Yuushiro Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 Maybe we'll get some cool stuff at the final iteration/version
Moy_X7 Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 I'm gonna be a pessimist and say that we'll be getting the shittiest Jin in the history of BB by the time the final version sees the light of day lol.
Moy_X7 Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Hahah, I mean I'll still main him and I'll be forced to get used to CP Jin after a while. Oh well, it will be a nice change of pace to play a Jin that vastly differs from his previous incarnations.
Moy_X7 Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 I'm gonna laugh pretty hard if the law holds true in this iteration. High-Top Tier CP Jin for the lulz.
Jourdal Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 The law also dictates that if we think Jin is ass......he's probably secretly amazing. Ronitta/Kei got in peoples asses in their Summit of BB matches.
shtkn Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 seriously, jin's ok in extend. not as good as he was in cs2, but ok. maximize your damage and learn all your setups and you can do well.
Jourdal Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Saying jin sucks is a running gag. The games he isn't "good" he's still capable of winning because he has all the tools.
Moy_X7 Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Yeah, when people said "man, Jin is fucking horrible in this game" from the CT > CS transition, I thought they were crazy. I love what they did to Jin from CT to CS, specially the loss of the stick wiggle gimmick. Not once did I think "I can't win matches with *insert game* Jin". Yeah his mix-up is weaker than most other characters but he makes up for that flaw with his consistent damage output, decent abare, and decent neutral game. The only thing that changes from game to game is that his damage output and combo opportunities change a little but nothing to the point where he would be as weak as CS Rachel or CSE Tsubaki.
Yuushiro Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 I still win tournaments... given they are TX and local tournie with Jin....both in BBCS2 and BBCS-EX also sometimes Jin players have to be gimmicky and full of tricks..., that's how I see Kei, Ronitta, Eruo kind of play lol...., sometimes.... We can thank Konan for CSE Tsubaki but he still wins SOB despite that lol....
Jourdal Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Konan and goro show that people exaggerate about those characters too. It was Souji that goro bodied to come to America (even though he had to pass on the trip). I find his damage to be pretty consistent too. I've been watching the cam videos from the loketest non stop but it doesn't give a good enough idea
Errol Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 (edited) I found some info on jbbs for you guys. English here for discussion. corresponding japanese is in the other thread 2C j.c on block 623B seems like old 623A, followup seems impossible Yukikaze during OD is cool. Damage is 3258 (last two numbers might be wrong) Ice arrows doesn't seem different during OD 5C>5D>D Musou> followup> 5C> sekka> 5B> 5C> 2C> aerial ender > 3600-3700 damage 5D Fatal counters The new air special can be used to quickly end a combo, nice. 5B when blocked, cannot be jump canceled Gatlings are same as EX 5B>2B>5C>3C>Musou > 21% (21% probably means heat) 2B when blocked cannot be jump canceled 2C> 6B works (as in gatling exists probably) Throw> musou whiff>5B>5C>jc>JC>J2C>jc>J2C>new air special > 2700-2800. Can probably fit in 2c after 5c to get damage up to 3kish. Crush trigger > 6C easily connects. Edited November 9, 2012 by Errol
shtkn Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 2C being JCable is pretty damn important imo. that's balanced out by 5B and 2B not being JCable on block. wait, 2B wasn't JCable at all in extend. 2C > 6B existed in extend as well when they say crush trigger > 6C, do they mean if crush trigger breaks their guard? because i'd be surprised if that wasn't true. if they mean crush trigger on hit > 6C, then that'd be pretty good. do they mean air hit or ground hit? from the one location test video i saw of jin's crush trigger, it seemed to knock down on air hit and it kinda looked like you could combo afterwards, but maybe not enough for a 6C. 5D fatal... not sure how to use this. unless they allow you to combo off it normally, i'm not sure what it can add. Actually, I don't know what jin can do with fatal so i dunno.
Errol Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Pretty sure it is referring to crush trigger on hit. It seems to be a strong mid combo option for other characters too. Don't know what it does on air hit, I assume they were basically testing comboability, so ground hit CT > 6C.
xHarukashii Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 the new colors look fuccccckkkkkkinggggggggggggggggggggg sickkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk got dibs on the black grey, brown haired one !!
Moy_X7 Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Changes thread updated, thanks for the info, Errol. 2C is definitely a welcome addition and makes frame trapping a lot safer. I still hate the fact that 5B is no longer jump cancelable on block but I guess we'll just have to deal with it.
xlolxlolx Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 i feel the amount of buffs are nowhere close to offsetting the nerfs lol
Jourdal Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 When i look at change logs i see that taking away JC moves for a lot of characters. Or dash canceling...i know ragna lost 5D/6C DC that's going to be hella weird.
Tonberry Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 More ways to combo into Jin's astral please Arksys.
Jyosua Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Changes thread updated, thanks for the info, Errol. 2C is definitely a welcome addition and makes frame trapping a lot safer. I still hate the fact that 5B is no longer jump cancelable on block but I guess we'll just have to deal with it. 5C should still be jump cancellable, and now we have 2C instead of 5B. I think you can get most of the same options off jump cancelling 5C, and if I had to choose between making 2C much safer to use, and having 5B jump cancellable (especially after the nerf to j.236D), I'd pick the former. 5D fatal? That sounds delicious. I wonder what the freeze time is like though, and what you can do with it since it eats your freeze (I assume). You might be forced to spend 25 meter to get a high damage combo off it, methinks.
eQualz Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Meh, I'd rather have 5B being jump cancellable over 2C. Sure it's a nice thing to have but I feel like it's way too obvious. It'd be a whole different story if we had 2C > 5C back, oh well so long we get to keep 2C > 3C. Couldn't agree more with 5D, such a visually nice move and now it's actually useful(?).
shtkn Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 imagine extend 5D with fatal. now imagine what you can do with that. probably not much (if anything). 5D > 214D > combo is all i can think of, and even that's not going ot lead to much damage.
Moy_X7 Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 He still has his 2C FC right? It'd be retarded as all fuck to trade that FC for 5D FC. 5D FC in CP sounds pretty useless. Remember that Sekkajin no longer launches, so you'll have to spend meter with the Sekkajin > D follow-up or with 214D. It might lead to decent damage in the corner at least though. Then again, I'm not entirely sure how his combos work in the corner with the loss of the DP loops.
