It's what I hypothesized, hence why I asked. North America is slowly turning into Japan, "no one really plays this character". Probably will change somewhat in ext. but he doesn't have any raw abusable tactics, keeping a lot of people from playing him.

afaik we have a somewhat ok tourney in January the MAT (mtl annual tournament) in may which is the biggest one in Montreal and there is the "T" tournament in September ish in Toronto

there may be more by that's what I remember right now

There's a SF/Marvel major around jan 14th that we'll see if we can/want to be a part of. The following major is in June, so we might organize something in between and time it so everyone can make it. Let us know when a good time for you is.

I'm pretty sure we can use a venue we know that's downtown, and right next to a hotel, we just need to let them know ahead of time and figure things out with them.

Unless I'm mistaken, I think there was going to be a new major this year in spring in Toronto.

we don't get a lot of foreign players coming up to Canada aside from random gg players who come for sf4/marvel (e.g. marlinpie, nerdjosh), so it'd be nice to see some more foreign faces.

dunno about that spring toronto tourney pedro, but i'll find out about it. although toronto's main major is the "T" series (Toronto fighting game championships), it may or may not happen next year because there might not be an organizer to take up the helm. we'll have to wait and see.
