I am new to playing Noel, as of right now I wouldn't even take her online if I had wifi because of fear of being called a "drive-spammer".

What is the best way to become a legitamite good Noel player?

-Learn your move-set and how/where they can be used

-Learn simple pressure strings and hit-confirms

-Learn some combos

-Watch other Noel players and see if you can emulate/pick up anything from their styles

-Ask questions and seek advice when you're stuck

-Practice

Naturally, there's no set order to doing these things and you may still need to do more to become a 'legitimately good Noel player', but this is probably a good enough start. Good luck learning Noel.

Just play with her, there's no other way really.

-First you should try and learn how she moves around. Noel isn't THE most unique character so moving around shouldn't be an issue (although you should keep in mind that she has above average mobility, so take advantage of that). Being familiar with how your character moves around probably is the most basic thing, and helps your neutral and zoning game a fair bit.

-Second, I ought to quote Hex on this one but yeah, learn her moveset and how to use it like you're learning tricks to please your girlfriend (or boyfriend).

These two steps will pretty much determine whether you'll get good with her or not. No real point in learning damaging combos if you can't land them.

Actually, just look at the post just above mine and think of it as some sort of Bible. I do think that combos come before hitconfirms but I could be wrong. Just ask for advice whenever you're stuck and you'll do just fine. Muscle memory will help you a lot for combos and hitconfirms, and pressure strings come from your knowledge of Noel's moveset, so practice a lot and you'll improve in no time.

On a side note, I totally skipped the first two steps so I'm still stuck at an average level. Piece of advice, don't skip these.

I have been trying to do this combo : 6B > 6C > 2C > 5C > 3C > 22BBBBBC~66 > 6C(2) > 6C > 4D > d.214D > 6C > 236A > 66C > j.D > d.6D > d.5D > d.5B > d.5C > d.236D

But I'm not sure what 6C(2) means, does it mean to do the full 6C, or do 6C twice?

Either way when i hit them with 4D they just tech out, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

any help please?

6C(2) means to let both hits of the move connect (where she actually shoots the gun diagonally). Also, to hit the 4D, make sure that you hit second 6C low enough so that the 4D is given a chance to hit. It might feel like you are doing the move late, but 6C is pretty fast, so you can delay doing it until they are just about to hit the ground.

Does the 5a>5A>6A>6C into whatever combo work. Whenever i try to cancel the 6A into the 6C with anything before the 6A the opponent is to far and falls out. What am i doing wrong?

You need to be at point blank for that to work. Some running momentum (i.e. 665A > 5A > 6A > 6C) makes it easier to connect too.

Yeah, Forward momentum is almost required to do a good combo off of 5A, which is why when I punish with it I start by microdashing.

Thats kind of retarded. How would i apply this in a real match if i have to dash before it? What is her bnb that doesn't require a dash before ?

Why wouldn't you be able to do this in a real match? I do it all the time, it makes things more fun so I'm not just mashing out random buttons.

As far as a BnB that doesn't require a dash, if it's after 5A you have two options:

5A > 5B > 5C > 2C

5A > 6A > 5C > sj.C > sj.B > dj.B > dj.C > dj.236C

Well considering the range of 5A, you'll more than likely be dashing in before you use it anyway (especially if you're using stagger pressure). At any rate, [5A >] 6A > 6C should work without forward momentum and anything that leads into 3C won't need it either.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Quick beginner question. Since I am only playing Calamity Trigger (on PC) I've been encountering the so called Drive BnB in archive threads. Unfortunately I can't really find what combo string is the Drive BnB. I'm suspecting it's d.6B > d.5C, d.6B > d.5C > d.236D. Am I guessing right, or Drive BnB is some other combo?

Same thing with the so called Air Combo (e.g. in a part of a combo ... d28D > 6C > Air Combo)? My guess would be it's j.B > jc. > j.B > j.C > j.236C

Thanks for help.

P.S. Does anyone have or know where is the Hellmonkey's and Tae Seong Kim's guide

Wow man, CT stuff? We really don't talk about CT anymore since it's the 1st game and we're on the 4th.

But hey it's Christmas so I'll let it slide and give you the Cawmboes you are looking for.

CT Drive ender is 5D > d.6B > d.5C > d.6B > d.5C > d.236D

CT Air combo is sj.C > sj.B > dj.B > dj.C > dj.236C

You can probably find the guide you're looking for in the archives.

