St1ckBuG Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 What's a good major in Canada to go to? EVO can eat a dick, so I want to plan for another major other than the 3v3 BB qualifier.
Bibiquadium Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Who's up for some Foonzo action tonight? Many people seems to be willing to come, might as well verify with others.

Leo7 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 i am deeply hurt that you're only asking this in MTL thread and not Toronto thread when Toronto was first to go NEC =( ur hurting me bro Your salt fuels me sir. MTL is 10x more gdlk than Toronto. Better learn to hold that shit sir. Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk
Brice Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 yea but mtl was teh hype last NEC (ect too I guess?) :P no but seriously I don't know what/when/where we should do an animu major in canada just to rub it in a bit more for Evo, I thought about it last night and people are saying that we don't support our game enough... what I'm thinking more is, people playing blazblue at major only play blazblue while people playing sf will probably play the shitty sf spinoff (looking at you sf x t not even out yet) and I think it's the same for the majority of the capcom games people don't main one game hell I don't really know a lot of people maining mk only... but for bb and animu lol it's everyone... what I want to say is not having games like bb at evo will not bring more people physically to the event but more entrants to thw tourneys since random mvc player WILL play sf x t I can guarantee it and probably will play ae2012 altogether so yeah they "support" their games...
Bibiquadium Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 (edited) Our spinoff would be... Battle Fantasia? Uprising, Lots of Guilty Gear players simply deserted our game and moved to Capcom stuff. I also believe that most scenes doesn't really do much, its not by sitting in Foonzo playing BB that we'll get exposure and not everyone will step on Dustloop and such to know about the game, a different step has to be taken to show our town that there is a present scene for this type of games. When I was once a netplay warrior I spotted so many people from nearby and told them about Sankishin but they were somehow afraid to join in, and stayed behind. There must be an appealing way to catch people's attention in one way or an other. And having a major in Montreal and have it advertised through publicity throughout the city will most likely catch peoples attention, new and old players. Edited January 4, 2012 by Bibiquadium
Zeero Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 (edited) MTL is 10x more gdlk than Toronto. you're exposing the salt refinery that toronto is sir. MTL stay godlike. Toronto stay fraudulent. GG players move onto SF because BB is too simple (compared to GG) and SF has that moneys. Sent from my Work Laptop using Google Chrome edit: yo Nini, looks like Leo is picking on your girl Roldy, do something about this shit Edited January 4, 2012 by Zeero
Leo7 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 What's Nini gonna do to stop me from raping Roldy's face off. p.s. I don't agree with banning DLC characters. The platinum ban was only requested cause certain people in Toronto hate lolis that's all. They'd ban Rachel too if they had any say in it.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted January 4, 2012 Author Posted January 4, 2012 someone told me they cant even dash/airdash properly in BB and returned it. clearly BB A+B should be dash, and not FD at the end of the day, its just branding, umvc3 has a lot of "airdashers" elements in it and people who "hates airdashers" still play and love that game. in fact, me having to call games "airdashers" is already a silly sign. I swear kof is considered an "airdasher" even though nobody actually airdashes. I am not surprised by this at all. The reasons for people hating BB is oxymoronic because they play umvc3. Like I've said earlier I've seen this with my friends. airdasher = another word for "lesser played games" This is the quote for all of dustloop. It must be sigged. The only people I usually see ENTER the BB scene are people who never played real fighters before and have BB as their first fighter. For everyone one of them there's ten who don't like it because FGs are too hard though. That's an exaggeration. There are people who just like ArcSys games, like myself. What's a good major in Canada to go to? EVO can eat a dick, so I want to plan for another major other than the 3v3 BB qualifier. T13/MAT8, one in Toronto one in Montreal. I plan on attending both, get hype. Canada needs UnsancxBlade to happen again. TTT2 can't come soon enough I know you're a tekken player but, I don't understand what that has to do with anything. Who's up for some Foonzo action tonight? Many people seems to be willing to come, might as well verify with others. If I was told about this by yesterday I would've come No biggy I'll be there tomorrow, I feel like doing 866 and pressing buttons. i am deeply hurt that you're only asking this in MTL thread and not Toronto thread when Toronto was first to go NEC =( ur hurting me bro Everyone in Canada is posting here right now. Our spinoff would be... Battle Fantasia? Uprising, Lots of Guilty Gear players simply deserted our game and moved to Capcom stuff. There must be an appealing way to catch people's attention in one way or an other. And having a major in Montreal and have it advertised through publicity throughout the city will most likely catch peoples attention, new and old players. We're falling into the age old issue of "getting your game proper exposure". Sent from my Work Laptop using Google Chrome I'll assume this is a troll move. p.s. I don't agree with banning DLC characters. The platinum ban was only requested cause certain people in Toronto hate lolis that's all. They'd ban Rachel too if they had any say in it. You forgot how I didn't oppose banning Platinum. I don't like platinum either Fighting game exposure, this is the reason I've been pushing for us to have a site, a youtube channel, and a poster at foonzo. This is the type of thing that gives the game in this city proper exposure. This just lets people know that people play this game in the city. I've heard quite a few stories about people dropping BB because they didn't know there were people playing this game in montreal. Something like that needs to stop. Making people aware that there is a city and we're serious will help us, not really running tournaments. Tournaments/majors/wtv is just to strengthen the bond between communities, which it does its job. Further more: It's about umvc3 but there's a lot to learn from it.
