Sourenga Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Does anyone know the jump startup frames in this game Vatista wiki has listed something like that, but it's data from the vanilla and missing Chaos and Akatsuki. Pretty much every character (except Wald) seems to have 4-5 frames start-up.
Surf Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Alright thanks. Hopefully the data's the same. Brushing up on all the info I can before next month  Shielding has been somewhat confusing me lately. I may be wrong but from what I've seen, read, has been told to me I guess when your in neutral you can hold the shield like barrier. Blocking the first hit of something in this instance doesn't cost 10 exs and you shave off 3 frames of blockstun among other benefits. But Guard Shield is when your shield during blockstun and you press D right before another move connects. Sort of like IBing. But this time it costs 10 exs each time, pushes the opponent back if your successful, and has all the benefits of normal Shielding. But you lose 1 GRD if you fail to time it correctly. Xiei was mentioning back in September how it's hard to time Shielding because of the free form gatling system and I was confused as to what he meant. But now I see he probably meant Guard Shielding. Not sure if I'm correct though.
malaka47 Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Hey! Do you have the name of good Carmine et Eltnum player please?
Putin Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 I watched a Carmine combo video posted somewhere in the last few pages, but I don't recall seeing any combo which would setup a Maware. Is it no longer a thing? I remember watching Carmine before Exe:Late and most people would lockdown the opponent with the wheel after every single combo, which I thought was Carmine's specialty anyway. Â Also, how do his Dissolves actually function? I know they are placed down after using certain specials, while they turn into actual attacks when they're triggered again by... the same types of moves that set them down? What's their use though? Is it like how Relius makes his own pressure gaps safe using Ignis' normals?
caiooa Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Shielding has been somewhat confusing me lately. I may be wrong but from what I've seen, read, has been told to me I guess when your in neutral you can hold the shield like barrier. Blocking the first hit of something in this instance doesn't cost 10 exs and you shave off 3 frames of blockstun among other benefits. if in neutral you hold shield, it drains meter proportionaly to how much time you have hold 4/2/7D. And while you are holding it, you can't change between standing and crouch. You have to let go of the D button (and it have some recovery, while you are open to attacks), and while you are holding D button it let you completely open to grd break. Â When you get throw from a shield, when you get hit by a low while doing a high shield, and when you get hit by a overhead while doing a low shield, you stay in grd break state. Can't use B+C, assault, shield, your grd go to zero and you can't gain any grd in the next seconds. It pretty much let your opponent get grd vourpal (and acess to chain shift) in the next cicle. Â But Guard Shield is when your shield during blockstun and you press D right before another move connects. Sort of like IBing. But this time it costs 10 exs each time, pushes the opponent back if your successful, and has all the benefits of normal Shielding. But you lose 1 GRD if you fail to time it correctly. When it connect, both shield and guard shield reward you with a increase in GRD. Buth the reward of guard shield is much bigger (Xie said normal shield is 1 block, guard shield is 2-3). It definitively change the tides of who will get grd vorpal state (and acess to chain shirft). Â Xiei was mentioning back in September how it's hard to time Shielding because of the free form gatling system and I was confused as to what he meant. But now I see he probably meant Guard Shielding. Not sure if I'm correct though. In melty blood, you can chain attacks from weak to strong or to strong to weak freely (in Crescent moon or Half moon). The only things to consider is that you can't use the same normal 2 times in a chain, and that every time you make a reverse chain (from a stronger attack to a weaker), there's a extra prorate during the next 3s ("reverse beat"). Â In Unib, this extra prorate don't exist. And if you acess normals with the autocombo, it let you bypass the "1 one of the same attack" limit. Like in melty blood, the window for canceling a normal into another is not so strict (like marvel). This open the possibility to timing variations...of canceling earlier or later. So, it's not so easy to read the timing and what normal is coming on in a blockstring to Guard Shield it. This last line will be my expeculation: maybe it can be easier to Guard Shield special attacks with multi hit, as the timing between the hits don't change (i'm saying it because in melty blood, it's easier to ex-guard this kind of attack). Â As a curiosity: you can chain from a stronger to a weaker attack in dfc too, but just in some special situations. After a combo blast or after using a dengeki icon (while there's still blue meter that the icon create).
Falco252 Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 If someone whiffs cancels to a 5A and the opponent shield, does he have time to dash throw as a punish? That would make it pretty dangerous too. Â But wow didn't know they removed the reverse beat penalty
malaka47 Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Carmine: Adder, Notes. Mysterious Eltnum: Senaru. Thank you I was many fight of Senaru, but i don't knew this name, he's very strong.

Surf Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Explanation  Thanks for that. The last thing I've been wondering is if Assault has landing recovery frames. I wouldn't be surprised if it did but does anyone know for sure
Fistmaster049 Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Thanks for that. The last thing I've been wondering is if Assault has landing recovery frames. I wouldn't be surprised if it did but does anyone know for sure I believe it does but slightly less than a normal jump  (might also depend on if you used a normal during assault as well)Â
Sojoro Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I watched a Carmine combo video posted somewhere in the last few pages, but I don't recall seeing any combo which would setup a Maware. Is it like how Relius makes his own pressure gaps safe using Ignis' normals? Â I can very much say yes to the last question since blood wheel is used for frame traps and setting up more dissolves (oki, etc.). Not entirely sure how his Dissolves are triggered when placed by his various specials, but they can be moved with his Force Function (B+C), set with Rip Apart, etc. I believe they're used mostly for spacing and zoning purposes so Carmine can get in. Â KK has a breakdown of him, if that helps: http://www.kusogekings.com/forum/m/19535873/viewthread/13289249-hyahahaha-devour-them-carmine-gameplay-discussion-thread/post/last#last
Surf Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I believe it does but slightly less than a normal jump  (might also depend on if you used a normal during assault as well)  Since when did normal jumps have landing recovery
LordSpectreX Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Neither Normal or Assault Jump have any landing recovery. The weakness of Assault is it's slow start-up, uncancelable normals and inability to block during it (along with increased proration on starters done from it.)Â The move I compare it the most too is Chizuru's 66 dash in Aquapazza.
Surf Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 That's what I figured. I just wouldn't be surprised if Assault did indeed have landing recovery. But alright that's all I needed to clarify
LordSpectreX Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 That's what I figured. I just wouldn't be surprised if Assault did indeed have landing recovery. But alright that's all I needed to clarify  I can't say with certainty, but if there is, it's incredibly minute.
caiooa Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 the wiki list some other details about assault http://in-birth.wikia.com/wiki/System#Assault_.28.E3.82.A2.E3.82.B5.E3.83.AB.E3.83.88.29
