kaeru Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 @kaeru : how cheap are we talking about? Does it feel the same as an TE stick, like octagonal gate? TE sticks are square gate. And i can get you an octagonal gate if you want one. Since this one is for you i'd give it will definitely be a special price. I can bring it with me if i pass by on Sunday if you wanna check it out. It's brand new in the box right now, i haven't modded it, yet.
kirbster Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Oh ok. I appreciate the offer, I'll have a look at it Sunday then, thanks.
pochp Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Why the fuck did I write tri ace, I still have the try wing tab open... anyways, I think this thread might have the info you need (in the first post) http://shoryuken.com/f177/hori-tekken-6-stick-213492/ there are pictures, so you'll be able to tell if it's like the one you already modded. @Kirbster : Just my opinion, but I prefer square gate. I want some lemonade now
kaeru Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 (edited) I guess I'll be there on Sunday ! No choice now, heh. It's going to rain anyway, not the greatest weather for biking ! The more i think about it the more i think this might be a good middle ground for you kirby, and i've been looking to sell this stick, if i can mod it up for you instead, it would make me happy. I don't wanna mention prices on forum though, i'd rather just talk to you and let you see how it feels. Also, Pedro: bring your PS3 stick, im sure cranky has tools for taking sticks apart somewhere. This is a TORX bit EDIT: I just looked at your link Pedro, it's not the same stick that i modded but it's built exactly the same inside. Buttons directly soldered to the circuit board. It's pretty annoying to work with and there isnt much to see when you open it up. Just crappy buttons. But i don't have the tri wing bit that they seem to be talking about in the forum Edited May 13, 2011 by kaeru
BladeOfJustice7 Posted May 13, 2011 Author Posted May 13, 2011 a Y screwdriver? i'm not sure what that is. I have some flat head, square, star, allan and torx. Trust me bro that's what I said. It is a Y screw head. I guess they don't want their stick opened up that's why. Because I have NEVER EVER seen or heard of a Y head. But then again the stick is a cheap shitstick (No offense Pedro). So I don't think it's worth modding. @Vice I have high standards (YES HOMO). FUUUCCCCKKKK HAY FEVER MY EYES BURN AND MY NOSE IS DRY.
Sophisticat Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 (edited) Americans have such weird standard for screw heads. Good ol' Canadians one-up'ed e'm with nice and simple Phillips, which are, imo, top-tier among screw heads. Now, Tri-Wing is typically used on electronics so it's less common. I also didn't know about it until checking out Wiki. ----- In any case, expect me this Sunday. I crave for my first CS2 session and I have free time. Let's bust out all the consoles we got that have CS2 else demand be higher than supply and *cough* some individuals *cough* run pricing and arbitrage schemes for great profit. I think I'll also try out stick for GG, exceptionally. Anything to make Slayer links easier. Edited May 13, 2011 by Sophisticat
pochp Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 The tri-wing looks like it's used for other video game equipment, and a lot of Nintendo stuff. It looks pretty cheap too, might be worth getting one if there isn't one at the HQ. I don't want to mod that stick by the way, I just want it to stop being fucking retarded and activating the triangle button whenever I press another button, including joystick movements. Blade, no offence taken, I call it like that too. Ugh, kinda tired and I don't like MK, won't go to Foonzo finally. edit : oh shit nolan you just made sunday more hype. Blade if you want to come and bring your box I'll cover your entry fee.
Nini Heart Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 I'll let you judge for yourself, but yeah, start watching high level platium gameplay instead of aiming for the platium trophy. I lol'd. Also blade, it's NEW THREAD TIIME
Sophisticat Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Hey! Trophies are good! They're like those trophies you got as a kid playing baseball/soccer except you can't put them on your shelf! [/slight sarcasm] Brice, you beat the 100 challenges trophy? I just can't seem to be able to put in the effort required to beat them. I'm at 50% complete, btw.
