GrayscaleRain Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Not. XD I've been playing fighting games forever, but I'm definitely not a top tier player. The terminology eludes me, a lot, and there are some times when I'm golden, or my instincts kick in and it all works and there are other times when I know what I want to do, but I just can't make it happen. I'm okay with pretty much all the characters (except for Carl... poor poor Carl.) but I'm not really good with any of them. XD I'd like to think Hazama and Rachel were my mains, but... sometimes I just get my ass handed to me on a silver platter when I should have won. I don't know. I don't think I'll ever be good... I mostly just play to watch the characters do their thing.
Avenger Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 After seeing these two posts on top of this one, I now see myself as neither a good player nor a bad one, because I just play with my friends at someone else's house. We can never tell if we are good or bad, besides, it's just a game. Don't take it too seriously.
Lord Cruxis Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 A year for CT, 6 month but still going for CS but probably stopping because CS2 coming out.
bluecarrot Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 A full year of CT(first fighting game I ever played).... When my friend found the shortcuts I thought he was god. GOD!!. I had absolutely no idea how he was pulling out all of his moves so easily and he didn't tell me for like 2weeks:arg:. Followed by 2months to just be able to use my special moves, 3 months of combo and half a year or so worth of practice until CS came out. After struggling through CT, CS only took like a month...Though i still screw up bullet storm online..
BlitzChrono Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Well at the beginning it took me quiet a while for learning to play with jin like 3-5 weeks . After that i tried nu and i learned to play her a lot faster like 1 week. Now i play CS and my Main is Valkenhayn and it took only the last weekend for me to play with him like im doin nothin else . Maybe im trying Tsubaki or Makoto next.
curtain Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 4 month for me to main 6 characters and i use them all pretty equally, fastest way 2 learn is with youtube obviously and some characters took me only a week or less to master since they r so easy, namely tager and ragna
JammyKuradoberi Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Lol I bought the DLC when it came out and I still suck with her but I think Im better now than before with squirrel, but wow. Guess it depends on the person
DANBOY137 Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 three days and some youtube and im somewhat proficient
AkihikoSanada Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Noel isn't a terribly hard character, but I'm still struggling with some of the harder moves. And I'm currently trying to learn Hazama.
FormerlyUnknown Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 2 years and still the worst kune out there (~'3')~
K1TSuNE Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 well i dont know if im actually good with valkenhayn but I'm actaully winning pretty good amount of fights after 3 months of practicing. as for fighting background. I button mashed the hell out of SFII. all i can say is that my nintendo could take a serious beating. about ten years later I mainly play BB and i mostly work on trying to make myself a better BB player
DoktorSleepless Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Still not proficient with anyone. I mained Hakumen, went to Tager, and now am on Valk.
Columbus Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 took me about 1 day. after that I played online and did very well. And yes I come from a fighting game background. My first fighting game was Street Fighter Alpha 3
Remius Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Took me a few weeks of practice to be able to beat decent people with Mu. Or at least hold my own against people whom i know are better at their main than I am. Also I find it really funny that i dont know a single combo with Valkenhayn but still seem to be able to constantly win matches with him. I was thinking of learning him but i think he's just my new Troll character (up from Tager lol) Valk's mixup game is way too easy to abuse.
DJRocha Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Took me a 2 months to be efficient with Nu-13 and a month for Lambda 11. Am crazy enough to learn the move list and then jump into the online battlefield and get beat up! I always prefer actual exeperince & learn from there over training mode. But its a heavenly decree fact that I will never be jaw-droppingly-good with them! I didnt know dustloop up until now and suprisingly learned quiet alot about my main!
Feanor Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 I didnt know dustloop up until now and unsuprisingly learned quite alot about my main! Fixed it for ya.
Leonil_Requiem Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 HK CT= 8 months Jin CT= 3 months Ragna CS = 2 Months Jin CS = 3 or 4 Months Hakumen CS = Weeks
LunaKage Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Ragna CS = 2 Minutes Fixed that for ya bro :D
Rhiya Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Still need to learn to use install, at the very least, so... Not there yet.
Ashen Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Proficient is different from person to person. You can always get better and learn more about your character and matchups and anything. i can't say i'm proficient until i can place consistently in tournaments. if that's the case then it's 5 months and ongoing.
s3psev Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 CT Tao- 3 months CS Tao- been playing since release and still learning
Jin~ Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 CT Jin 6 months CT Noel 2 days Cs Jin 1 week Cs Hakuman 2 weeks Cs Valkin 5 days ( Just got him and hes pretty easy to use and combo string)
Klazzix Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Noel & Hazama in 3 months with matchup experience for at least half the cast, got much to learn still.
MrBatty Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 I suppose a few weeks, I never really tried that hard to be proficient until I re-bought CS and actually made an effort to learn some stuff.
