Lord Knight Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Okay: Today is Sunday. I am going to take a walk to get some much-needed coffee. I am going to drink that cup of bitter darkness. *Godot* When I get back I will do more practice. Play by invite only. This isn't just a game. dont just play invite only, play in open rooms - take all challengers! i made an open room as well
Star-Demon Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 dont just play invite only, play in open rooms - take all challengers! i made an open room as well It's so I can practice. You guys were just saying I should play less and practice more. You guys hurt my head.
Moy_X7 Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Mmm, time to start deleting people again then. GGs Errol I tried being netplay for a bit and wow, playing like a netplayer sucks lol. Except quick rise throw, that shit's legit XD One piece of advice for you though: don't auto-pilot 2C as a way to get out of pressure. At first I though you were reacting with it but I later realized that you were auto-piloting and I used that to my advantage for 4K+ in the corner lol. @Star - nope, go ahead and practice as much as possible and for God's sakes, practice shit that you'll actually need in a match, not "ways to troll". You're not at a level where you can troll anybody lol.
Rhiya Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 It's so I can practice. You guys were just saying I should play less and practice more. You guys hurt my head. Dealing with random shit IS practicing

SenXXi Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 GGs to Senn. I'm glad I got you into learning Mu. It's hell learning her but worth it. We'll play again soon. GGs cookie. Glad you didnt think i was trolling when i picked mu. Lets play again later so can level up my day one mu. Sleep more first so I'll be on tonight. Yay for stable connection except at the end!
Lord Knight Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 It's so I can practice. You guys were just saying I should play less and practice more. You guys hurt my head. who are "you guys" im not "you guys"
Moy_X7 Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 I'm so free to Tsubaki's OH. That shit's animation is ambiguous when you mix it with 6B lol.
Errol Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 I'm so free to Tsubaki's OH. That shit's animation is ambiguous when you mix it with 6B lol. Yeah, true. It got you a lot. I didn't get a whole lot off of it though, or combos in general. I think I'm blowing too many charges in neutral or not getting enough charges.
MashThat5A Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 If when she turns you see the book, low. If not, high. That's how I learned to block it.
Moy_X7 Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Yeah, true. It got you a lot. I didn't get a whole lot off of it though, or combos in general. I think I'm blowing too many charges in neutral or not getting enough charges. Not getting enough charges, I'd reckon. I try not to give you time to charge if possible and if I did it was because I was using that as a chance to equip a weapon lol. @Mash - Yeah, I'm getting the hang of it now after recording four Tsubaki block-strings on training.
Star-Demon Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 (edited) who are "you guys" im not "you guys" Okay, let's compromise: LK is a subset of "you guys" where P(x) = "x tells me I should play less and practice combos more." Let S(x) = "x says to just scrub Guard point." S(LK) is true. Everything revolves around trolling, learning to troll, and avoiding being trolled. If you successful troll and not be trolled, you win. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqRgO0d6ffY Unless you are trolling and end up getting trolled, which is high level shit. GGs to IRhokage. Why'd you stop blocking? Edited May 6, 2012 by Star-Demon
Zeron_X25 Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Why would I block if you have no mixup and mash? Might as well mash myself to keep my sanity intact. Anyways, GGs to the peeps who joined my room, played 2 or 3 matches and then left. (Looking at you, cookie and star.)

Why'd you stop blocking? Combos are important. Knowing how to play at neutral and being able to land a hit is also important. Knowing what to do after landing a combo and getting a knockdown into oki / mixup is important. Knowing how to defend against other character's oki / mixup is important. The difference between all them is that combos are the EASIEST thing to practice. You should know how to do a PROPER combo off each possible hit you may land at neutral. Another way to look at it, You could have perfect understanding of your character's neutral and even the opponent's neutral and how to land a hit. But if you can't get a proper combo off that hit you aren't going to get anywhere cause this isn't SF where basic attacks and fireballs in neutral tend to add up in damage. Now let's say you have ZERO understanding of neutral and just be random as fuck, if you know how to hit confirm into combos off whatever random hits you land, you might actually be able to win a round. The messed up thing is that this is the advice given to me by "good players", and much to my disdain, tends to actually work more than I think it should. My most recent matches with Toan were perfect examples of this. But I'm only saying this just so you realize doing combos are the easiest thing about this game, so there is no excuse for not being able to do the most basic and proper combos. You're making me thing it's worth using the A button to try to confirm something. Way to go, now I have a bad habit. Thanks. I played best of 5. I've decided anything else versus anyone here is a waste unless I'm having fun. But I'm only saying this just so you realize doing combos are the easiest thing about this game, so there is no excuse for not being able to do the most basic and proper combos. Well, it's been a few months and I'm kinda hitting the wall. I'm falling behind new players, and I can't make headway against already experienced players. If I can't do the easy things, I guess I'm in the wrong genre. I don't have a single one of the ones I've been practicing mastered. Edited May 6, 2012 by Star-Demon