pochp Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 I vote against having a new thread. The old ones get deleted, and this thread is only at 50 pages why are you guys in a hurry? Some achievements are cool if it shows off impressive stuff you did, not like "Cleared Score Attack" or "Defeat every boss in Icecrown Citadel in 25-player Heroic mode" when there are bugs or mechanics that make these tasks easier that they appear to be.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted May 13, 2011 Author Posted May 13, 2011 (edited) You mean 201 pages right Pedro Also I'll wait before 250/300 pages before I make one. The T.O thread barely makes new ones, so I don't see the rush. We aren't Michigan. EDIT: Summer school has me busy, expect not to see me until earliest next thursday. I haven't had full tiem to dedicate to CS2 since its release. I've just been testing him out, I'm feeling him more as time goes on. As much as I'm salty about the all around shippu nerf, yukikaze has been buffed quite a bit as compensation. I'm liking the way it functions and I'll grow on it, but obviously not rely on it in battle. Edited May 13, 2011 by BladeOfJustice7
pochp Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 What did they nerf about shippu? Can't find anything... Stop depending on gimmicky supers though :P I really don't see the point of creating a new thread though. If you don't have a better reason than "we get to give it a new name", then not worth having the previous posts deleted imo. There could be some posts for whatever reason that could be good to dig up. (like "oh when is LK coming exactly") I still only see this as page 51 though... But hey Sunday's meetup will just be fun, nobody really knows their new character in depth anyways, pad players get screwed by the fact that it's 360 only, so you know, we're going to like, have fun playing a video game. No srsly though, didn't know you had class this summer, won't pressure you, that's a valid reason not to come. Oh by the way, Nolan, you gonna order another set of converters? If not I'll probably check it out tomorrow night or something, but I'm not even sure they're that necessary, they might end up being laggy and stiff too. I think you guys, having tried the converter during the February Ottawa then Montreal tournaments weekend, would know best. I also have the recording setup with Cranky's old device and my laptop that isn't as high-res and synching commentary is a pain, but it works if we want it to.
AirMaster Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Won't be able to be there sunday sadly. I'll be there next thursday though.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted May 14, 2011 Author Posted May 14, 2011 What did they nerf about shippu? Can't find anything... Stop depending on gimmicky supers though :P Do any combo with shippu at the end it does almost 1k less than cs1. But I don't really care anymore, I'm feeling hakumen more and more as I'm in training mode. And you make a valid point about the new thread, it'll be put on halt for the time being.
Steb Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 (edited) Why make a new thread so quickly? The smashboards Montreal thread is the same one from 2004, lol. If you really want to make a new thread, do it like the SRK Montreal thread, which is remade at the beginning of each year by prez (a really old MTL player). If you only want to change the name of the thread, you just have to edit the title of the first post. Also, should I bring my Xbox for Sunday? Edited May 14, 2011 by Steb
Sophisticat Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Bring all the CS2 you can! We need an army of CS2 to satisfy demand! @Pedro: I pretty much haven't thought about the converters since I last tried getting e'm. The one JF brought that time ~1m ago was great, so if we can get that, then it's cool. Otherwise, I don't mind using Ps2 controller since it's not serious competition right now. Also, for those interested in playing new Haku: a bit of sobering info. I don't want to discourage anyone from trying him, just know what you're getting into. He doesn't play like other characters and that can affect how you perceive him.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted May 14, 2011 Author Posted May 14, 2011 I AM CS2 HAKUMEN. PROFOUND SADNESS HAS COME.
pochp Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 So, it makes sense he went down in tiers, but he is still good enough to compete no problem since he still has mix-up options (which are actually much improved imo). [HAT]So he went from being an effective gimmick/yomi character that often won games he shouldn't have because of BS, while still having great pokes but bad mixup, to a character who requires more patience and effort to win. Why are you sad, you can now feel proud when you win and earn your opponent's respect, instead of generating salt and thinking "lol read" after mashing j.D after an IB or something like that. @Nolan : don't you mean he's more like the rest of the cast because his counters aren't as effective any more.[/HAT] Thinking about opening the HQ earlier tomorrow. I need my CS2.
T.Kang Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 I'd kill to go to the meetup tomorrow but I still haven't found a job, so yeah. Just to know, anybody switched mains on CS2? I'm curious to see how's Montreal looking in that department.
kirbster Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Viens pareil Ken! Chu sûr qu'on peut tous chip in 1$ or something lol. Brice is supposed to switch to Platinum when the time comes when he gets tired of losing. As for me I'm busy tomorrow until after supper, so I'll prolly show up around 7-8.
pochp Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 I switched subs, Litchi. Definitely not going to switch mains though, Mu is way too awesome now. If you come I'll chip in, or rather, I'll buy soft drinks tomorrow and sell em, profits will go to the "keep poor players out of team nah" cause. How does that sound? JF tu te rappelle tu des détails du converter qu'on parle de? Si tu pourrais me dire c'est quoi, genre faire une petite recherche de convertisseurs a vendre et l'identifier, jcrois que ma acheter tantot.
Nini Heart Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 I'd kill to go to the meetup tomorrow but I still haven't found a job, so yeah. Just to know, anybody switched mains on CS2? I'm curious to see how's Montreal looking in that department. I switched. Noel main now. She's more annoying to fight against.
Steb Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Not really a main switch, but I might play Valk more. Hazama is too easy, lol.
Lythium Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Yea, boi. I still want to try Platinum when she's available, but I'll probably stick with my flat-chest. 'Sup, Montreal?
