RedVermillion Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Are you coming from a fighting game background or is BB your first? BB isn't my first fighting game. My experience is as follows: Mortal Kombat (all of them) Street Fighter (almost all of them, mostly Alpha series, SFIII, and SSFIV) Virtua Fighter (All of them) Tekken (only the original, didn't like it) Dead or Alive (All of them) Fighting Vipers Soul series (All of them: 74% win ratio on ranked for SCIV for 360, around level 45) BlazBlue:CT (sucked at it, couldn't use any characters) Makoto is the only character I can use efficiently. I don't know if I am at tourney level since my XBL is down and can't put my skills to the test (can't afford the new price tag of $60.00 for gold membership). However, I did just beat score attack mode with Makoto WITHOUT having to use the 2nd controller stick. I've been trying to do that for a while. Also, last I checked, I had second highest point total of all Makoto players on XBL. It's been a while since I checked it though, so I may have dropped. RedVermillion is also my gamertag, so if you don't believe me, just check online.
Alzarath Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 3-4 weeks for CT Rachel ~2 weeks for CS Haku
Sharakonta Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Still currently working on everything with Hazama but still gettin better all the time. Edit: I also blame having to relearn everything cause of switching over to a stick.
Alpha152 Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 CT was my first serious fighter so it took me a while to get used to things. Up until recently I just got used to consistently pulling off haidas with Noel so I would say about a year plus a couple months
Nobus3r1 Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 At a year and counting. Based on current rate of progress I would say I would be tournament level at this game in 5-6 years.
OmniSScythe Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 With maining Jin in CT it took me around 6 months. With Makoto it took me the 2nd week of her release. zzzzzzz
Jourdal Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Still working on it...if you mean KNOW my character? It took me longer that it should have. Putting all i know into practice? Again still working on it.
Stomoman Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 BB was my first real fighting game, unless you count Smash Bros, which we shouldn't ge into. It took me about 5 weeks to get alot of it down. Still working on it. Sleep can wait.
Koopa_Klawz Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 ct was my first serious fighting game. it took me like 3-4 months to get some of the combos down. right now i'm still trying to find some useful tricks and combos for my character. as for my sub, i'm still learning him
Prinnical Shock Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Still working on it...if you mean KNOW my character? It took me longer that it should have. Putting all i know into practice? Again still working on it. this .
AdamNW Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 I'm still a scrub :v But I don't think I ever got good with CT Arakune. With CS Arakune it took me maybe a couple of days.
Kyosuke Kagami Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Took me good 2 weeks to get used to (MAH D:< ) Rachel in CT. Took me 5 damned weeks to get used to her raped CS form, playing in the arcades, and still I had to sub her because using her vs other chars is mentally tiring. Then, with HAKUMANZ (CS), sticked with him for 3 weeks trying to do all the shit most DL users did in CT (plus his new stuff). Had problems mainly because he required a lot more precission for his bnb. I come from a Darkstalkers, Rival Schools, SFZ (liked SFII but I was never that good there), SS and KOF FG scene (Mexico lol).
TheGreatReptar Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 I've been playing for a year and I'm still free.
No Limitz Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Still learning, recently i finally got the opportunity to meet local IRL players that I never knew existed. Trying to get a scene started now to step my game up.
Ryudrake Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 I've been playing this game ever since CT came out and I'm still learning new things about my main.
Chiizu Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 CS is the first fighter i really got into even though i was born with a controller in my hands. Switched to a stick afterwards though Took me about a week to learn most of Noel's BnBs, a full month for Haida loop, a lifetime to play at a competitive level
Moy_X7 Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 I've been playing for a year and I'm still free. Pretty much this, I still have to work on hit-confirms off 2B, 3C and 2C (Jin) and my reactions in general.
TDKDrew Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 i have many but the one i play with the most is jin and it only took about a week at the most
xlolxlolx Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 CT Jin took about a month or so getting down everything about what he can and cannot do, transition to CS Jin sorta still in the works since his play style has changed a good bit, Hazama took me 2 days....
RagnaXBL Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 with ragna, a week. with carl, still not there. it depends which character your playing and whether you've played fighting games on a serious level before.
kairless Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 took 2 weeks for tao (including tloop) 6 hours for cat2loop 1 week to learn ab2 ender 2 days to see which ab2 enders worked best then i switched to a stick and have to relearn this shit i can do every thing but AB2 enders on stick atm i played only DOA4 and Halo (for years) before BB tao is not as hard as u think, trust me also.... i used tao in ct although ragna was my main my downfall is lack of match-up experience
pvtreflex Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Back in CT, I'd say it took me about 6 months to be at a level where I could beat most people I encountered. Since CS Jin was not too different, I was able to adapt pretty quickly. Even after all that, though, I still have a long way to go before I enter any big tourneys.
rei-Scarred Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 I was never good at CT. The only reason people lost to me was I had well over 5000 matches and loads of matchup experience. I learned CS Bang and basically remade all his combos from the ground up in about 2 weeks when I had no internet lol.
PrinceHyphy Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 It took me like 1 month to find out that Jin was better for me than ragna then like a week to get good with him
