I thought I'd mention this now because I realized very few people realize this:

It's common courtesy to press the Communication button (通信・指令) to give the yorosiku message to your partner. Particularly in shuffle play.

It's pretty much the equivalent of typing glhf or something. Its just generally good mannered and the main way of being able to tell if I'm partnered with a total scrub even before the game begins is if he knows how to greet me.

The arcade scene is pretty much built upon shuffle mode play, aka often playing with strangers, so there is actually a pretty elaborate culture around partner communication (it IS a 2v2 game afterall).

enough so that i subconciously do it even when i dont even have a human partner lol.

im kind of sad because i don't think that is the ranked match patch lol. its silly that they're giving us a few new suits before they enable ranked matching >_>. well maybe it will include the patch... here's to hoping.

Haha, nice. So well mannered, even with the A.I. :3

hi-v is fucking amazing, his fin funnel play gives him insane offensive options, but you really need to hold off on using recharge buff as long as you can since you kinda rely on them quite a bit

his ex burst move is pretty safe if you use it on ground or even as like a counter for some ppl trying to shoot you with beam rifle from mid-long range, does approximately 1/2 of sazabi's hp so around 320 dmg

pretty decent melee moveset, boost dash forward melee is fast and hard to cut and combos from BRx1, but side melee is kinda meh

very good overall for a 3k but not master gundam level....no free 250+ damage combos

It's fun but that EX Burst Attack is not safe. Some ranged attacks will break the shield. Also a melee attack from the sides will go through. Boost Funnel spam into melee is amazing with him.

@xlolxlolx:

extreme super does 306 if you were curious. The majority of jp players consider him high A tier atm. Either Top of A tier or right under Turn-X, which is actually very close to Master (bottom S, occasionally Top A).

his side melee is actually quite good. its quite an improvement from normal nu. it's has really fast startup and handles pretty well even against other 3ks. the only real complaint you can have about it is damage, but who uses side melee for damage lol.

if anything, complain about destiny/strikefree/fullcloth :p. though master can be pretty damn annoying in lag.

eh i get cut pretty easily with side melee, ex super is pretty safe...only gerobi and melee will go through pretty much, and if they throw out a gerobi you can dodge and super them for free...

full cloth and destiny are bitches :[ havent seen a good strike freedom yet lol

@xlolx

side melee, boost dash, bd melee, rainbowstep bazooka does pretty good damage. and u were saying bd melee had good cut resistance, so maybe that will help.

(6bb>> bd8bb > bz = 230 dmg)

Hey guys: Two awesome things in the spirit of Christmas:

First of all, I'm currently in the middle of translating the japanese exvs wiki's Beginner's Guide, and I've finished enough that I can post it publicly, so check it out:

https://sites.google.com/site/unlimitedbrettworks

it hasn't been proofread and some sections are constantly getting added, so have patience. if you're anywhere between a beginner or intermediate, you should definitely check it out and internalize all the information there (there's a lot). Remember, I just translated, i take no credit for actual content.

Secondly, I'm visiting america for Christmas week! I'm going to be hosting a norcal gathering for Gundam Extreme VS at my place on December 29th.

It'll be an all day event dedicated to gundam casuals! We'll probably run a small ranbat just for the lulz (random team or giant like 8v8) so yeah. new players totally welcome too, so if you're interested in learning and want to actually have humans to play with as part of the introductory process, fucking come!

It's going to be at my place in Burlingame. PM me for the address if you want to come!
