Jourdal Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 >top characters >Tager and Jin Oh hello again, ice carz abuse and random genesic emerald tegah bastah in ranked Of course, I can be wrong and the game may develop differently with the passing of time Ice car was punished in CT and will be punished in CS2
Yggjrasil Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Ice car was punished in CT and will be punished in CS2 You can still punish it in CS1, People just seldom use it outside of combos. I'd like to believe that Jin players in CS1 know better than to do so. :/
KM Riku Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Wow, WTF about Noel huh? So she's gonna play pretty much like CS1 minus the Haida Loop, with still no real BnBs midscreen without 5D guessing and counter hits. See the good side, she's not looking as bottom as Taoaka is.
Kyosuke Kagami Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Ice car was punished in CT and will be punished in CS2 I know d00d But it'll be boring and stupid to deal with.
felipebwk Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 ●Ragna まだお後暴れたらなんか潰せた ロケテ中は念仏唱えるキャラ化してるかも… 本稼働で色々増えるといいですね You can fit something after 22C if you mash something out. (nothing new) I prayed during the loketest that this character would change... It's a good thing that there are quite a bit of working machines around here (someone verify what "本稼働" means) idon't get it? "It's a good thing that there are quite a bit of working machines around here" what's the meaning of this?
Sahgren Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Tao's still gonna call her Lacking Lady though...
Tofu Warrior Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Yes, Tager lost his 5C > 6A gatling. And looking at the overall changes here, I don't see anything about a 6A > 5C gatling. I'm almost positive that I saw it somewhere, but it might have been fake. I don't know, maybe someone with a better memory can corroborate my claim? I know d00d But it'll be boring and stupid to deal with. It's good IB practice. I like instant blocking the first hit of Ice Car and catching the second hit with 720.
zreb Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 (edited) I hope Noel is in a better place at launch. Seems kind of sketchy at this point though :\ Edited November 17, 2010 by zreb

Despite the first statement saying no one feels too strong.

And Tager for high? Pretty cool. 5B > 2B > 6A > 6C > Shit you know
Sahgren Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 5B > 2B > 6A > 6C > Shit you know Which is better than her current 5A > 2B > 6A > 6C > Stuff because...?

Varamathras Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Which is better than her current 5A > 2B > 6A > 6C > Stuff because...? 6A hits crouchers
Sahgren Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 6A hits crouchers If they're crouching we can just gattling into 2c > 3c > 22bc > stuff, which deals more damage, carries further towards the corner and gains more heat. My point still stands.
Varamathras Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 (edited) If they're crouching we can just gattling into 2c > 3c > 22bc > stuff, which deals more damage, carries further towards the corner and gains more heat. farranpoison Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Noel in CS2 is gonna be the same except without Haida Loops in exchange for some slightly buffed normals. She's going to be fine.
2 GB Combo Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 If they're crouching we can just gattling into 2c > 3c > 22bc > stuff, which deals more damage, carries further towards the corner and gains more heat. My point still stands. 6A hitting crouchers helps Noel a ton because she doesn't need to hitconfirm anymore, throwing out 2B>6A was dangerous because if they blocked 2B, they would punish you for whiffing 6A. Previously, for Noel too hitconfirm 2B into 6A effectively and safe, she would have to do 2B>2B>6A, but 2B>2B scales so much and usually pushes them too far to connect 6C afterwards, it's usually not even worth it. The buff allows Noel's pressure and mixup game to be a little bit better since 2B can now effectively combo with little risk. And with the new 5B>2B gattling, she has an actual mixup off 5B between 2B and 6B, both which can potentially lead into a combo now.
farranpoison Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Also, Noel's j.4D can actually be used as a decent crossup now. Honestly, she'll be fine. It's Makoto I'm worried about.

I'm gonna remain neutral about the j.4D change until I see it though, I can't find any videos of it so I have no idea how fast/crossovery it is now. *shutting up about this topic before the thread derails too much
dsmoove12 Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Yea Noel isn't looking too bad right now. 6A hitting crouchers is a really good buff, and can't wait to see how much they nerfed 5D frames DX
AdamNW Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Why is Arakune's 6D being faster a nerf? Seems to work both ways (losing air control but gaining ground control)
stunedge Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 The main changes that made me think Jin is/will be high tier are: -2C>5C possible (can't input 2C twice), from the first loctest. This allowed for a 4k combo which is very high for a first-try combo in CS2 where, as I've said before, average damage seems to be ~3.2k for fast melee-ers. If he keeps damage similar to CS1 when everyone else's damage has gone down so much he'll be scary. -5D start up faster but shorter freeze time, can combo from 5C, second loctest. I don't know much about Jin's combos but several people commented on this being a very strong change, in regards to being able to freeze standing opponents very easily. (Now that I'm looking closely I think this was actually reversed in Loctest 3, derp) -I just now remembered that Loctest 4 gave everyone an unblockable 5B or 5C and thus Jin's very strong air-unblockable 5C in the 3rd Loctest is moot. Though that's a pretty damn good move to have air unblockable. Slayer? I WISH I could forget him, those FB combos still keep me awake at night. EDIT: Re: Tager is finally good. That's kind of a scary thought. The better SoCal players (lol obvious shoutout) already manage to make Tager look so damn awesome even though I know perfectly well he's crappy, hopefully him being good won't mean the end of stupid ridiculous and awesome gimmicks. 1. 2C>5C is indeed a buff, but just adding one 5C into existing 2C combo doesn't really make any difference. The key point of this change is it made hit confirm after 2C fatal much easier than it was, but due to the proration rate, if u start FC combo with 2C>5C, you have to change combo parts and the damage itself doesn't really change at all 2. personally speaking 5D is about the same, it is faster and yes 5C>5D is useful, but in the regular combo, there is really no point to end combo with 5C>5D since 5D doesn't give Jin any advantage frames and people can always jump or mash out in the regular ground combo, since 214B does knock down now, so that one is always a better option 3. everybody has air-unblocknable 5B,5C now, not just Jin 5C was a good anti-air move against some characters since CS1, and also, when u block in the air, u should use barrier anyway even in CS1 2C>5C, 2B>5B, 214B knockdown, 5C>5D gave Jin more options in the mid-range, but nerf in 6D, 623D, throw, change in 6A definitely nerfed his corner pressure longer meter penalty time makes all characters regain their meter so much slower and this is also a nerf for a character like Jin who requires lots meter I think Jin is getting closer and closer to Ky, maybe this is how ASW want to make him to be like EDIT: I mentioned AC slayer cuz he was considered to be the "bottom-tier" during the entire location test and so many people complained that time. And... we all know what happened in the official version
Kyosuke Kagami Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 What's Ky like? Ky relies a lot on pressure. Something that I can't relate with Jin.
eirei Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 What's Ky like? He's 178cm tall, has blonde hair and blue-green eyes, his blood type is AB, and his hobbies are collecting teacups and protecting the name of justice.
