Yes yes, but the same can't be said for why the Valk player ALSO wasn't blocking. :P Plus, there's really no reason to EVER stop blocking in the MIDDLE of blocking Sturm Wolf. PARTICULARLY if your opponent doesn't have any heat to RC with.

The valk had heat to RC with. Apologize to Konan.

Bah, I must've been looking at the wrong bar. Still, no reason to just stop blocking.

Mistakes are possible but I'm not sure it was a mistake. You can see that the valk didn't get that much damage out of it, and it was a reset to neutral. Instead of having to deal with random timing of an RC and have to eat a mixup which could lead to death easily.

But...couldn't he have RC'd once the move started to hit and done something from there? There's nothing magic about getting hit that prevents his opponent from RCing into a mixup.

Hmm, dunno, but, if you're getting hit you can just mash Dp/Super and it'll come out if there's a gap.Which can be baited too, this is the exact situation that let to Konan blocking that super... Besides the knock back thing from getting hit by the super, which may or may not be a factor.

You guys talking about when he stopped blocking the super?

I'd put my money on he was trying to instant block for meter gain and simply missed the timing.

If I want to DP or counter super Valk's super, it's after the first hit. You can get a 236236C or a DP off to punish him but the timing is super tight so you better be mashing hardcore.

This.

Not even Konan is perfect.

Jyo DPs so often when he's in the corner.

Regardless, good stuff TGR.

Yep, heh. Just in general, he dps a ton but in the corner... just jump back and punish with j214c.

I've actually been goofing with how to get around Jin's DPs on wakeup today since I've been meaning to do it for a while. The best option when Jin is in the corner is probably to jump over Jin+barrier, then OS blocking for each DP if you're in the corner. C DP moves Jin out of the corner, so you have to block behind him, D DP doesn't, so you have to block in front of him. You jump up, barrier, then switch sides. Since C DP is slower, you'll block for either one. You can also just stand block and 5C between the hits of Jin's D DP. Jyo normally mashes jab or something silly when I just sit there and block, so I was trying different junk.

I wonder if he's going to upload last night's matches where I decided that wake-up mugen was a good idea for like 10 matches.

You can do the same thing to DP D that you can do to DP C. That is, 2a and block. Both are slow enough for you to recover.. but you have to be on point with your timing, which I am not!

Yeah; With correct meaty timing (which isn't all that easy) you can technically do this on any "DP" with a startup of 11 or more. It's just particularly easy on Jin's C DP since it's SO SLOW.

Some combos that Yoshivi uploaded to YT (he usually does Noel combo movies)

3 charges (technically uses 4) - 22D starter, corner 4.9k

3 charges - CH 5B starter, corner 5.6k

That 5B CH combo also works with 5BB>3CC or 5A>5BB>3CC on crouching opponents.

Oh, and j.CC>5B>3CC crouch confirm also works.

Thanks for the acho vids Kiba and that's good to know Reptar. Always nice to see that we can use different starters and still be able to pull it off~
