It's a Wii U exclusive

It's time to kill.. But no seriously I feel like Square is slipping as a game devloper, I don't know I thought their current games weren't as good as older games they've made.

invisible game console ftw (them specs were SEXY though O_O ---still not better than a pc though....)

You only just realized? They slipped when they became Enix, they had a few gems though.

I know that but there have been one or two gems over the past years.

No, I have it but don't know anything

Fair enough, would you be up for some matches later on tonight? Or anyone else who plays GG for that matter.

Your Dizzy is doing a lot better than my Ky...

Lolwut.

But still, GG's. The first few matches were uninteresting, but it got much better after that. Unforunately, I never really tried out that bubble cross - up oki I made up in training. I intend to go for it next time, however.

While I've never really played Ky, and, there - fore, am not acquainted with his combos, it does seem that you still aren't getting maximum damage from every hit (Although of course, this comes from some - one that dropped aircombos and failed to confirm ranged 2K's towards some - thing that would actually hit, and did so consistently.). Is he really that low - damage? I'd like to know.

Also why do I fail to block Greed Sever/ 5D most of the time. Why. ;_;

Edit:

OOH! OOH! PICK ME AGAIN, PICK ME! (What time do you intend?)

Hey fags, just reminding you that The World Ends with You is the best RPG Square has put out in the past 10 years.

they had a few gems though.

Never said it wasn't. Plus Jupiter helped them with it.

Ky isn't really a low-damage character, just generally lower than most other characters (like in comparison to Sol). Random confirms into 6K > stunedge loops hurt like a bitch. Then again, he is very meter-intensive... :sweatdrop:

Also, his 5D and Greed Sever are 22 and 21 frames respectively. Delay from console subtracts 3 frames (roughly), and netplay can subtract anywhere from 2 - to - 4 (depending on the connection). Oh, and if you were standing after blocking something like his 6HS or charged stun edge, then Greed Sever is an 18 - frame overhead (13 online).

I personally didn't like TWEWY. Of course, take note: This is coming from some - one who almost never plays games for story reasons (I have books/ films/ anime for that.) My problem, story - wise was the same problem I have with most RPG's: It was made bare to make room for the game - play. There were a lot of reveals (Although the entire

"there's more than one week"

thing was spoiled by

the manual by the end of the first seventh day

) but characterization, I felt, was rather lacking, and I believe that, without strong characterization, no plot twist has much meaning. I do, however, admit that they handled the entire "urban" look quite well, and the game, as a whole, works better if seen as a tribute to Shibuya than any - thing else. Also, the sound - track was damn fine and I do indeed some - times listen to it.

As for gameplay, I believe it had so much potential, but they really failed a lot to use it. The entire "telepathy" concept could have had so much more done with it... And yet they kept it to what mostly amounted to essentially fetching and some minor "puzzles" which are eventually solved via doing things the game explicitly tells you to, doing things that it almost almost almost tells you to do, or small amounts of trial and error (The "Moai" puzzle is an accurate example of all three of these.). The one example that partly averts this is the "box" puzzle (Which was still pretty easy, but it was marginally better than the rest of them.). The combat, while it had a very workable system, didn't really challenge towards full potential, and, eventually, I realized that it was far more preperation dependent than it appeared to be (Of course, RPG's are often preperation - dependent, but most don't make as much pretense towards appearing not to be.), although, by the very fact that it does involve manual player movement and action, isn't entirely as such. One thing I thought did help it, however, would be the ability to change your level within order to increase the probability of drops. This is actually some - thing that I believe would be best to implement within all RPG's: It promotes challenging your - self by increasing the chances to gain things if you do, while also allowing for a "Level cap" run without the constant fear of gaining too much EXP, and, there - fore, wasted progress (Of course, there are devices for this, but some people are wary enough about what they may do to their software through - out their application to use as such.)

What? The battle system was crazy, great use of DS's features. The game is an absolute gem

The combat was frantic, yes, but not exactly as challenging or varied as it could have been. It was mostly limited to "use this set of pins/ gear and don't do any - thing really dumb and you'll be fine." It could have been a real skill - based system, rather than just look like it.

Admittedly, some - thing I didn't mention was how they did actually use the console well. Sorry for not doing so earlier.

Also, I'm not saying this as objective fact. I detailed so much because this game is generally so highly acclaimed. I'm not just going to say that I disagree without an explanation.
