The Tao boards need serious cleaning. Even if there aren't many players at the very least the ones who do play her should have a clean board, instead of having to sift though CT and CS1 stuff to find whats up to date. Someone needs to get on it. if XDest doesn't you guys def need to get a mod who will. Finding stuff in here is hard. ;-;

Funny how like half of these Tao players here switched to the OTHER furry LOL... :lol:

I still haven't decided who to main actually. I've been messing around with Makoto and while I like some aspects of her game I can't seem to get into it as much as I did with Tao. It also feels like Makoto is way less deep to play/understand. I'm trying Valk as well, he feels more like Tao 2.0 with cool tricks and with knockdown and with a lot of room for potential improvement.

And I am not really dropping Tao, I still play with her it's just that likely I won't be using her anymore at tourneys :O, atleast in CS2.

Agreed with Solar, I wanted to learn some Taokaka high speed shit. But I cant really find anything relevant.

Yes, I already knew XDest was mod.

Yes, I'm going to EVO.

No, I'm not playing because A) Recording/interviewing/taking b-roll/drinking is taking 99% of my time, B) Dualshock3/Sixaxis banned, which is my most comfortable option.

sup people, quick question for you folks. so usually when I get a hit with tao and I know that 3c wont trip, I 2d-b to reset pressure and either b, 2b, or c before I hit the ground, I get a pretty good amount of counterhits but im having trouble maximizing damage off of these because of the awkwardness of the hit. So my question(s) would be:

1. Whats the best option after a j.b/j.2b/j.c counterhit in this situation

2. what else could I be doing thats better/ equal to what im doing?

3. is this a good idea

thanks in advance

j.2B and j.C CH on an airborne opponent usually leave enough time for Tao to land and follow with 5C > j.8D~A loop

right, but most of the time they're still grounded and the only things I can get to connect dont lead to any substantial damage so I end up doing another reset or backing up

1) The best option still would be dash->5B->3C->combo. But even without CH, you have enough time to do this.

2) Don't use only 2D~B, otherwise you'll get obvious. Start doing 5D~A (you have lots of options after this if you hit); 5C->JC->j.B; 214D; 5C->236CC, etc. If your opponent get used to 2D~B->j.C, you can also do 2D~B->...->2A->5B->6A.

3) Didn't really understand the question, but if you are too far for 3C you still can use 6A to continue the combo. Go for the resets when you hit lows/6B or you are too far even for 6A.

hmm enlightening, ive been using other options like 5d-a/b/c and 214d for pure mixup but i feel i get the best hits with 2d-b or 2d-c. at any rate thanks ronove/riku im going to have to try those

2d~b is pretty strong, but as it says, it gets obvious. You can make it baitable though through watching what they do. TaoFTW did this, and I did as well.

If they're auto-jumping out of the mixup -> 2d~b, do 2d~b j.B+C. The airthrow hitbox is wierd and catches them off guard. Also, you can 2d~b -> jump since you have one jump left to bait a DP, or have air priority.

5d~a is generally strong as KM said, but 5d~c -> j.c on counter hit is 4k combo, and on block its pretty good... the j.c part I mean. They can DP/AA between the 5d~c and j.c, but then again, just barrier if you see it coming. Free combo.

Also, remember the pretty gdlk overhead crossup, with mixup -> 214d -> j.c (reverse) -> dash -> 5b -> 3c blahblahblah.

You live in MI, why do you never come to events and casuals? WE NEED A TAO PLAYER!

I think he meant "when they decided to make XDest a mod, I thought he would be a great choice". XDest posts in Netplay General Thread, so it's not like he's not posting anymore or appearing just a few times.

Edit: Anyway, I don't think the forum needs 2 mods at all since this forum is...you know...dead as fuck. Just tell XDest to do his job, if he don't...well, then people choose a new mod.

I check every time there's new posts on this board. It's just that doesn't happen very often, so it doesn't really need much moderation.

I agree about cleaning though, I'll look into that.

EDIT: Moved all CT/CS1 posts to the archive. Updating any things that are still relevant to CS2 info within the week. If you're still playing online, please make another new reply in the online Taokaka players thread to put yourself on the active players list.

Ugh, the matchup forums need to be completely redone.

It's all just CT info that's no longer relevant. Well, it looks like some work indeed has to be done to get everything here up to date.

Matchup forums are now completely reset for obvious reasons. I'm going to start posting a good amount of info in them this month. Should also help increase my own knowledge of CS2 to get this down on paper.

Nothing is deleted, just moved to the archive forum.

Alright guys. Good to see the boards getting a big revamp. I'll do my best to contribute from here on out. I'm going to work on posting my opinions on all of the matchups in the next few days and also I've been working on a project that I will post up once I'm finished with it. Let's try to get these boards active again :3

Tao's 6B only combos without CH against a few characters. It's easier to combo against Hazama, but I also remember you can do it against Noel and Litchi.
