cookiehours Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Welcome Reamatsu. We have cookies. Be prepared to be blown up by really good players until you learn Mu inside out. Come to think of it, this really good Hakumen raped me today. I was literally molested.
Aginor Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 You'll keep losing until you learn how to win and even then you'll still lose to other people. :>
Nemesis Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Coming CSII and my return after training I knew they would fuck up my main Ragna............ coming CSE I like to play a whole different character not involving Ragna or just feeling brain dead. :/ soo err correct me if im wrong but ... you dropped cs2 ragna cause apparently he wasnt s-tier anymore and now in CSE mu looks like a new fun S-tier to play? I hate to sound like a dick but thats what im seeing here -- i still play ragna quite effectively in fact i agree with lumin that he is just right now -- i despise most of the new s-tier changes to mu -- i'll probably still play her but i hope for the nerf this cynicism probably comes from all the derpy new mu's im seeing online now cause now everyone sees massive ass blasting combos coming from mu
Aginor Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Ragna was never S tier in cs2 or any bb game for that matter lmaooo.... Who cares if your character is S tier as long as you enjoy playing them. You might as well call Tokido a scrub for playing top tier while you're at it.
Aile Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 I don't think Ragna was ever S-tier. EVER. also I'm pretty sure he didn't pick up Mu because she was going to be omg top tier in csex.
SolarMisae Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 I play Mu cause she's fun. Playing a character just cause they're top tier is kinda lame, but refusing to play a character cause they're high tier is just as lame. I'll play Mu if she's S, and I'll play her if she falls down. Even if she ever becomes nearly unplayable (I doubt this) I'll still play her. I respect character dedication a great deal, to use the character you like despite tier placement (low or high) shows determination imo.
YukiBlue Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Im just a hipster who dropped BB until CSE. Mu is changing a bit, i dont want old habits to follow me. Also, Mu will not be S-Tier. A+ for real, but her mixup is just really bad. Yet i wonder if her amazing AA and raw damage (incredibly high) output can stabilize that...

My limits got tested on that and I just stopped playing my character. lololol Tired of working hard to only get random'd out. ;|
C0R Posted November 4, 2011 Author Posted November 4, 2011 Also, Mu will not be S-Tier. A+ for real, but her mixup is just really bad. Makoto only has one overhead, it's barely faster than Mu's. Yet her mixup is really good?
SolarMisae Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 My limits got tested on that and I just stopped playing my character. lololol Tired of working hard to only get random'd out. ;| Mu's hard work whether she's top tier or not though, at least I think so. Playing a strong character is incredibly satisfying, but it's equally satisfying to make a lower tier one shine. These are the reasons I don't care about tiers. I can, however...fully understand someone picking up a stronger character for tournaments though.
YukiBlue Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Makoto only has one overhead, it's barely faster than Mu's. Yet her mixup is really good? You can apply her 6B with Asteroid Vision Shenanigans, Combo into it, Delay it, It's pretty quick, difficult to react in certain circumstances and leads to silly damage from almost anywhere. Makoto also has a *Limited use* Crossup, An overhead after infinite Rush and a low attack. Makoto is a Rushdown character who is good at Confusing people on her way in, Mu can do it safely with lasers, Too. But that's another story.

Do you want me to list all the different applications, stratagems and tools that can be used to integrate 6b into Mu's mixup to make it incredibly hard to block? Cause we'd be here for a while.

pochp Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 C0R I'd really like to see that list as well So far all I've got is: j.B land 6B, 2A 6B, explosion/[D] setup into 6B, 6A 6B gatling (lolol), 6B/3C/6C/SoD RC 6B, and sometimes just a raw run up 6B when you're feeling yourself. hm maybe 5C/2C RC into 6B would be sick, because people start realizing you can't go high once you start gatling C moves. But hey one thing that's kind of hard to block with Mu's mixup I think is 236D into jB jump cancel ambiguous crossup delay jB. I've been playing around with this a bit, 236D is a pretty great starter so it can be rewarding once your opponent is conditionned to not press buttons when the laser's out. and my 2c on the mu vs makoto overhead, the thing that's annoying with mu is that once your overhead is blocked your pressure is over unless you're going to spend meter, were using a setup, or take a big risk. Makoto on the other hand can stagger you into the same situation where the person defending has to take a risk to get out.
