Less startup, meterless followup options, longer freeze for CH followups and hit-confirms. That hitbox is godlike, but it's wasted in 5D's current state.

It's funny you mention that. I discovered just how /easy/ it is to tag someone with 5D on their approach, but you really can't do shit afterwards unless you use heat and are close to the corner. :(

Delay the j.B after IAD so that he turns around (there you have it) to his opponents face. Obviously you want to follow up with 5B and then either with Sekkajin or if they're crouching & in the corner 5C > 6C.

The thing about delaying j.B for that long is that it becomes piss easy to react to. j.B is really horrible in this game, I don't really care about the hit-stun nerf but the start-up for the lower hit-box and maybe even the hit-box itself has been nerfed to hell. You can't jump in with that any more, lest you wanna get 5A'd.

I personally dislike the new 214A, it makes his combos way too damn complicated. I still haven't memorized half of the stuff in the combo thread and there's still more to dig up :gonk:

I miss the simplicity of CS Jin. 236C oki, 236D resets... :(

Another move that is in dire need of a buff is 236C. Either increase the block stun inflicted by that move or reduce its start-up to a reasonable speed.

The corner carry with 214A is fantastic though, and IMO they are fun to do. The spacing and adjustment with it is a huge issue, but if they decide to keep it, they'll probably attempt to fix that (and fuck 198457398578239542 things up in the process).

I never even use 236C anymore. I always use j.236C instead. I'm trying to learn to TK it, but I can't seem to do it well.

Yeah 214A makes everything so space dependent that you'll prolly need like 6 variations near the corner :V

236C feels so useless without CS1 3C :/ Man, I miss CS1 jin :I

@Moy - I~ didn't say it was good :D Thus I only use IAD j.2C after 214A corner shenanigans which works surprisingly well.

Ah yeah... CS Jin. Too bad I only started to bloom when CS2 was already there. Wish I could've enjoyed them 3Cs for a bit longer. Besides 214A ain't that bad. Gotta love 214A RC > j.2C/2B mix-up.

By the way, my corner 6C > 66 > 214A > 44 > 2C success rate went a lot better when I realized you can actually buffer 44 during 214A recovery.

Doing "6C > Delay 214A" instead of "6C > DC > 214A" produces a larger, much more lenient frame gap.

**Omitting 5C before Ice Waves may deal more damage (potentially 8530 or so)

Honestly, I wasn't expecting to exceed 8471...I was shocked when I read 8480. This one actually seems easier than my first 8k combo...except for the 5C pick up :v:

That is hard as all hell to land consistently, and it seems to require you to delay the 2nd Gold Burst slightly to keep the opponent from falling as fast into 623C, but idk...it just requires perfect timing.

I personally prefer strict, but obvious timings. That's why Dizzy's Ice Spike FRC in GG is impossible for me. =(

I feel once I'm in a corner I'm actually at a loss of which combo to do. Like i land a 5B....do i go into the easy 4K dp loop? do i go for a 6A combo? do i throw some 214A in there? OR do i just 5B>5C>b DP>6C>6D>Iad blah blah. I just don't know lol. Surprisingly don't have this problem with ragna.........some how.

Yes I know...I console myself saying that mine requires less heat to start and needs no cross-under...just an impeccably timed 623C :v:

Too bad that Platinum suffers from the same thing with the Bat equipped. That shit is the equivalent to Jin's 214A. Do I use it early on, too far away for it to work, too close to get the optimal combo, as a finisher... bleh.

@Moy, i saw your post in the video thread, i've been doing it that way since CS1, i rather like the format, i'll remove the images if thats the problem but i much prefer player then matches as opposed to VS character :<. Never really got complaints about the template before and people outside of DL have told me its easier to navigate that way. I dont have much to do today, i'll see if i can personally clean it up. That thread
