C0R Posted January 4, 2012 Author Posted January 4, 2012 Yo no BB at evo. Spark's one and only trophy. GG SRK.
LuminAbyss Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 No BB at EVO? Fuck going to EVO then. Might as well save up for FR instead.
Chaoschao222 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Yo no BB at evo. Spark's one and only trophy. GG SRK. >implying Spark would've had the motivation to enter EVO 2012 anyways Kapp:HA:
pochp Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Are you guys actually surprised about Evo? Sure I would have liked BB to have been a main game, but given the games that are going to be out, it wasn't going to happen. Oh well at least a side tournament, like other games such as super turbo and guilty gear... wait does this mean BB can be considered a good game now? And this has now become the reasoning for why I shall not DP on wakeup vs Ragna any more. You know, with certain conditions and stuff. Whatever. Ugh, I need to get better at this game. Maybe I'll get a stick when CSX rolls around... If you think a ragna will dead spike on oki you can always just late tech through it and punish, though this can be baited and punished as well by just picking you otg into a fresh combo. Then an answer to that can be to dp on wakeup. You just have to be aware of all your options, and make your opponent aware and afraid of them as well. Also, a stick won't make you better. Switching is painful because getting back to being as good as you were will take a while (months, depends on people). You need a real reason because else you'll just go back to pad with 150$ less, for me it was that playing on pad just shredded the skin of my thumb so I couldn't play more than a couple hours in a row. And well, having custom art is nice You probably already know this, pwnage, but I just want to make sure someone reading this thread doesn't misunderstand something

You can almost always reliably super through dead spike on reaction to the startup, kane's hitbox is massive horizontally, and Dead Spike is wayyy too slow. Blockstrings, meaties, frametraps, it just always works. It surprises me that MK9 is in there when BB isn't. I was expecting both games to be dropped.
Aginor Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I want mk9 and sfxt to drop out for BB and GvG EXVS. EXVS is a "fighting" game. :x Just like how bb became a side tourney in evo2k10 for mb.
Fluck Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 (edited) I thought BB would be in over KoF or MK9. A stick is useful because a pad gets worn out or misplaced; the former will happen eventually even if the latter doesn't. Replacing the pad after that is a problem because, from what I've been told, you need to break in the pad again. There are also other problems, like when you forget to bring your pad. Borrowing another guy's pad doesn't seem to feel the same, whereas you're normally fine using another guy's stick. Also, using a pad is a problem when you're playing a different console. Oh yeah and you need to be able to play on stick if you ever want to play in Japan Edited January 4, 2012 by Fluck
bakahyl Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 (edited) My point of asking about origins was that the guard point (i am almost sure that it also has invincibility, but i think the frame data on dustloop is incomplete on that) that it has seems probably more a liability than an advantage, because it can clash more often with random moves. Most of the time, i don't think of mashing it incase it will clash and i end up at the receiving end of the pain. Though i never said dead spike, because i know they just cancel eachother out and not clash due to lack of lightning clashing effect (like mashing inferno divider vs inferno divider, i love those dp-only battles that i have for the fun with my friend to see who wins. ) edit: eventhough i am not from the USA , which means i could never attend EVO. I am still surprised that blazblue is not in it this year. Edited January 4, 2012 by bakahyl
YukiBlue Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 (edited) SFxT > Blazblue fuck SRK to pieces. GG. Edit: in hindsight, I'm surprised MK9 is still there, I mean. Did anyone even watch it? Edited January 4, 2012 by YukiBlue
C0R Posted January 4, 2012 Author Posted January 4, 2012 My point of asking about origins was that the guard point (i am almost sure that it also has invincibility, but i think the frame data on dustloop is incomplete on that) It has level 3 guardpoint. It guards against every attack type in the game, including unblockables and throws.
YukiBlue Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 My friend said BB gets shunned simply because OHNO ANIME. He couldn't be more right. I'm saltier than the guy that lost to Noah last year on MAHVEL.
bakahyl Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 It has level 3 guardpoint. It guards against every attack type in the game, including unblockables and throws. So in a sense it's an invulnerability like the other dp's without actually being an invulnerability I think an invul. would have been better, but a guard point that guards against everything makes more sense for a barrier type move like origins.
Nemesis Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 It has level 3 guardpoint. It guards against every attack type in the game, including unblockables and throws. does that have anything to do with the fact that you can easily clash origins with other moves... Ive even been able to clash with valk's DD and knock him right out of it... Im pretty sure it has no invicibility tho -- a DbD eats you no matter how you time it is there any way to use the guardpoint of the origins in an advantageous way besides absorbing projectiles or beating out other peoples DP? cite an example for me?

That was originally the reason for asking about the origins, but due to my below average english i could not phrase my question that way. On a different subject: Is Mu really that good (as in higher or top tier material) in extend? I still haven't played extend yet but she looks mostly the same, except with a few more gimmicks. Edited January 4, 2012 by bakahyl
Nemesis Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Mu-12 is already super fabulous -- everyone keeps telling me she is secret boss tier. shes got amazing oki/yomi abilities, and only getting more in the next installment.. i sadly resign myself to top-tier-ness... with the stipulation that people will indeed try to flood her but then subsequently drop her when they press D and then get their asses kicked cause they expect something to instantly happen
pochp Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Tiers depend on the other characters, since Mu didn't change. I think Mu is way better in this version of the game because a lot of other characters got nerfed (like makoto and noel), but not necessarily higher in the tiers. Overall it's just that everything feels more even so far. (I say this because we have no valk/ragna/hakumen in our local CSEX scene so far ) Another way of saying this: I think I'd have more chances of winning a tournament with Mu in CSEX than in CS2.
Lord Pwnge18 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 You probably already know this, pwnage, but I just want to make sure someone reading this thread doesn't misunderstand something I probably could have worded that better haha. You're right, I know getting a stick doesn't mean automatic good, frankly, I just want to learn to use one, it looks more fun than pad to me. Mu-12 is already super fabulous I couldn't agree more
bakahyl Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 You could have assigned the shoulder buttons for a rapid
Nemesis Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 wow really? This is only the 1000th time ive head this lol
bakahyl Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I am still playing using a pad, because i can't seem to adjust to a stick that well. edit: yay i got my ps3 finally back and i don't have to use a borrowed xbox360 for blazblue.
Nemesis Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 like you have probably heard from others 1000s of times : learning stick to the point it feels better than pad takes a good month.
