Jourdal Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 The tetsuwo matches are still on my HD. So the most important stuff is there! #biased
Moy_X7 Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 It's good to know that Jourdal has his priorities straight I see a lot of j.D > land > ambiguous 5B cross-under crap nowadays in CP. I wonder if they shortened the recovery on j.D. A 5B cross-under is pretty much impossible to do in CSE, no matter how high the opponent might be and how low under your opponent you might be when using j.D.
Jourdal Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 I was planning on narrowing down videos to anything after December...so i guess this sort of helps lol. Tetsu matches back up http://youtu.be/3lX4ElbUtro http://youtu.be/-CNST2-RNrk Kcs as well. Working on shirushiis
Jyosua Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Good guy Jourdal pulling through for the Jin players yet again.

Iza Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Jin looks sick in this version, I might have another play around with him again
neora Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Looking for some advice... I've been buying the Blazblue games since CT with the intention of learning Jin and really getting into the game, that hasn't happened though. I really like the BB games, just find it hard to find the time and motivation to get better. Anyway, with CP coming up I've decided to finally have a real go at properly learning the game. So here I am; asking for some advice from you fine gentlemen about the best way to go about that. I have a little experience with some other fighters like SF and I understand fighting game theory. I'm pretty sure that I just need to spend some time in training mode getting a feel for the game and learning some basic combos, watch some some videos to see how good Jins play and get plenty of practise. Any additional advice or tips would be much appreciated.
Moy_X7 Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 1) Get familiar with fighting game terminology and basics: http://www.dustloop.com/wiki/index.php?title=Notation 2) Read Jin's wiki page, learn what his attacks do and all of their special properties and then look at the gatling chart at the bottom to learn what moves cancel into what: http://www.dustloop.com/wiki/index.php?title=Jin_Kisaragi_%28BBCSE%29 3) Go on training mode and just experiment using all of your moves so that you can learn what their hit-boxes are and whatnot. Memorize all of the inputs for normals, specials, and super (duh lol) and memorize what moves cancel into what. 4) Learn some combos: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?12882-CSE-Jin-Combo-Thread-%28Updated-7-19%29 5) Learn how to apply pressure (block strings) and learn to hit-confirm. The best way to do this is to set the AI to block at random using random block types (Barrier, IB Barrier, etc). 6) Set the AI level to 100 and spar with it to work on your hit-confirms, spacing, and punishes. 7) Go out there and get some real experience online or offline if you have the option for that. 8) ??? 9) Profit Learning how to properly play a fighting game can be a pain in the ass. It all depends on your own willingness and patience.
xlolxlolx Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 bb's not rly the best game to learn fundamentals from lol
Moy_X7 Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Up+back awl dei What happened to footsies? (lol SF)
Shazam Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I had no problem learning fundamentals from BB. If you ask me pretty much every fighter has it's own feel to it. It's not like he's trying to play Arakune lol. Dude likes BB and wants to get into it, no reason to discourage him. Jin is a great character to start with.

It all depends on your own willingness and patience. I'm going to correct him and say it is a pain in the ass. But seeing yourself improve is really fulfilling. Also, I don't think James ever completed this fully, but his Beginner Mode videos are very helpful: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?12605-Beginner-Mode-The-BlazBlue-Mechanics-Discussion-Show!-(Character-Tutorial-Mode) Also, as tempting as it is, don't up-back. Not until you can tell when it's safe to jump out.
Jourdal Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 I'm going to correct you correcting him and say it's not a pain in the ass at all lol. It's a fun ride~ Buppa mains Laguna. Guess i have to take him off the notable jin pureiya list

Antitidus Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Looks like even though 5B isn't jump cancelable we can still make good use of the cross up in the corner. http://youtu.be/qmI_oXujaEc?t=8m4s
Jourdal Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 (edited) Im narrowing down videos to stuff after the first. Especially for Yutta and Miya :V. Okay. All thats missing is game chariot stuff aka Yutta and miya. Thread is basically restored. #FuckAmane. #FuckHakumen2012 Edited December 21, 2012 by Jourdal
Jyosua Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Is it just me, or does 2C look like a better anti-air now? I see japanese players using it more as well...
Jourdal Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Tetsuwo at tachikawa! www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1oO5ogFPU4#t=4m41s VS ESP Tao, YENGE plays R-1 Izayoi right after. Then Shirushi gets his shit bodied by Mu YENGE Jin VS Ara http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQ7nBWrs8yo#t=13m43s Tetsuwo VS Ara http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nylynsA7Ce8#t=2m38s Tetsuwo VS Mu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nylynsA7Ce8#t=7m40s
Moy_X7 Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 That Mu knows how to be lame control space like a pro. Tetsu wasn't having any of that shit though, so he out-poked her ass with DP As and 5Ds.
Jyosua Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Oh sweet, you can microdash under the opponent after the sekkajin followup to prevent yourself from sideswapping. Yay corner carry!
shtkn Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 interesting, tetsu almost comboed from CH 623B to 214D, maybe he just messed up the timing? i wonder if CH 623B, 214D (whiff) ~ C will work from midscreen...
Jyosua Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 It probably will. It looks like it has similar characteristics to CSII Fubuki B. I think what happened in Tetsu's match was that he hit the opponent with Fubuki when they were too high in the air, meaning they had to fall longer before 214D~C would combo, allowing them to tech. That's happened to me in Extend... the comboability of the move depends on height.
Jourdal Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 We could always do CH A Fubuki in the other games, you have enough time near corner to combo off CP Fubuki with 6C so it's possible. I don't imagine Tetsu trying a combo that doesn't work that many times ;-;. He was probably going for Fubuki>whiff Mussou
Moy_X7 Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Assuming that CP Fubuki has the same untechable time as CSE Fubuki A, Fubuki CH should work at any height mid-screen but your timing on the 214D has to be absolutely flawless. I'm talking about CSE DP C CH > 66 5C flawless. In theory, Fubuki CH > 214D ~ C should work but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