Im guessing micro dashing is doing a really short dash canceled into any move right? What is stagger pressure? And lastly what are some of her block strings or just how to pressure the opponent in general?

Posted

You're right about micro-dashing and stagger pressure is using strings with small gaps in it (e.g. 5A > 5A > 665A) that is mainly used as frame traps and extending pressure. Pressuring opponents in general really depends on what character you're facing (do they have a DP/good range/720s) as well as your opponent (are they aggressive/passive/etc.), so you'll want to be using a mix of staggered 2/5As, 5B/C for spacing and gimmicks like j.4D and cross-up 2D on crouchers depending on the situation.

Hi guys, I'm new to the forums and slightly new to the world of BlazBlue.

I've been playing the 3DS version since June and Noel is my main (Yes 3DS, dont hurt me! T^T)

I've been watching videos (By Mr LunaKage and others here on the forums) and I've picked up some techniques.

But I'm stuck... its the Haida, I cant seem to get the timing right, maybe its because I'm using the D-pad (since we have no arcade stick)

Or maybe the 3DS version is different from the console version?(just a thought T^T)

Well, I own the 3DS version of CS2 too, and let me tell you that using that 3DS d-pad is ARSE, so I understand why its difficult doing the Haida. But anyway, the Haida is character specific, so what exact combo have you been trying, and on which character? Here's an archived page from Hexanoid that might be helpful if you haven't looked at it already:http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?11719-Noel-Vermillion-CS2-Haida-Guide

If you still need with some clarification or something specific (i.e timing of dash cancel, 6C, etc.), I'm sure anyone will be willing to help. :)

Actually, I've been looking at that thread, and I was trying to Haida on Tager (since I dont know how to do it at all and he says start here)

But I think my problem is really what to do after the "3C > 22BBBBC~66 > 6C"

Like to be honest, I'm completely stumped, what do I do? (For Tager)

Also: I agree, the D-pad is a pain, but I guess you get used to it after a while?

Well, I haven't really invested much time in playing the game on my 3DS because I can never find people to play with, but I guess I have gotten better at performing the desired moves as time passed. I guess you just get used to how to glide your fingers over the d-pad.

I'm not sure how much you know about the Haida, so I'm just going to start with basics. So, the Haida loop is basically just a repetition of 22B>(6)6C before ending the combo with drive. So an example Haida on Tager would be 3C>2BBBB~C>66C>22B>6C>22B>66C>drive combo. This is perhaps the simplest you can get in terms of starting to learn the timing of the loop. If you can get this simple combo, just keep adding in repetitions of the 22B>(6)6C. BTW, as a side note, 66C's are used instead of a regular 6C sometimes so you can adjust spacing to continue the loop since the loop is spacing specific. Because this is Tager and he has such a huge hitbox, you can get away with regular 6C's for perhaps two reps before doing a 66C. But just try that basic combo first and post here how it goes.

Also, if you haven't already, watch that video on that thread about the Haida loop so you can visualize the timing and see how its supposed to look like.

Oh, and on another note, since you might not be accustomed to notation, 66C is just a dash into 6C, so 66>6C = 66C.

I personally just enjoying playing against the CPUs ^.^;; (Casual here)

But learning some advanced stuff isnt bad right?

Edit: Hmmmm I see! I'll Practice that now

and I've already watched the video but I'll watch it again

Thanks so much for your help ^^

Reply to note: I somewhat knew that XD Its where she slides rather than fully dashing (animation wise)

According to the Directory Thread the guide has "not yet been made". I guess it was delayed/forgotten about. So our tutorial is definitely inadequate.

Directory: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?10712-Noel-Directory-For-CS2-READ-BEFORE-POSTING-A-NEW-THREAD!!!

If you seek system related information then check here. In the individual character sections, selecting a move shows the hitbox throughout its animation!

System Guide: http://dustloop.com/guides/bbcs2/

If you have already searched into those topics and require more specific information, you need only ask about it. What exactly were you having trouble with?

The best way to learn, is to do. At least in my experience. Some things you will only grow comfortable with through trial and error. New combos and pressure styles don't always start out peak performance. You may just need more match experience.

Edit: I should mention there is a transition period between CS2 and CSX going on. So please specify what version you are asking about!(it may be relevant) :D
