6D can pick up Tager, Rachel, Arakune and Jin after a 6B air-hit. In BK, it can pick up everyone.

After a 6C > DC, you can also do 6D > j.D (whiff) > 5B > stuff. This will probably help extend midscreen combos.

Not sure if it's old news, I just figured those out yesterday while I was mashing in Extend.

I think this is old news. Conclusion was that midscreen 6D combos like that (without BK) are for styling and don't return enough damage for the effort.

I would have to agree that 6D combos are just for style points. The reason the standard 6C> DC combo is used is because the damage is the max you can get and the meter gained from it is really good. Anywhere from 40-50 meter depending on starter or crouching confirm. Corner carry is quite good too.

So in the end, easier combos are a better deal again.

I've never seen someone perform the Tsuika link in any match... not even Kaqn and Sakamoto who used to pull "22C dash 5A" in CS2 are doing that.

Maybe it's new tech for them, I'll wait for a couple of months.

It seems he can get good reward even off his lower risk stuff, honestly, so I'd say more Medium risk/High reward.

Apparently the new JBBS match-up chart shows that he has no bad match ups. No wonder Japan thinks he's still S-tier.

Silly japanese people. Ragna with no bad matchups is just as believable as Zoning Bang. CS1 all over again: they think he is broken at first then remember he is STILL Ragna, and that fact alone makes him drop 5-10 tier positions.

he is still SSS Tier for combo videos though, specially with that sexy 6B.

Do you mean that Russian chart?

Because the same chart says he was slight Advantage over Haku, Noel and Bang.

Imo these should be 50/50... but I'll leave this stuff to the pros.

I'll be honest, I personally feel like he won't even drop that much, even if he DOES drop. He's actually really strong this time around. Hell, I felt he was good in CS2, but no one listens yo.

I agree, he is pretty strong this time around, but surely not without his bad matchups. i still think he will end up as low A because even though he is strong, he is still Ragna. no new mixups or anything that people are not used to it. he simply gets rewarded a lot more this time around.

Actually, he has good fuzzy set-ups on half the cast now (MIXUPS), his j.C can cross-up a lot easier now (MIXUPS), Hell's Fang oki is seriously a lot better this time around (OKI), the new j.D and 6B changes allows him to extend his combos (DAMAGE).

Combine this with his already good pressure, amazing spacing and neutral, and his great heat gain, you have a REALLY good character. Not dumb, but still great.

Points made, which i agree with. I honestly want to try CSE Ragna soon, everything he does is stylish right now and his normals getting a damage buff is really awesome.

I also want to make lambdas ragequit by Carnage scisorring their asses from full-screen, just because i can.

It's sad because all of Lambda's D moves and specials have an ass-load of recovery on them, making them really easy to CS on reaction.

People will always complain about how "bad" and predicable his mix-ups are...

If Ragna had a reverse beat mechanic, would he still be predicable? Yes, people would eventually figure out that too.

And why do people get hit by his predicable mixups, then? Are they idiots? Dont know how to block? Mashers?

Damn, what if people played CT again? Ragna would never land a hit on mixup, because in that game his strings are horrible (and unsafe), right?

Even though his mix-up is limited, he has many ways to not be predicable and force to think "Now, wtf he's going to do".

A good Ragna can condition his opponent to respect his strings, and then, the true "game" (gimmicks, resets, fuzzy etc) starts. Ragna was made with one thing in mind:

"If you guess wrong or don't see it coming three times, you should lose."

The reason why Ragna is still strong after several months is because no one else in the game has really evolved in such a way that they can match his ridiculous damage output or make up for it in other areas. This should be pretty obvious by now.

I really don't think Ragna is going to drop on the tier lists this time around; at worst he will drop to high A-Tier. Spirit Juice brought up the best point for are argument in that no character has been able to jump up the tier lists due to stuff being found out. Example of this would be Litchi was like C-Tier when CS2 first came out then was A-Tier in the games final tier list.

Japan has had Extend on consoles for over a month now and they are still putting Ragna as S-Tier. Oh and the CS1 argument is really weak considering how vastly different that game was compared to this current version.

People forget that Ragna was S tier for like one month in CS1 but then rapidly dropped. It's been several months since CSEX has been released in arcade and Ragna is STILL S tier; that says something.
