MTW keeps going, you can't cancel out of it. Only Hotaru. You only rapid after the first counter.

That's weird. The wiki info on clashing says:

Occasionally when 2 physical attacks touch, they clash. When a clash occurs purple lightning will appear on screen and a clapping sound can be heard. During a clash, both you and your opponent's attacks are negated, and you each can cancel your attack into another attack at no cost (but not a jump, dash, block, etc.). If the clashed move has multiple hits and you do not cancel your attack, the latter attacks will come out.

I'd expect you to be able to cancel MTW into another move.

It might not actually be a clash. Maybe Hotaru is just hitting the MTW's super armor, and that lets you cancel into j.D? Except normally you can't go straight into j.D unless it's off a clash.

> If the clashed move has multiple hits and you do not cancel your attack, the latter attacks will come out.

Or maybe this is the relevant part. MTW has like 100 hits, Hotaru clashes with just 1 and before you know it that window has closed.

It's like Lambda 2C is following me through the game. It's a curse.

Also, can you cancel clash into anything, or just specials?

Pretty sure it's into any other move.

And yeah - since clashes are unexpected, unless you're mashing another attack or something, odds are you miss the cancel window.

ctrl and mac just need to come out with it and ask each other out for valentines.

Ctrl is actually relatively new as far as people I've been playing with. 200 matches is just the tip of the iceberg.

I just tested the MTW > 2C clash idea.

The j.D never comes out and I have enough time to land and block.

To the extent of my knowledge, you can't clash-cancel DDs or DPs. For instance if you clash Inferno Divider you're forced to use Inferno Divider over and over and over again until you stop clashing. I could be wrong, though, not exactly a common situation.

Have fun blocking my 360B.

Also, I know you can clash-cancel into jumps because I tested that for "start of the round tager 5b clash with hakumen 3c" to see if I could jump over a second 3c, and I could.

Tier 1 - normals

Tier 2 - special attacks

Tier 3 - supers

In a clash bout you can cancel onto the same out higher tier, but not a lower one.

So you can do ID constantly, but you can also do BE or GH, or an air super if Ragna had one.

Why would jD not come out if Hotaru and MTW clashed and you pressed jD during the clash?

You can clash cancel that stuff. There are a bunch of clash videos that show that.

That's not true...You can see here that Hazama does 3C after his 236D got clashed. Unless I am missing something.

Every single time a DP clashes, they're forced to use DP over and over again. I even have an old replay of Carl clashing 5A with Inferno Divider like 70 times in a row. DDs maybe (certain ones) but I'm positive that DPs are forced to repeat their inputs unless you Rapid Cancel (you can RC on anything though, so the clash is hardly relevant)

Now, I'm not sure if you the option of choosing to do something else. But I can guarantee Inferno Divider at least goes into turbo-mode when it clashes, so if you don't input anything you're going to Inferno Divider again. I've seen it a million times.

Just because they do it doesn't mean they are forced to. You can see here that Jin cancels his D DP into 2C, C DP into throw and B DP into 5D.

Just go into the lab and test it yourself. The clash system doesn't force anything to happen. If you don't press anything, then it will just finish the attack. You see people clashing DP into DP because they are mashing DP. It's not like I am trying to make you seem wrong but I don't want misinformation out there about system mechanics.

Edit: And I like how everytime I play Skylanders, Mac always sends me a message but the one time I playing BB, he doesn't send anything.

Nemesis got me. I figured you were just testing stuff in training mode. You want to play?

The j.D should come out but I must have messed it up.

*teleports home from work*

I will test it later but I'm positive that Inferno Divider at the very least has a repeat-input property on clash, it's not because they're mashing it with all their might or something.

I'm actually just trying to used to the controller again and going to the basic motions and seeing if I can do then 50 times in a row without fail. But actually playing in a match would be more fun.

Nah it is. My friend mashes ID all day just to get the input out, I do it once and clash, I eat the next ID since I did nothing after the clash.

I have seen myself accidently pressing 5c when my dp clashes with ID and i get a CH when they keep mashing ID :/
