Anyways, meetup was cool, even though it was just Brice, Nini, and me. I'm guessing midterms will be over now so I'm hoping people start showing up more. Couldn't get the recording to work, I hope it'll be somehow fixed next time because there was nothing I could do about it (I tried), but we had some pretty good casuals. Nini's trolling also leveled up

@Blade : can you update the Tournament thread saying that we'll probably open the HQ Thursday night for our regular meetup anyways, and that Friday even though the "event" starts at 7, we'll open much earlier. Well, unless Brice and Cranky are opposed to this, which would be surprising.

Also, Hakumen combos are super easy. Srsly blade, why the fuck are you dropping those? I thought his combos were hard from listening to Haku mains but they're just "lol".

I messed around in training mode for like 1 hour and I got most of his BnB's down.

I can do them in training mode too, doing things in training mode is different from a match with someone else.

What is the purpose of putting we'll open up thursday in the tournament thread, LK doesn't come till friday no? Is there something I missed:psyduck:

I was doing them in the matches too. Against BRICE and Pedro. Only time I dropped combos was when I got confused on what move I should use depending on my star usage/position on the screen. Honestly, you have no excuse, betta get those combos down bro.

hey blade, maybe some outsiders are coming and want to play the damn game in a relaxed and casual manner without the idea of tournament being around, it helps get people comfortable...O_o

No you didn't miss anything, just saying that we should let people know that in case they're in town a day early and feel like having casuals we'll be having a meetup like usual.

Oh and nini was doing them combos in game. I had to abuse of his lack of matchup knowledge to win

edit : I have to say it was really impressive to see nini get that grab bnb with the hop 5a j.a (I think that's what it is) pickup on the first try and do it consistently, without ever looking at the notation.

I thought Haku combos were legit hard. All Haku mains talk like they're hard and I see a lot of Haku's dropping them like they're some hard arcane shit.

Haku feels weird though. No real DP, no 6A anti air(2C is meh but works sometimes) and differences between his counters made me go crazy. His offense is on some next level shit though.

Also J.C and 4.C mang. Such good troll normals.

They aren't. What'chu talkin' 'bout? o_O

Well, he's got a couple links that can be aggravating, in order of aggravatingness:

- j.2a -> AD j.2a

- Gurren -> hop 5a/b

- [stuff] -> 2c -> sj.C -> fj.C [-> AD j.2a -> etc.]

- 5c x2, 5c/2c (which is where the big dmg comes from)

The last one in particular can be hard depending on how you combo into it. Everything else is based on timing. Also, optimal damage combos are 2-4 stars at most. More than that and you're wasting meter or going for the kill.

Still, getting hop pickups on the first try is pretty good. That took me a couple days of practice. Stay prodigious, Nini.

2c is a terrible AA, no one uses it as an AA in matches. Unless you're going for a corner reset. Even then it's rare for it to be used.

Pedro, for recording i would suggest picking up cranky's old setup. that hauppage will net really high quality. See if he's willing to lend it to us indefinitely or willing to part with it. I can help with making a "setup" to play and record on different screens. I can't help with Streaming though.

Sorry i wasnt there on Sunday, i've been working all weekend on dual/triple modding my stick. So far so good, almost done. Artwork has not arrived yet, but im very anxious to use my own stick on ps3/ps2/xbox, so i don't mind.

Yeah that sounds like an awesome plan I'll have to ask him about it, should be a win-win situation. We'll need to get commentating equipment though, but sounds like a great idea. Do you know if it requires any hardware on the computer?

I had a lot of trouble with like, 623aa > JC > j.2c > 2c > SJC > j.2a etc. Didn't have the patience to practice it much though.

Well... they're hard in lag. <_> Most of my dropped combos are because of my pad. I spend half the match fighting my opponent and the other half fighting my controller.
