Eltnum army is the way to go. Bring back that Melty swag and body everyone. Fake tier list or not it's almost understandable why she's placed so high.

Eltnum is definitely one of the character's I'm more excited to try. She has a lot of good skins (notable standouts of Transylvania Ghost, Neo Venus and Black Barrel), I really like her tool set and then there is of course that "Melty swag", haha. It helps that Blood Drain -Again- is probably my favorite track in the game.

I know i'm interested in Merkava most, then Carmine, followed by Gordeau, but then there's Eltnum. She looks really interesting to me, but then again, most everyone is interesting except Batista (and I find Waldstein to be a bit meh to watch).

2 questions:

Does anyone know the situation on dash -> block in this game? Is there dash recovery and the like? If so can you dash -> shield to protect yourself in situations where you would have gotten hit from recovery?

And why does Gordeau's 236A sometimes doesn't reel them back in despite hitting them twice? Does 236A(1) still hit twice even though you haven't put in the 2nd 236A yet?

I know nothing about dash recovery and how easy you can or can't get hit out of it, but I'm fairly certain that the first 236 in the Mortal Slide series does actually hit twice. If you just do one 236 he throws out the scythe and then swings it up diagonally for the second hit, which knocks opponents away. If you input the second 236 he pulls it back directly towards him (turning his upper body for the pull, as opposed to the simple diagonal swing), pulling the opponent in. The animation is pretty similar, but it is different.

Not long ago, someone asked Xie about this...he said that akatsuki can cancel his dash animation into block, but that he haven't tested this with other characters...so he couldn't say if everyone can do this.

Pretty sure he just means canceling your dash into shield for safety. Ive been wondering about that too. Same can be done in GG and BB with barrier

That's what his "Mortal Slide" move always looks like if the player doesn't cancel it into the follow-up move "Shade Harvest" which reels the opponent back.

There is no dash recovery in UNIEL. Dash is cancelable into Shield, Throw and Specials (and obviously Chain Shift). Apparently you can pretty easily bait reversals with close range dash + instant cancel... Well, anyways this is all information from Vatista wiki - I hope it's up-to-date.

Rion's new Seth combo movie is on Nico. Someone also posted a Gordeau movie that used Destrade's notes as a source...

Well not recovery in the sense of cancelling into some action like a special/jump/chain shift etc, but purely recovery from just transitioning from dash to block. So if i were to dash and hold 1, how many frames from that point will i actually start blocking attacks.

Now that I was reading about the crossup protection in this game, how come people get hit by stuff like Vatista j.C etc? are they just not blocking? also how do you mix people up then? just high/low/throw?

Assuming it's like melty blood, Crossup protection only protects you from any jump-in if you hold in the direction the opponent is facing. What that means is if they land you have to switch blocks because it changes their faced direction. That was the basis for the Sandoori in Melty. So provided you have a setup for it,  you should be able to do Front High/Front Low/Crossup Empty Jump Low or Mid, or whatever else you can hit the opponent with given your character's tools.

I've definitely at least seen some Carmine players hit people with some really dirty stuff,.

French Bread is holding an illustration contest. Seems like it's Japan only.

It doesn't exactly say that. It says that the prizes can only be delivered into addresses within Japan, but it doesn't say Western people can't participate... So if you don't need the prize and just want fame (?) and your picture posted on the official site, you can participate just fine.

Also,

it seems that LL Akihabara is having free plays tomorrow and it will be streamed at the usual place.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. Guess I was reading it wrong.

Still, I would have wanted one of those card cases signed by Under Night's main artist!

Stream's now up.

They had some audio problems, but it's ok now.

Kome is beating King Engine around...

Edit: Or maybe not... It's offline again...  Back online, Fuse VS Nedi going on!

Does anyone know if the colors in this game are all original or do they have a reference behind them like on skull girls.

Posted

A lot of them are classic color combinations that give contrast (like green/orange, blue/yellow, black/red, pink/white, dark grey/golden, etc), others make referes to archetypes (ganguro, zombie, vampire, police officer, shrine maiden, etc).

But there are references here and there...some are more obvious and people have easily reconized.

Eltnum have some colors from melty blood characters (sion, vsion, wlen)

Walldenstein have some colors from iron tager and sol badguy.

Akatsuki may have references to other characters from akatsukiblitzkampf and gundam characters too...

Say it isn't so with the auto-combo? My 100% support has plummeted 15% since learning of it yesterday. I know it won't break the system or get you far competitively but come on! Make a stylish mode if you want to cater to inexperienced players instead of affecting the whole community. I'll still consider to play it since I've been dying to play another MB after all of these years, I'm just hoping other fighters don't come with this mechanic or I'm just retiring soon.

Looking forward to the wiki improving one of these days the more I visit it.

Yeah, I hate it when people can get a degree of reward for making correct reads while you steadily teach them the importance of neutral, blocking, throwtechs and situational punishes.

Sasashima has uploaded their recent UNIEL Tournament.

Kanji player "Oboro" is apparently participating as Vatista...

Also,

ImagineWeb has announced their retailer bonus for UNIEL. It's a nearly A1 sized poster of Orie! Sofmap has also listed that they will be having an exclusive Original Telephone Card" as a retailer bonus, but there are no pictures of it. Gamers has listed Original Microfiber Mini Towel as their retailer bonus.

Does ImagineWeb allow consumers outside of the country to order? Most likely no though, but I really like that Orie poster. :vbang:

Too bad I already pre-ordered the game on AmiAmi :v:

Its not big deal, something like an artbook, that would be too bad ( I already pre-ordered the game on AmiAmi too.)
