I've been playing for about a week now and I have a little understanding of the basics.

If I'm lucky enough to even get a match I'm just getting butchered online. Completely clueless on how to avoid/escape pressure.

Got completely destroyed by a Tager whilst playing Hazama myself and I have a funny feeling it should be free for Haz.

I would play ya, but I can't use my stick on Xbox (3 buttons not working anymore out of nowhere) and I am not fond of using the xbox 360 pad for OBVIOUS reasons.

Not to mention I'll probably have to play characters I've never touched before to make you stand a chance, which isn't really something you can learn from.

Still, if you want to try I can probably hop on xbox for a bit :V

Sounds good, let's give it a shot (I'm Dutch aswell btw).

But getting ROFLstomped isn't so much the problem. It's the fact that I'm completely clueless during it and I have no clue how to avoid it. As long as I get some feedback to work with I'm totally fine with losing/getting stomped.

From what I can tell, it's just inexperience that's holding you back. Some of your blockstrings with Haz seem fine but some seem to end abruptly leaving you open (not used to gatlings/what specials can be cancelled into maybe?), most players will probably take advantage of that if you keep doing it a lot, or you let your opponent escape etc. Doing it once in a while to keep them on their toes is fine though. Above all, don't become predictable.

Your neutral game obviously needs a lot of work, but that's to be expected and again comes from matchup experience. I think your Haz might be a bit too passive but that might just be because you don't feel comfortable going in/not knowing how to get in when you're at full screen away from your opponent.

Getting pressured and knowing how to deal with it has to do with character matchups so that all comes from experience in matches and knowing what each character can do in any given situation and what you can use to punish certain moves (or not). Framedata + training mode so you get visual aid of what the moves look like can help with this, then look up basic pressure strings for each character and see what you can or cannot punish.

Combos seem good enough and you're consistent enough with most of them, so keep it up! :D

But yeah, I haven't really played this game on xbox but man, it's deserted over there. It was way more active during CS1/2 =(

It's pretty hard to get started in the game like this, hard to find anyone near your skill level and even if you could, you would have to be lucky to be online at the same time as the other guy.

Hopefully CP revives the online community, but that's still a ways away...

I noticed the same things as you that were messing me up. The shitty blockstrings is a result of SF4. I just keep doing SF4-like blocksstrings(damn you muscle memory). And indeed I keep forgetting my different gatling strings that can be special/jump cancelled. And when I finally did them I forgot the follow ups.

About my neutral game you're exactly right. Hazama just feels so awkward. Shitty dash, Short range normals (besides 3C). And while his drive is insane once you get good with it, it effin sucks when you're learning the game lol.

Another problem was that everytime I did try to get in, your normals kept beating mine. So I decided to switch styles and just focussing on finding your holes instead of creating them. It was also a good opportunity to start getting used to my AA's, because I started to see a pattern in the later half of the session.

And yes, online is a ghost town which kinda sucks. But GG just came out so I'm not suprised. I do still find matches so it's all good.

But I still learned alot and got a bit more familiar with the game. Thx for the matches and let's do it again sometime.
