gamester Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Would of posted earlier last night but got caught up with a few errands to run. It was interesting to read what happens on Rachel's birthday though @[sPA]Relentless: May be it is down to how I write/type xD @swordiris: It wasn't me then. I haven't played BB online properly since last Wednesday I am sure. @Shruiken: Yeah I play on PSN, I just don't have a set time for when I play online but I'll post in the "Loli Netplay Central" thread soon. I'm also from the South West
gamester Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Sounds like a plan. I'll apologize in advance for my lack of skill xD Though, it is all experiance at the end of the day I guess Another question that baffles my mind though, if you all don't mind me asking. Do most players here use a fightstick or use a general controller to play? I use a Dualshock controller but everyone else I have seen over the last 4-6 months, seems to use a fightsick. I'm not quite fond of them myself when I have tried them (mind only a few times at a local tourney I like attending) but was curious about your views.
Sakaku Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 (edited) Most of us use arcade sticks, though there's nothing wrong in using pad as long as you feel comfortable. Using wind + normals made it very hard for me to play with a pad when I started BB/Rachel so I immediately switched to stick. I know someone who plays Carl with controller and he's very good - not using a stick doesn't make you worse by default (obviously lol). Again, if you feel comfortable with the pad, there is no reason to use an arcade stick. You should try playing on one for a while though, this makes things easier for you to decide. :3 EU Rachel bootcamp? You guys can count me in if you have questions, lol. edit: kirbster actually plays/played on pad and won a tournament. :3 Edited March 12, 2012 by Sakaku
[SpA]Relentless Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 May be it is down to how I write/type I love it : D I think most players here use an arcade stick, myself included. I started out on pad originally, then shortly after that bought some arcade parts and built my own stick so I could finally SHORYUKEN FADC ULTRA. Never looked back ever since. I couldn't even imagine playing any Arcsys Game on pad now.

Shruikon Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 I use a pad (Dualshock 3). Sticks are too expensive and I cba to learn it, though the one time I did borrow a stick I could still pull off the majority of my Tsubaki combos straight away~ EU Rachel bootcamp? You guys can count me in if you have questions, lol. Will do :3 Also I need to play you more in general instead of the what, once? in CS2.
Chazmobile Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 I actually used the analog stick on the 360 controller from CT up until maybe mid CS2, I had absolutely no problems. Now I just prefer stick because I like the clicking and tacatacatack noises it makes. Oh and @Chao: I think you'll find Yosuke makes a very cute 'girl' as evidenced by the beauty pageant. :3 Whatever, Yosuke is like the coolest Persona character ever so I don't even give a fuck.
[SpA]Relentless Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Your stick looks so cool. <3 Are you serious : D It's so poverty...
Sakaku Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 ... No I'm not, lol. :3 You could say it looks... unique, haha.
TD Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 l use pad and it was a great experience playing rach on it when l first started. (l guess playing i-no for years made me an execution fiend lol) also gamester if youre gonna be here you might want to read the rachel bible. http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?7488-Rachel-Alucard-Guide-Not-Getting-Enough-Hate -no its not an actual bible. -yes its old. but its not about the combos so you can skip that bit. everything beyone still applies to current rach
kirbster Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 I'm back on pad for the time being... I don't have a stick at home anymore so all I have to practice is a pad. I plan on going back to stick whenever I can buy a new one though, that effort is NOT going to waste!
gamester Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Thanks for the link TD, I'll be sure to read upon it soon. I'd love to improve playing as Rachel Talking about controllers/pads and whatnot. I think my controllers left analog stick is soon to become deceased from where I've been beating it to pieces. Might need to purchase a new controller anyway at some point xD @Sakaku: I see, I've been told before it is down to personal preference but there is something about them that interests me. I'll try using one again later this month when I attend the local tournament and ask for some casuals, see how playing Rachel on fightstick is like. Only played Hokuto No Ken there with one, I'll keep an open mind though when it comes to using fightsticks every so often. Sounds great also. I like the sound of a Rachel bootcamp, the more the merrier as they say @[sPA]Relentless: I have seen tutorials around the net on how people go about creating fightsticks, looks interesting I have to say but complicated I would of thought?
kodimt Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 You guys are crazy if you play Rachel on pad. I wish I could watch your hands when you play. I press all the buttons all the time on my stick, and it just feels right.
TD Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 (edited) l just realized this one year later but l never got my trophy for getting second place at winter brawl. l guess it wont hurt to ask now. Edited March 12, 2012 by TD 1 year not 2 :v
kirbster Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Well after tasting the joy of rapid cancel on a stick (it just feels so right), I swallowed my pride and put A+B+C on a shoulder button... IM A FUCKING SELLOUT
kirbster Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 On my pad you nooblet! R2 to be exact ._. Thankfully I have been given the Photoshop file for my stick art. When I get a new one, it'll look the same (I'll even make a few improvements on it). THIS IS A TEMPORARY RELAPSE In all honesty stick is a lot more fun IMO. It might be psychological but it feels like since you're playing on something that was designed for fighting games, you feel that much more involved in it.
Shruikon Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Perhaps. They're still silly expensive though :p Imo it's all down to preference anyway. There's great players who use stick and great players who use pad. Just use whichever you're more comfortable with.
Herbal Grey Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Well after tasting the joy of rapid cancel on a stick (it just feels so right), I swallowed my pride and put A+B+C on a shoulder button... kirbster, i think there's something you should tell us