Star-Demon Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Going online in 5min. Gonna fix some stuff first. I'd play you but I'm afraid of losing to MAHVOLOUS. Maybe later.
Zeron_X25 Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Then don't get hit by mashing. You're making me thing it's worth using the A button to try to confirm something. Way to go, now I have a bad habit. Thanks. You had bad habits since you started BB and you never outgrew them. I can always prevent you from mashing buttons like say... mashing ID on you but that's boring as fuck. If you wanna throw out that shitty DP of yours whenever you feel like it and constantly hold up back during your opponent's pressure, I'm just gonna play by your rules.
zeth07 Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Well, it's been a few months and I'm kinda hitting the wall. I'm falling behind new players, and I can't make headway against already experienced players. If I can't do the easy things, I guess I'm in the wrong genre. I've said it to you in the past, but taking time to practice is important if you want to get better. And I mean ACTUALLY practicing, not doing dumb shit. Playing countless matches before you know how to "actually play", isn't going to get you far or it is going to be a long learning experience. Quote from the "How to Read Frame Data Article" "Any of you ever heard of Buktooth? Let me paraphrase him: "Match experience can replace knowledge, but knowledge can often let you come to conclusions that would otherwise require match experience."" This sort of applies to you in this case. I'm pretty sure at this point you've played more matches than me on netplay, and yet if we're being honest you probably wouldn't be able to beat me the majority of the time. Why do you think that is? You could spend countless matches trying to learn the game, or you could spend time in training mode and at least get some solid ground work for your character at least. But I've said all these things to you before, so this will be my last time.
Star-Demon Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 (edited) And I mean ACTUALLY practicing, not doing dumb shit. I've been practicing the goddamn combos listed on the goddamn site for three months, you fucking tard. Christ. I've even streamed almost every minute of it to FURNISH PROOF and you still don't even believe me. God fucking damn it you piss me off. What next? You want pictures of my little index cards of Deal-A-Combos? (Including starters, enders) What do I have to fucking do to prove to you I've been doing the exact thing you're telling me to? Jesus christ. You want a fucking hard drive of 31 gigs of Recorded stream video? Fucking at least 20 gigs of it sessions where I practiced for a good hour before even playing? WHAT DO YOU WANT? Eat a dick, Zeth. Seriously. I'm tired of trying to bend over backwards to try to prove to you I'm doing what you ask only to have it blow up in my face, not progress at all, or have it completely ignored. EAD. I don't watch your stream or any matches of you playing, so I don't see anything. I'm just going by what you're saying, and if months worth of practice isn't getting you anywhere than I don't know what to say. But seeing Moy post a video of you still doing All Green like that after being told not to numerous times, I can't help but feel that anything anyone says is wasted on you. Sorry for actually trying to give you advice again, lol. I promise I won't say another word to you about this game.
Zeron_X25 Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 zeth can you train my Bang? I feel like I'm slowly getting better with him and I need some combo, neutral etc. advices. Not now but later. lol

Yeah, and he posted that entirely out of context, which I guess is no better than what I do when I post things with you guys in it, sometimes. I gave him 3-5 matches honest and then just fucked around for the remainder of the 18 matches and just put down the controller on corner, burst the first hit, Wakeup DP etc. Again, you guys have not noticed a single damn thing I've actually tried to change, some on policy, some on habit sometimes unsuccessfully - all because you're not even looking. You're not even. I could post a video of Fio and you'd not even check. How about I post a video of Moy not blocking a single 4D like he just said he can't, he'd look fucking free. Why do you think I asked if if he was being fucking serious not being able to block a simple slow ass overhead? Would you say Moy is free after seeing it? Of course not, he simply refused to block because he was fucking around on me. #3990 was good, Gimme stuff more like that. Edited May 6, 2012 by Star-Demon
