 Of course they wouldn't make any "major" changes, but minor changes can add up. Anyway, I'm gonna go back to not giving a shit. True and same.
Cirno Posted November 22, 2010 Author Posted November 22, 2010 And as I figured, nobody would notice my post due to being the last one on the last page. Ahh, such is life. I'll repost this as well: I really wonder what makes Makoto so strong this time around, Ushi didn't really specify. Is her crossup game that much stronger due to 214AB's changes? Or not being able to tech from her dempsey roll? I don't play Makoto, so I wouldn't know.
shtkn Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 closed. you guys really disappoint me... why is it so hard to not behave like juveniles?

Urichinan Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Whoa, I feel bad for Carl... That's a little ridiculous.
C0R Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Did Mu gain anything besides SoD that breaks primers? Because with the cut to charged steins, won't it be her only one? I don't see how that lines up with the earlier design plan to make her MORE focused around guard primer destruction.
zreb Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Did Mu gain anything besides SoD that breaks primers? Because with the cut to charged steins, won't it be her only one? I don't see how that lines up with the earlier design plan to make her MORE focused around guard primer destruction. My only guess would be that charged stein breaking primers is too much in their whole "Hey she breaks primers" design. I already know right now you can do a stein setup that potentially breaks 4 primers <_< Seems to make charged steins a gimmick, but I'm no pro or anything.
Zeromus_X Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Did Mu gain anything besides SoD that breaks primers? Because with the cut to charged steins, won't it be her only one? I don't see how that lines up with the earlier design plan to make her MORE focused around guard primer destruction. Don't forget 214D breaks primers too, and will likely be stronger with the faster steins.
A.X.I.S. Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Carl losing j.C>j.B is something that is strange. He just lost some damage and his combo's are gonna be like CT's again.
HiagoX Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 ● Tsubaki ☆剣が頭体属性無敵になった 214A/B/C/D has upper body invencibility. ☆必殺技がガードされてもD必殺技でキャンセルできるように + If a special move is blocked, she can cancel it into a D special move. ☆C光がめくりで使えるように + j.236A/B/C/D (Light) can be used as cross-up. ☆D焔の無敵削除。出す前に紋章が出てチャージ全部消えてゲージも全部消えちゃっ た - 236236D does not have invencibility anymore. You lose your charge gauge even if you are hit before hitting the opponent. Just adding the command motions for the moves.
C0R Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Does that mean 214x is a viable antiair? >SoD? Yes.
killionaire Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Disclaimer: Just me and my scrub opinion.. George getting buffed is nice, as in now he can become a pain in the ass again (as he rightfully should be). Still, not a gigantic change.
Prinnical Shock Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Is it wrong if I find the 6C nerf to be very lol
