Yggjrasil Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Meh, it's not that great. Sure Plat has a proper AA with 6A but the recovery on that thing is atrocious and the I-frames don't kick in until after the 7th frame. I'd rather AA people with 5A sometimes since it's faster and has way less recovery. I find it easier to AA people with Jin's 2A than with Plat's 6A lol So much truth. I feel as though Plat's 6A is ridiculously slow for an AA. I have to throw it out preemptively if I really want to catch someone, and even then I have to really feel out if they're gonna commit to attacking, otherwise I'm going to eat some serious damage if it whiffs.

Only seems a bit worse than Tsubaki's 2C (which also has a smaller hurtbox from the very start tho), but we can't all have AA like Rachel's 6A I guess. Edited April 30, 2012 by Errol

Errol Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 I'm not, really. It's quite good, that's the point..
advancedNoob Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 So who has the best one? I nominate valk's wolf form AA.
Yggjrasil Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Wolf 5B is pretty retarded. Even if they did "nerf" it.
pneuma Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 ggs to new type RAI, soul 6 okami, and illian blades. New to psn, but not to this game. Lag isn't nearly as nightmarish as it sounded from reading this thread, although I do wish the game had an option setting to not allow players to skip the intro/synch. Using a tube tv and being wired in with the generous buffer seems to make bb a very forgiving game for online execution. I've noticed a phenomenon in which the worst lag offenders so far were people who really couldn't play anyway. Looking forward to running into more of you guys on net before ECT happens.
Errol Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Wolf 5B is pretty retarded. Even if they did "nerf" it. That was ridiculous in CS2.. I haven't played as much vs valk in CSEX (oddly), so I dunno. But Rachel 6A... *SIGH*
A.X.I.S. Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Wolf 5B is pretty retarded. Even if they did "nerf" it. I know I sound crazy saying this but it is now wolf j.A that is retarded. Trust me it's fucking ridiculous.
advancedNoob Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 That was ridiculous in CS2.. I haven't played as much vs valk in CSEX (oddly), so I dunno. But Rachel 6A... *SIGH* I want to pick up Rachel, I have a few games with her already and my primary poke with her is 6A, lol! I know its not the best to use, but I find it hilarious how well it works vs grounded opponents.
Moy_X7 Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 So who has the best one? I nominate valk's wolf form AA. I don't know which one's the best but some of the best out there are: Ragna's 6A - fast, I-frames kick in on frame 5, moderate recovery, JC'able, decent hit-box Rachel's 6A - fast, huge hit-box, good recovery Makoto's 6A - extremely fast, I-frames kick in on frame 4, JC'able Mu's 2C - moderately fast, ridiculous hit-box, ridiculous hit-stun on CH Valk's 5B[w] - extremely fast, good hit-box Hazama's 5A - ridiculously fast, good hit-box for a jab lol All-in-all, I'd say that Rachel has the best AA because of how well-balanced it is.
mAc Chaos Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Don't forget Noel and Lambda's 6A. Oh, you were naming the best.
TD Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 I want to pick up Rachel, I have a few games with her already and my primary poke with her is 6A, lol! I know its not the best to use, but I find it hilarious how well it works vs grounded opponents. if you keep connecting 6a on a grounded foe, they are definitely doing something very wrong... now in ct, this would make a ton of sense because 6a was absolutely retarded back then l agree with rach 6a being one of if not the best aa (not as broken as ct since it lost some utility). you know who else is a walking aa machine? hazama. and valk. :<
Lich Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 if you keep connecting 6a on a grounded foe, they are definitely doing something very wrong... now in ct, this would make a ton of sense because 6a was absolutely retarded back then l agree with rach 6a being one of if not the best aa (not as broken as ct since it lost some utility). you know who else is a walking aa machine? hazama. and valk. :< 5a, 2c, 214d~B. lol He has an anti air for everything. Which ones the best? Depends on the situation.
TD Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 dont forget 5c. it reaches pretty high up, around his face/hat height. like all his aa's it's situational but with 50 heat... the foe is already dead. yo l got aa'd by 3c once. mind was completely blown.
advancedNoob Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Hazama's 2C is tough to use, I use 5C more often than 2c, it yields way more reward.
Lich Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 (edited) Well, 5c actually lacks any air invulnerability, so does 5a but it has so much more priority than any other move and good range that deep jump ins are really bad against hazama. 5c is great if you actually hit it of course but you gotta KNOW they're jumping in, like, its great vs. IADs. lol Because yes, it does give way too much reward even without 50 heat. 4k~5k and pretty much all your meter is pretty. Edit: Is anyone online right now? I wanna see if my PSN lags, anyone up for some matches? Edited April 30, 2012 by Lich
Kriegdrache Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 I love Valk's W.5B, just cause it's so easy to hitconfirm off <3 I also like Haku's 6A. It's a lot of fun to use.
Moy_X7 Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 lol, I just checked the frame date and Jin's 5C has less recovery than Haz's 5C (they have the same start-up). That's just fucked up lol.
bakahyl Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Mu's 2c is an average AA though. It does have a huge hitbox, but at the same time it has a huge extended hitbox in which mu can get hit out of it because it's invincibilty starts out very late. Also it can't be jump cancelled on block (just on hit) and has a long recovery. I still nominate wolf 5b for the best AA in extend, just like it was in CS2.
TD Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 ggs lich. connection was pretty smooth even with the small lag spikes here and there. l would have played more but l need some grub. ldk if you can see my messages since you have the jp version, l was saying 'last match' lol
Lich Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 (edited) Well, mu can gatling it into 5c on block or hit and it'll keep her protected, plus even if she whiffs the 5c she still hasn't dropped the combo if the 2c hit. lol GGs Tempest, I wish I could combo. =V Execution is so bad on my part.... its like, I can kinda do it in training mode and sorta offline... xbox live its okay for me then psn its just like NO. lol >.< I plan on playing psn moar and maybe after I be a training mode star for a while we could try that again? Yeah it was smooth suprisingly, and yes xD I could not read the messages you were sending. Btw, do you ever get on the mic? =o Edited April 30, 2012 by Lich
A.X.I.S. Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 I keep telling you fucks it's not W.5B its W.j.A that's the problem. You guys haven't fought the right Valks but holy fuck that shit is even worse than W.5B.
