shtkn Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 http://youtu.be/YCow7MpHaw8 things ive noticed 2:24 second hit of j.214D in the corner whiffs intentionally so you can follow up with a combo on a frozen opponent 3:04 jin does some sword sheathing animation like at teh end of sekkajin... can you do a sekkajin feint or something? 3:20 CH 623C doens't push htem far away. Can combo to 5C on CH without doing a run saw that 214D didn't have the followup hit in that video. maybe you can control it like 214B now? sekkajin wallbounces now too haha.
xlolxlolx Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 i think he was outside of the lock range for sekka so he got the whiff animation, you can 1st hit of 214d now apparently, mmmm..... ppl needa try to see if you can whiff 1st hit of j.214d and combo off 2nd hit :o also his ct looks like it probably does 2 hits?
Hector_JHJ Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Anyone has any idea what happened here, new move or something? Seem to cost 25 heat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9K2GuDbh7Uo&t=3m20s
shtkn Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 jin's crush trigger. looked REALLY slow... i hope its because you can delay it by holding the buttons or something... i wonder what it would do on ground hit... stagger like tager's did later in taht video? what's to stop an opponent from just intentionally getting hit by crush triggers if they don't give good payoff on hit? you'd have to make a blockstring that goes into crushtrigger with no holes in order to use it then.
Moy_X7 Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 (edited) you'd have to make a blockstring that goes into crushtrigger with no holes in order to use it then. lol, you'd have to use it as oki when you condition your opponent to neutral tech. It looks like you get I-frames when you activate your Offensive Overdrive, interesting. What the hell were they thinking by making the Sekkajin follow-up launch the opponent? The whole point of launching the opponent with Sekkajin was to go into the j.D > AD > j.2C > j.C combo path. What are you going to do now if you waste your freeze on the mini-Yukikaze and have it launch the opponent once Jin sheathes his sword? I hope they turn that whole "sheathe after mini-Yukikaze" thing into a long lasting stagger instead of a launcher. lol, that whole "Sekkajin causing wall bounce on airborne opponents" thing looks kinda cool. 2nd loltest and they're still sticking to that huge Ice Blade instead of the three regular sized Ice Blades for j.236D Edited August 25, 2012 by Moy_X7
cadacus_ater Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 At least this ex air ice blade does multiple hits...idk but it looks like on block you could go for mixup if it's spaced right.
ShelledMenace Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 lol I wanna keep the huge ice blade, I like big things. If you know what I'm saying. Actually no, but really, I think it looks cool lol. Regardless of how difficult it seems to be to use it effectively as it is right now.
Yuushiro Posted August 26, 2012 Author Posted August 26, 2012 I don't like this change but what can I say... Most of the time the 45 degree angle ice sword is the one that we use anyway when I do use 3 ice
xHarukashii Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Jin changes looking sweet, did they bring back old CT colors
Moy_X7 Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Shit, 5C > j.2C no longer works. Looks like they really want us to go with the ABC combos mid-screen if we don't have the meter for Sekkajin > D Follow-up. I wonder what they're going to do to balance Jin if they're getting rid of his stable, anywhere damage...
Yuushiro Posted August 26, 2012 Author Posted August 26, 2012 back to ABC > ice car maybe? I dunno lol... making it more beginnah friendly
Moy_X7 Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Yup, ABC > Ice Car seems like it will be the way to go mid-screen lol. I really liked BB for its long, flashy combos. It looks like they're going the P4A route and only allow flashy combos off specific attacks or near the corner. Boring Jin will be boring :/
Jyosua Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 At least the combos look more stable with wall stick. Does anyone know if throws can still be comboed or if sekkajin requires you to hold the C button at all? I'm also wondering if 214D no longer moves the entire length of the screen, and if midscreen fubuki can be followed up with an ice car.
Moy_X7 Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Throw > Ice Car (214 in this game) A > Combo still works You don't have to hold C at all. You'll always get 4 hits with the 22C motion. I don't know how 214D works in this game. I'm guessing that it's the same as 214B; if you hold D you won't get the follow up. That wouldn't make sense though, as it seems like people were able to manually control when they wanted the second hit to come out. Maybe you do something like 214D > D if you want the follow-up to come out and simply use 214D if you don't want the follow-up to come out? It was said that the opponent can't tech until they hit the ground from a Fubuki CH, so Fubuki CH > 214D might just work.
ShelledMenace Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 How do you keep the second hit of the 214D from coming out? Same as 214B I'm guessing? Cause that's pretty cool. lol.

Manually controlling the followup would be swag, but it would also make it hard to instant block... I wonder if they would do that. I can't imagine how else people would be getting the first hit to whiff though, unless the move has a set range now. I'll be sad if non counter hit fubuki can't be comboed anymore. I found some swag shit off that in CSE. Relatively damaging corner combo and also an optional reset setup.
ShelledMenace Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 I think the 214D follow up probably works similarly to Akihiko's Kill Rush. Like it comes out/doesn't depending on where the enemy is, except if you hold it when it hits, the second hit whiffs.
Wing Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 whaaaaaaa?! we still gotta do sekkajin and jin is dull as a rock now? fuck this!
ShelledMenace Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 ...I'm kinda finding him more interesting now than I did before lol :c
shtkn Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 One of the videos showed Jin doing 214D first hit only so they could freeze the opponent and combo mid screen. One of the combos listed said 214D second hit only > 2D to freeze > combo. I guess they both work for different scenarios depending on if you used up your 1 normal freeze in the combo
xlolxlolx Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 2nd hit only sounds better since you can combo into 2d, but hey....this is like the first game since ct where jin gets midscreen dmg from spending meter :O oh and looks like 6c>6b is back lol

I guess they both work for different scenarios depending on if you used up your 1 normal freeze in the combo Yeah that's why I was wondering about the mechanics behind it. The only real way I see that working is by them changing 214D to not travel the full length of the screen anymore, giving it a set length of travel. That is, unless it works like Moy's idea.
cadacus_ater Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_B-rMAUFKUo&feature=youtu.be&t=3m3s So non-followup sekka now flings an airborne opponent across the screen to the wall...that's our corner carry now? lol
