gli Posted March 19, 2012 Author Posted March 19, 2012 Grand Finals was okay. Dacidbro obviously doesn't know Rachel's gimmicks. BBL crossunder etc. Huey knew about the stuff so he might have fared better if he didn't lose to "gay Bang mirrors". Ah well. Mirrors are bad for everyone I suppose.

gamester Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Me and Shruikon had a few matches yesterday, great matches they were also. I still need to improve and kick out some of my bad Rachel habbits though Also my J.2C lvl2 didn't go quite according to plan when I was lucky to use it, Tsubaki ended up bouncing off the ground high into the air and my 236B didn't quite catch her. It might just be me and my timing though, so I still need some work on those J.2C combos I'm sure. Overall though, very GG's

I want to say you probably used 236B a little early, since I know from my practice that it'd whiff if you used it too quickly after the lvl 2 j.2C. My Rachel is still pretty awful but then it's only really Day 2 in terms of actually playing matches. I still don't really understand how to play her properly in neutral and I keep missing wind use when I manage to hitconfirm, thus dropping the combo (that I can do in training mode :p). Just more play needed I suppose.

While we're not as active as certain other boards, it's still not that comfortable for some people to make their first post in a general discussion thread. I'm not sure how that thread would work exactly, though. Probably just be a place to say "sup".

Yeah, that's exactly what I meant, hah. The thought actually came to mind because the netplay info thread was basically being used for intros. Just... with PSN/XBL names added in.

What if the already established relationships and lack of an easy-to-join feel the Sanctuary gives off causes people to stay as lurkers. What if you actually have 10's or 20's of people who'd like to be a part of the Sanctuary, but are too alienated to take the initiative themselves?
TD Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 well you have a good point there. then again what if there isnt? we havent really ever had a boatload of people (especially rachel players), since it started, unless they were in here from other parts of the forum for whatever reason. i've been in most of the sanctuaries and havent really seen it. times do change though so it's still possible. likely? not so much. the only true way to find out would be to make the thread then.

gamester Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 (edited) Btw, I'll apologize in advance, my post might not make much sense and I haven't been a member here long, so I'm not quite sure if I can state my observation in this recent discussion point. Though, from what I've been reading and my short time as a member here, this is what I think I'm still new to Dustloop but I quite like Tari's idea, I mean. It may be easier for people to become more accustom to Dustloop through the boards where new members can relate to the character(s) they like to play as and make their starting posts around there. iirc, my first post was in this thread as I wasn't sure where to start but I was ok with that tbh though, I think it would be good to have an intro thread for it may get new members posting. we could always post a reply to them and generally welcome them to Dustloop and to the board. Although, I do see on the other hand with TD's recent posts where, not many people play/pick up Rachel from what it seems. Well where I've been, I've seen mostly, Tager, Noel, Ragna and even Hazama along with Lambda and Tao players. That might just be me though that keeps seeing those characters but the only Rachel players I know are me in my local area and fellow Rachel players on here. Although we might have a problem where, people may post in an introductory thread and then never post again. I suppose matters like these leave the Rachel board in a bit of a grey area. I quite like what TD has recently mentioned though and basically make a thread and see how things roll from there I must apologize again, for I am still quite new here.
