Noel's drives, even when they whiff, seem hard to punish and I can't seem to safely guardpoint out when i'm stuck in a drive blockstring without being CH, was this always the case?. It feels like 2d beats me out of a hell of a lot of stuff including my 2d sometimes and lands her half my health on hit, and Noel's pressure is pretty hard to escape. That being said, i'm pretty inexperienced with this matchup so some of the stuff I mentioned may just be due to lack of knowledge.
Dacidbro Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 If you block 2D and IB during the multi hit, you get a free counter hit unless she spring raids, I believe (Press 5A, as soon as the blockstun ends; it's early than it looks). That will probably help you turn the tide, call out 2D to remove some of her mashability. Use poison nail dash to approach and beat anti air Use bumpers if given space Recognize her 2A is +1 and 3C is +3; IB will be necessary.

Dacidbro Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 I don't think assault through beats it if you press it quick enough, 4D definitely seems like it should whiff if 5A is pressed as fast as possible, but good point. If anyone has training mode and could test these individual points, that would be great. (Of course, making sure the 5A is pressed at "just frame" timing, and so are Noel's followups)

Dacidbro Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 You can TKdouble palm fatal her 2D, and it's mostly safe. The most she can punish with is a small hit to air combo or spend meter, unless she calls it out pre-emptively and 6A counterhits it. Also, if you block 2D, IB 5A to punish. For her 4D and 5D, if she whiffs she has to guess, use safe options like jumping over her next gatling until she starts getting more obscure, to try to corner her in terms of gatlings remaining available. Basically, you want to make strong reads to force her to play a real game. You need good reads, or you will die. Try to play safe.

BenB Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 So, I got to play against a really good Noel a few days ago, it was all about beating anti-air attacks and no rush down at all. TK.623B is pretty good for "zoning" but you shouldn't use it too much, else the Noel player will just faint a dash to do a back dash and then 5k combo you ): . She may try to wake up 4D sometimes. You can try to 2D into her 4D which makes a clash. Then cancel the clash with anything to beat her up :B . You can try to j.236C really close to the ground, like, after an airdash, that may bait some (ground) "approach", you shall be really close to the ground and time it well if you don't want to eat a 6A. Wake up 6D isn't a really bad idea (well, against almost any characters too) but like always, she can either wait for it or grab :/ . That's pretty much all I can tell, also Noel's pressure is...horrible. Never ever try to IB 5A her normals. (And once again, sorry for my so-so english :v )

And I wouldn't recommend pressing anything after a blocked 2D unless you are mashing, cause she will go into some other move 9 times out of 10 and probably blow you the fuck up for it and take half your life.
