and any support you can offer by showing up to his event won't just enrich our local scene, it enriches the national scene. Cultural exchange between regions breeds advancement and success in all regions

I'm gonna ask even though I'm gonna regret it, So assume a guy from Texas is on the fence about where to go, East or West. Now you bring up the idea of going to the East as a way of enriching the National scene by means melding cultures. Is that to say the same thing couldn't happen if said Texan came to the West???? You're giving off the assumption that WC is uncultured and primitive. Its the same likelihood a person from Texas could help fuse the National scene together if he went to West as opposed to East.

Now please note, I'm not hating on Florida's scene or anything by those means. But you can't try to and talk about it like its a sales pitch. It isn't, its a decision based on what a traveling player would want. Chance at higher payout or chance at EVO seeding(Provided its an SF player). Why should players suffer consequences of losing respect or losing fans or any of that bullshit when they pick the option in their best interest?? Sadly, thats what the players have to do now who are on the fence. But they shouldn't be looked down on for they're choice by either side nor should they be subject to influence from outside sources.

And please keep the "West coast has a huge ego" thing out of this. I do not wanna have to sit through another WC vs EC who is better argument again. Shit gets old really fast.

I propose that a) a mod cleans out all the debate and b) that FL stop pimping CEO in this thread.

There's a whole lot of he said/she said bullshit going on here, so let's all just agree to disagree and move forward. Both sides are committed to their tourney, so be mad somewhere else.

Agreed. Like 1/4 of this thread has become "hey, fuck the tournament this thread is about,

you should all come to this other tournament because we're more legit."

Dats deep shit bro. *rubs imaginary beard*

But seriously a player traveling anywhere is going to enrich the national scene. Thats why, everyone from the east coast will go to revelations and everyone from the west coast will go to CEO.

Ok seriously now, I wish CEO the best but stop with this repping ours tourney is better than yours in there tourney thread. Keep that in your own thread. Its disrespectful. This type of conflict will become more common as the scene grows. So lets all get use to it now and be civil.

If it makes CEO feel any better, I could not have possibly ever afforded going to Florida in the first place.

More seriously, I can understand everyone's frustrations. sorry for everything, everyone. :sweatdrop:

Hopefully everyone can remain peaceful.

Actually, I meant the cultural-enrichment thing in more of a touchy-feely "let's all hold hands and level up together" kinda way. Wasn't really trying to start any kind of beef at all. (I'm serious. I've lost my taste for e-fights over the years. Trash talk's not my thing.)

Where somebody goes is their own business, and I do realize that for the real contenders it is a real, substantial choice between an EVO seed on another coast and a very large pot closer to home. And honestly, you're probably not the kind of person I was trying to appeal to with my post, because you sound like you've already made up your mind. (That's not intended to sound condescending. You weighed the options carefully and made your decision. That's perfectly valid.)

But I'm sure there ARE people reading this thread who are still weighing their options, and I was mostly trying to appeal to people who might have been first seriously considering CEO right up until word of ReveLAtions hit. If you had the intent to go all the way to Orlando that weekend until something closer to home popped up, and you had realistic prospects of being able to meet that commitment to travel -- I encourage you not to shelve CEO as an option just yet. That is all I meant to convey with my post, and nothing more.

(If you're a TX player or somewhere else midway between LA and Orlando...I realize things are a bit stickier. But I hope you will give CEO a fair consideration nonetheless, and I respect whatever decision you arrive at -- it IS a real choice.) I just feel like a Florida event needs a little more CIVIL hype than a Cali event does because, let's face it, you guys are the center of activity anyway. We're trying hard to make a similar name for our scene, but so far luck has not been on our side. While there's certainly no malice behind this scheduling conflict with ReveLAtions, it sure doesn't make things easier for us.

And please keep the "West coast has a huge ego" thing out of this. I do not wanna have to sit through another WC vs EC who is better argument again. Shit gets old really fast.

Since this is the Internet, I should have clarified to say that I didn't actually mean to imply WC has swollen egos. It was meant as a playful, completely un-serious invitation, not a hot-blooded "you guys think you're such hot shit" kinda deal. I don't actually believe that WC in general has any sort of ego problem. I regret that my tone was misinterpreted.

That is my last word(s) on the subject.

Its all good, I'll see all you west coast guys at EVO, I had a good amount of fun in 2009 and I expect it to be even better this year. BB has a spot at EVO!!!!!

Everyone going to Revelations especially the best WC/TX players, please don't let Tokido(if he goes) take your money, we are going to make sure it doesn't happen at FR.

Have fun players!

Careful, he might actually play this game now.

Heh heh.

We're not worried, you still can't block ;)

I kid, I kid. I think it was you I met at NCR with Kugler and Spirit Juice? If not it was some other bang player; you all look alike :keke:

HAHA Shoutouts to all Bang players being twins. Who knew everyone in the world who played Bang looked like Tokido:keke:

not really... at SBO a lot of Bang players doesn't look alike

I sure as hell hope not. I was being sarcastic but that brought up a scary thought...What if all the Bang players in the world looked like Dacidbro...I think i'd shoot myself with a nuke and pray I take out 1000 of them in the process.

Whoa you guys are serious, I thought it was just a joke. But I just heard about the 2 tournaments happening on the same day (2 majors happening at once, crazy).

However, Cali vs Florida thing is a bit silly. I will say this much; why would you underestimate players you have not ran into or understand how they play?

I can vouch that Cali does have a big ego.

- "Welcome to California!" is said during the end of the trailer Revelations.

- When TGS makes a post, nuff said.

- Dacidbro talking down on Texas before SBO quals, and still talks down on how free the event will be for him while in Texas. I post up, defending Texas but in a rude manner, lol.

End results: Dacid got put on blast not just on stream and in a drunken money match.

That's just to name a few things.

Sorry if I'm adding fuel to the fire, but I felt like some of this needed to be said.

Bottom line: talking down on other states is cool and all to build tension, but don't convince yourself that the other states are "bad". This will actually be the downfall of your game.

Funny thing is that, even when I talk down on players, I still don't feel like I have the edge over them.

The only time I ever felt like I had an edge over a player was seeing Tokido play. But I guess I'll never find out the end result for myself, seeing as how I'm done with the game.

STAY SALTY, MEEEEEEEEEEEE!!

Umm we don't have a big ego. I put "California" in the promo because the event is in.. Umm.. California. Lol.

It's not like "THAT'S MIKEZ, WELCOME TO ALASKA! COME JUNE, TO PHEONIX ARIZONA" :v:.. I made it relevant.

PNW has fantastic players. From SBO quals, Texas does too. But you're the only one that has a big ego, Jan came quietly to SCR and we all had a good time.

If anything, yes, we DO want to create tension, so that top players WILL show up (I mean f'ckin LORD KNIGHT is planning for this already, and he could've gone to CEO easy).

You can stay salty, even saltier than me (Which is pretty f'ckin salty, ask anyone)

Ps: TGS doesn't represent the entirety of Californias 40 million+ people.. lol..

I remember when I thought this website was a useful venue of information. It makes me sad to think of how mis-led I was back then.

It actually was a venue of pretty good information, prior to BBCT console release.
