MashThat5A Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 I get the feeling the protagonist is going to be a JoJo's character.
SoWL Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Seems like the meter below the combo count fills up completely with each hit and then quickly reduces to zero, ending the combo. So it's basically a fancy way to show the window in which you can continue the combo. Pretty cool.
Hecatom Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Of course Protagonist has wombo combos and a damn good DP. Aksys is following the same formula they've had for main character types, but I'm still going with Chie though.=w= Arcsys (ASW, Arc System Works) Aksys is the usa publisher
TSHKN Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 I get the feeling that everyone going to be a JoJo's character LMAO GET!! HYPE!! for JOJO 2.0
Tong Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 (edited) Oh god... I just realized there's a "One More" state...hopefully it's not as silly as it is in the actual game. Also I hope not everyone has status effect skills :\ And don't trust the yellow Furupoo! Remember... One more is the Rapid Cancel mechanic in this game. When Yu does "Stun diper" the gauge is constantly refilling, and for a brief moment it's completely spent when "one more" happens then refilled. Edited September 8, 2011 by Tong
Sahgren Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 wish i knew what a "wombo combo" is In case Kron's video didn't explain it for you, it means trapping the opponent between two opponents that are alternating hits. Think Carl style.
RagnaXBL Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pD_imYhNoQ4 thx just discovered the joys of wombo combo vids :D

No meter of any sort is used at all when he does the One More, the only gauge that is altered is the combo gauge beneath the number of hits which simply tells you how much time you have for it to be an untechable combo.

Hecatom Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 i knew that it was impossible to have a fg made by asw without a roman cancel mechanic (not counting bf of course)
Akiro Posted September 8, 2011 Author Posted September 8, 2011 Not quite sure how I feel about the game so far. The "One More" cancel seems pretty hype so far, but I kind of don't like how they are hyping Aigis as "The P3 Character". If another P3 doesn't get in I'll just main Kanji (WHICH I HOPE TO GOD ISN'T A GRAPPLER, I REFUSE TO MAIN GRAPPLERS).
Circuitous Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jpq41IqOjPM&feature=player_detailpage#t=109s The "One More" meter is above the healthbar, opposite the score. Five (and then four) yellow diamonds with black centers. So yeah OMs have a meter, sort of. More like a stock. The meter gravitating towards 50 seems like a quirk of dev/training mode.

SolxBaiken Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 It's not weird at all, if you guys bone up on your source material! The whole purpose of a "One More" is to steal a turn from your opponent, so this is playing in a similar manner despite the environment!
Circuitous Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Actually, looking at it frame-by-frame... she loses the stock when she gets hit with the attack after the OM. So it seems I was wrong about the OM stock. So now... what the hell are those? Primers? I do like that answer though, Soba. Too bad it doesn't seem to be the case.
shtkn Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 i think it's just low video quality that makes it look like she's losing a diamond. i still think they're just round counters.
Hace Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 I'm pretty sure the "diamonds" above the healthbar are just zeros for the score in arcade mode Edit: Nevermind, haha, I was looking WAAAAAAY off. I'll just go sit in a corner.
Circuitous Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 i think it's just low video quality that makes it look like she's losing a diamond. i still think they're just round counters. I'm not denying shit quality, but there isn't even a smudge there anymore, and it stays gone for the rest of the clip.
LunaKage Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 So did that shadow imply Rise would also be playable?
SolxBaiken Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 So did that shadow imply Rise would also be playable? I doubt it since those were the P4 portraits from the base game, and again Rise doesn't do anything in the heat of battle and is actively the announcer of sorts, but hey you never know. Really it was just being dramatic and trying to let you know of the connection this game will have with the original.
LunaKage Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 That's true, but at least Yukiko and Kanji have been "announced" even though we already knew about them due to the greyed out character sprites, it's good to see them officially acknowledged.
Kujikawa Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 If its the shadow then surely she'll do some sexy pole dancing for us - best kind of weapon.
Kronikhall Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 (edited) dunno if anyone will find this interesting and i'm unsure if this is a universal mechanic or just for yosuke, but in the trailer, at 1:19, Chie hits yosuke who ignores the attack and attacks her through it. possibly a dead angle sort of move (only problem is no meter was used). or maybe yosuke has a counter. edit: totally not important at all, but chie pays homage to bruce lee, fei long, etc. with her kick (looks really similar to fei long's U1) at 1:31 Edited September 8, 2011 by Kronikhall
