White Man Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Its coming to the US. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?p=119571332#post119571332 Oh man, I feel like getting drunk and setting off a bunch of fireworks all over again to celebrate this game coming to our glorious, glorious country. U! S! A! U! S! A!
Tachyons Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Has it been confirmed if the Aksys localization will/will not have a disc copy?
Kurushii Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Aksys is handling the localization for UNIEL themselves. As Surf tried to clear up, BBCP localization was handled all by ASW. The NA version missing Library Mode wasn't Aksys's decision. After the backlash from fans they plans to never make that bad decision again on future titles that have a similar feature. So trust me they are listening. They are still VERY early in the planning stages for how they are going to approach the game, so you'll have to wait to see what they are going to do with the title.
Tenryuga Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Hey guys I'm trying to decide on a character. Which ones cater toward agressive / passive-aggressive footsies and have a generally balanced toolset? Sent from my BlackBerry 9780 using Tapatalk
arvelous Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Sounds like you want to play a Main Character other than that you're looking at specialties who are lacking a generally balanced tool-set. But, very strong in there own set of game.
Hecatom Posted July 7, 2014 Author Posted July 7, 2014 My recomendation is wait for when the game is released and see what character do you feel suits you better.
stickystaines Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 I'd probably say hyde, but your description is still pretty broad; could fit many characters.
Tenryuga Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Hmm...then could you guys explain the perks and flaws of Gordeau, Eltnum and Orie? I'm the most interested in those 3 from the play I have seen. Sent from my BlackBerry 9780 using Tapatalk

Stellarcircle5 Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Gordeau: + Massive range on normals and specials, consistent damage output, very strong spacing game, command grab that saps the opponents GRD gauge, completely amazing special in Grim Reaper. - Limited mobility (can't think of much else) Eltnum: + Above average mobility, high damage, strong pressure, competent spacing game with select moves. - Does not seem to excel at any one aspect of gameplay. Orie: + Decent pressure, select tools for space control, strong oki and mixup game (even stronger with meter), good mobility. - Can get out-footsied by many characters, does not have a true DP without meter, mostly momentum based, damage output is pretty average. Hope this helps.
Dandy J Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 From my limited knowledge: Gordeau is all about long range space control/bust out w/ grim reaper and turn it into close up frame adv w/ meter. Midrange he has slide which is hella good and leads to confirmable combo. Close up mixup w/ 2b and command grab. His overhead is mega slow and he doesn't have a meterless dp. His 2A isn't low and he's doesn't have typical melty-style close up rapidfire rushdown. Kinda slow movement. Eltnum seems the most well rounded of the three. Some long range normals w/ tripwire, fullscreen gun super that is safe from a certain range and leads into reload + combo. Meterless dp, standing overhead into combo. Traditional melty up close rushdown. Fast movement. Pressure w/ gunshots. Disadvantage...maybe none? At least nothing major. Orie is missing the long range normals of Eltnum, but is one of the select characters with an unreactable mixup w/ assault~j.A, either set up from the big orb EX move or canceled with chain shift. And she has the jump over stuff w/ the knight guy that seems annoying to block.

Sent from my BlackBerry 9780 using Tapatalk keep in mind the game is japan only, arcade only for now. Almost everybody here have never played and is just saying based on the book/videos they saw. I would go with what Hecatom said, specially because there's new characters comming.
TITANIUM BEAST!!! Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Do we have any proof the game is confirmed day 1 digital? Would like to save a few bucks by skipping a physical copy, if possible.
Zouf Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Watching more and more vids, and one thing I really noticed is : the lack of cross up really kills what little mixup characters tend to have. Most rounds last for at least 70 to 80 seconds, and the only way to break the opponent guard is to win the neutral game. That's even more noticeable in high level matches. I'm really afraid it might kill the fun in the long term. Looks like FB was so afraid of doing another Melty Blood that they completely nerfed that aspect of the fighting games.
SolxBaiken Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Do we have any proof the game is confirmed day 1 digital? Would like to save a few bucks by skipping a physical copy, if possible. It's been stated and displayed ever since the announcement, there's pretty much no reason to believe it will drop at a later date. Day 1 digital is pretty much common for all Japanese releases nowadays.
Kikirin Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 ...the only way to break the opponent guard is to win the neutral game. I'm sold. This is something I wish more games would do.
NeoStrayCat Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Has it been confirmed if the Aksys localization will/will not have a disc copy? Nothing's been mentioned yet for that, but wait until the usual PR stuff for it to come out, of course though if anyone went to AX and said if its also coming retail, they would have known, but we'll have to wait for an answer sooner or later.
kojibeoulve Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Most rounds last for at least 70 to 80 seconds, and the only way to break the opponent guard is to win the neutral game. Then good thing this is big ass normals: the game, and pressure is still really strong considering a lot of the cast lack a meterless invincible reversal, and a whiffed or blocked invincible reversal can't be made safe by anything.
NitroNoodlez Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 A treat for my fellow future Seth players. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwZjVKC5F7M Are there any other notable Seths aside from Rion?
Sourenga Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Are there any other notable Seths aside from Rion? Rank 4 Seth player Ohittou (奥州筆頭) is pretty much the only other notable player. It's been ages since I last saw RIP Ranking No.2 TTK or No.3 Hazumun playing... There's a whole lot of Seth players with over one million RIP points, but only Kai, LUTE and Aya can sometimes be seen playing.
DopeLenny Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 I'm a little late to the party, but sweet, UNIB's coming to America. I might still import it, as 2015 is a long ways away and I'm tired of waiting to play this game, lol. I'll also get the English version when it drops. Gotta show some love to based Aksys.
Surf Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 I really hope they release a new mook shortly after console. In the last one for the vanilla version for some odd reason they thought only the characters ex moves, infinite worth, 5/2A's were the only relevant numbers we should know. I know the jp wiki has a couple frames and properties down but still.
Putin Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Watching more and more vids, and one thing I really noticed is : the lack of cross up really kills what little mixup characters tend to have. This is why I'm concerned about Carmine. Very good pressure, but virtually no mixup and he needs to sacrifice health in order to keep pressuring. It seems really hard to open up a patient player, which potentially kills what Carmine is good at
Kirnupiima Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 As a relatively new player I, too, am worried about this. Just when I've barely learned the basic mixup tools in BB and GG there's this game where those don't immediately apply. Scary stuff :D The crossup protection doesn't really change that much IMO, it only shifts the moment to change the block direction from the previous crossup apex into the moment of landing. (You can't really do running jump over opponent and airdash back ->hit anymore though.) The noob struggle is real. This is why I'm concerned about Carmine. Very good pressure, but virtually no mixup and he needs to sacrifice health in order to keep pressuring.
