Hecatom, you should really put "Console version unannounced" in the title of the thread so people will quit asking.

Done

Interesting, sometime ago, only mods were able to change the thread tittles

:)

Edit

It seems that no one wants to theorize about the gameplay based on the videos :/

What's there to theorize? This is all competent play, so things are being shown off right rather than be glimpsed at, it would be much sweeter if we could actually play it and test out other things, and honestly I'm STILL confused about how Yuzu works exactly.

Also I've been commenting on things about (the ones I found interesting) characters as I completed their vids;

- Gordeau does INSANE damage for little effort (his "Grim Reaper" attack where he spins the scythe also seems to be relatively safe D:)

- Seth's projectile and teleports are going to make for some interesting mixup/oki games ("DO I FRIGHTEN YOU!?")

- Linne is a poor man's Seth in nearly every way

- Yuzu has some awesome combos but still not 100% sure how her charged ABC system works, but it looks sweet (even her aerial attacks look good :D)

- Markava looks absolutely vicious and is the most mobile character (having a back run and great aerial mobility with his "flight", also his hitbox doesn't look nearly as big as it appears, also he seems to be able to block relatively easy, not sure if he has to legit cancel flight to do it or not, also wonder what his maximum flight time and height is, height doesn't look "too" great as he doesn't really leave the screen and it keeps good track of both characters)

- Carmine looks pretty cool but really risky as he literally bleeds to attack his opponent, not all of the moves take life but without a way to recover he's gonna be a high risk/reward character

- Hyde actually looks like alot of fun for being the "main character", like his DP follow ups and his projectile is really nice!

- Orie is alot more boring than I thought she'd be...maybe Mitsu spoiled fencing for me lol (also she does REALLY bad against real zoners it looks like, she nearly got double perfected against Varista)

- I notice that there is "base" damage an then a GRD bonus, does this really alter depending on the GRD lvl?

- speaking of how do you take over/regain GRD?

- Veil Off bonuses?

No theorizing on Vatista?

Well, she is basically just a zoner anyway--seems KINDA like Rachel, but not exactly.

I'm surprised she isn't more like Lambda, given their similarities in designs (robot/emotionless girl, has a bunch of bladed objects floating behind them, floats at all times).

Eh wasn't feeling her, she looked really boring for me, but I'm not into pure zoners, and it was sad seeing her just effectively lock out Orie.

I would try out Vatista, but I HATE HATE HATE Charge-style inputs.

Seth looks like he will impress me, although he is a rushdown type character.

Also... why the announcer change? The old announcer was fine.

My interests are as follows: Yuzu > Gordeau > Markava > Hyde > Carmine

Also they have yet to be confirmed yaoi bait (either really, really GOOD friends or really, really BAD friends)

Those 3 are who I'll be looking into. But my order as of now is probably Gordeau = Markava > Yuzu.

She's more like Lambda/Mu than she is like Rachel gameplay-wise.

Trying her anyway even though charge-style inputs are making me lean towards Carmine...

don't think so in the projectile area. It looks like seth needs to create fear first to use it well.

just found video of this game from shoryuken. You can definitely tell it was made by French Bread and reading the setting synopses, it looks like they're taking a few notes from Kinoko Nasu (not that there's anything wrong with that). I'm just weirded out by how so many character have OUTRAGEOUS reach and pokes (like Yuzuriha, Gordeau, Merkava, Waldstein, and even Hyde to some degree). I'm not 100% liking the character design, but that might change. Definitely keeping an eye on this as I am a HUGE Melty Blood fan.

The range game will be interesting, but everyone seems competent at all ranges even if they lack the long normals (like Linne and Seth) cause they make up for it with great spacing tools, so it shouldn't be too bad. It will just be interesting overall to fight.

Also yeah Linne's projectiles aren't NEARLY as godly as Seth's but they have very similar gameplans and it just seems like Seth is more technical while Linne is more beginner friendly, Linne projectile seems to be good for lockdown and can probably be used as a decent meaty on it's own.

Personally, I find this game's spacing to be pretty cool. You don't see many fighters were nearly all the cast is a threat from far away.

BRING ON THE CHARGE.

this is oddly reminiscent of parasoul

in the way that everybody is getting hype for something that they'll end up dropping in two months

lol airdashes cost 10meter to do oh noesssss im fucked

How so? Pretty much every character has at least one of the following to make up for air dashes:

Command dash

Teleport

Hook/pull move

Full-screen normals

Full-screen zoning/spacing tools.

and the airdash is more of a forward double-jump if you ask me. Doesn't seem to important to do cross-up setups or to get in on someone.

Who says that this is gonna flop? The next work by French Bread is NOT going to flop here.

Oh it'll flop here alright, if they even decide to port it, which is highly doubtful. It'll

maybe

have a solid following in Japan, though.

10 meter really is nothing, you seem to get more than enough meter throughout the course of fights (IIRC I saw Linne do her Infinite Worth twice in a round) so it should be fine, you probably make that back from landing a Normal.

And I'm sure the Melty community will welcome the game (one way or another); at worst it'll be like BB, at best SF3. And if it were given the chance for domestic release I'm sure it would have a nice cult following (which if it gets a console/PC port I expect from importers anyways)

Dis man is so srs. lmfao i was just joking around since i have a retarded habit of airdashing every other jump i do.

If the range was limited to a select few I'd be more concerned, but seeing how everyone has the range I'm interested in seeing how this develops, the poking and spacing game will probably more vital, especially with the ability to move around before a round starts.

There will probably be an extra layer of mind games added to neutral because you'll be in a constant state of danger.

That is, unfortunately, probably very true. I'm sure the MB community will embrace it due it being made by French Bread, but MB fans are pretty niche as far as fighting game fandoms go (especially outside of Japan). Dojin fighters in general tend to be forgotten very quickly.