Rhannmah Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 p.s. I don't agree with banning DLC characters. The platinum ban was only requested cause certain people in Toronto hate lolis that's all. They'd ban Rachel too if they had any say in it. No, the Platinum ban was basically me, Pedro and Brice's call. We felt that the character hadn't been out long enough to be in the tournament. And I still think this was the right decision. It had nothing to do with you TO guys.
mAc Chaos Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 That's an exaggeration. There are people who just like ArcSys games, like myself. I don't mean people who already like BB like you and me. I mean people who are SF players or not part of the community. Someone who likes ArcSys games was never in question; they're already going to be a BB player. But as far as people from outside that group...
Leo7 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 No, the Platinum ban was basically me, Pedro and Brice's call. We felt that the character hadn't been out long enough to be in the tournament. Zeero Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Fighting game exposure, this is the reason I've been pushing for us to have a site, a youtube channel, and a poster at foonzo. Tournaments/majors/wtv is just to strengthen the bond between communities, which it does its job. People in toronto tried that with Gundam at gety, lets just say that site is now closed. let me fix that for you. I've heard quite a few stories about people dropping BB because they didn't know there were people playing this game in montreal. These people do not leave their house and assume no 4 bar connection = no local MTL players. Eventually they are tired of playing laggy games and quit BB before they ever leave the house. They do not realize bad netcode is bad. Something like that needs to stop. Actually who am I kidding. The best players in MTL and Toronto end up being NAHs. Stay home guise
pochp Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Ok well after about 10 seconds bibi came up with a name so here we go, we might change it, but for now, announcing MAD (Montreal Air Dashers) tournament some time in spring 2012. Blazblue will be the main event, and maybe KOF depending on the scene size here in montreal that is currently unknown. Side tournaments will include Gundam Extreme VS 2v2, F-Zero GX and obv GGXXAC, as well as anything else enough people want to play. (for example arcana heart and melty, the scene is too small in montreal, but maybe with outsiders we could have enough) now stop with the negative attitude and let me know what dates you guys can or can't make it out to this. Sent from our BURNING TAMASHI.
Zeero Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 what the hell? no umvc3? no 2012? what kind of tournament in this day and age doesnt have these 2 games? Sent from my love for Capcom games using no brain
pochp Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 There's no umvc3 scene in montreal, so no point, and too many SF players, so we wouldn't have enough space for everyone, because we'd use Foonzo as the venue. I don't even hate Capcom.
AirMaster Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I'd be down for Gundam EX VS 2v2. Gimme a week-end and I'm there
Sophisticat Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Oh man, I love you guys. Great direction this is taking. :D ----- @Blade: We love you. Yes homo. Now come out more! <3 ----- Tourney around march break sounds great. Different march break dates for different ppl, though. Mine is at the end of feb, for ex. We should plan for the time when most of us are off for best convenience. Imo, date priority would go to those outside of MTL for best attendance rate. TO, MI, NY, etc. guys, when's the best time for you?
unsanctifier Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Anytime you guys are comfortable losing your money is a good time for me.
