Star-Demon Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Well, I can get like 2 or 3 reps, but I need to be at 30. Ultrachen says so.
Zeron_X25 Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Don't you play Tager? I play a bunch of characters. Besides, how many times do you hit with 4D > assault through in a day? Either 4D hits or the assault through cause of the wonderful netplay. In the end, Noel is incredibly brain dead atm. Not that you can constantly win but she is a character which requires disrespect for every fundamental of this game.
Kriegdrache Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 I need to stay on litchi Okay sure, but if you ever complain about losing again, I'm going to find you.
Star-Demon Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 > Implying that you don't play silly with Litchi Against you, I don't even bother trying. There are not even a handful of people here at this point I'd really try hard to play 100% legit despite them being much better. Everyone else is trying too hard to expose me, troll me, or generally make me feel like shit. You guys are usually 100% successful, so I don't have much problem just spending whole matches DPing and trying to block mixup or find holes where I can 2a or 5a. I'll try hard against certain people, and the rest I'll just DERP until the day sometimes comes when I can just hide power level and win clean. I don't mind being the worst on the site. I also no longer mind being the most disliked. I'm alone. I should get used to it and enjoy it, because it's a unique position.
Kriegdrache Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 I don't dislike you or anything, I'm just sick of the constant complaining and attention-seeking. It was cute at first, but it feels like it's been going on for years now and it's just tiring to look at If you have to vent about losing in BB all the time, I suggest investing in a Blog or something sir. Oh, and to actually stay on topic, shout outs to Valk mirrors. Shits so dumb! Also, I would totally play Moy, I need to get raped by a good Plat, but Im sure the connection would be terribad
Moy_X7 Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 I don't mind being the worst on the site. I also no longer mind being the most disliked. I'm alone. If I did, I would have Astral'd you in every single match. I see how it is though, I'm not worth your 100% effort lol.

You know, like if you're at a party and then someone just shows up out of nowhere and never shuts up about their drama. After a while everybody just wants that person to shut the fuck up. But anyway, why are you playing people that make you feel bad? You should be having fun when you play, so just play people that you ENJOY playing against. It's not like I play against people that piss me off, what's the point? It's a game. I don't have to waste my time. If you're measuring yourself for wins, though, that means you might have to grit your teeth and play some matchups that you don't like as much as others, so you can get the hang of them. Eventually you'll improve and they won't be so unbearable anymore. Same with people that are above your level. You also shouldn't be trying to get better if you're not going to give it a 100% every time, win or lose. The whole point of improvement is tackling situations that normally are too much for you, and fighting through it and gradually being able to handle it. If you just throw up your hands the instant you meet some resistance, you'll never last long enough to get to the improvement part.

I'm told I should be open minded to this sort of failure, but I can't really just put it down. I see every loss as a personal failure to progress. Maybe I'm conditioned by MMO and FPS progression - you have it or you don't. we used to practice 14 hours a day in Counter strike, and to be honest the Cal-I players just had it. I played so much more than them and they were really on about how I should really be better than them by now. I can still remember the Days of Ownage. When you fail, you fail your team. You are personally responsible for fucking several people up because you are bad. I take that seriosuly because I have been responsible for many losses for my own team. I absolutely hated it. I take my games personally. I invest a lot of my time and energy and thought into them, and I'm not really getting paid for it, nor is it bringing me anything but a bad name and complete isolation. I have to win. I have to beat someone. I have to stop losing. Anyways, I'll start the stream at like, 8:30ish. Again - specific things - like, in notation things or just buttons I can push in a sequence. Room will be invite only. Edited May 21, 2012 by Star-Demon

What Mac said is right and it's advice I am going to follow from now on. I am going to take my losses with Mu against people who are better than me until I get her down. I will take my losses with Noel until I get her down as well. I can't improve unless I fight better people and take the losses and find out what I did wrong so I can improve next time. We both need to do this.
Star-Demon Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Star, I fought you before and I never made you feel like shit. Being beaten by retarded characters makes me feel retarded.
floatwater Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 And now the "TEACH ME DUSTLOOP, I'LL JUST LET IT RIDE ONE EAR AND OUT THE OTHER" session begins. IN OTHER NEWS Co main for me: Valk. why? things
cookiehours Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Being beaten by retarded characters makes me feel retarded. Well, you'll have to learn how to fight retarded characters. How you think I feel fighting Hazama and Arakune? Or even mirrors? I hate those matches but I have to play them and learn them.

I don't know, the better players manage to block it just fine as long as it's more than a 2 connection. I won't disagree with your last point though, Noel is one of the most disrespectful characters in the game. It's just thought it was weird that you would have such a problem with Noel, when you can just run over 80% of them with your Tager.

I can but I hate the fact that I have to switch to Tager every time I feel like playing Bang or Ragna and especially Hazama to avoid 80% of the bullshit.
Moy_X7 Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 we used to practice 14 hours a day in Counter strike, and to be honest the Cal-I players just had it. I played so much more than them and they were really on about how I should really be better than them by now. 14 hours a fucking day? Are you kidding me? And you were still not better than them? lol, dat mental distress really inhibits your ability to improve. Don't think "I wanna win". Instead, think to yourself "I wanna get better". Really, there's only two outcomes to these games: you win or you lose but either way, keep your head up and learn from both your wins and your losses. I can still remember the Days of Ownage. When you fail, you fail your team. You are personally responsible for fucking several people up because you are bad. I take that seriosuly because I have been responsible for many losses for my own team. I absolutely hated it. Just a game... just a game... just a game... *eerie whisper* Reminds me of the time when I was new to playing as the L4D2 infected. I made a bunch of teams lose from time to time and I lol'd hard at their rage. "Hey man, I'm new at this, trolololol". I take my games personally. I invest a lot of my time and energy and thought into them, and I'm not really getting paid for it, nor is it bringing me anything but a bad name and complete isolation. I have to win. I have to beat someone. I have to stop losing. Like I said, you don't have to win. Just get better, focus on that and only that.

mAc Chaos Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Yeah, winning is relative. If you play Spark, you'll get destroyed no matter what, so your standard for success there would just be how bad you lose. If you play a beginner, then winning isn't going to say much for your skills. You should be focusing on things in the match to improve on, step by step, instead of whether there's a win or a loss. Those improvements will end up with a win eventually anyway. But you should also be giving your opponent credit. It's not like the result of the match is ALL your doing: there's another player trying to take you down, so it's only natural that if they played way more than you or have more experience that you're going to have a harder time. If you fight someone who plays ten times more than you, then it only makes sense that they're going to beat you more. It doesn't mean you were bad, it just means they're farther ahead than you. You shouldn't be outraged if you lose; what kind of game would it be if someone plays way more than you but they gain no improvement of skill or difference in outcome from it? That would just be a shallow game. Like tic tac toe. If you play that game for a day, against someone that played it for ten years, it wouldn't make a difference. Other games that are more deep give you way more return on your investment, so if someone invested more they should be getting more out of it.
Star-Demon Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 start by playing all challengers instead of making invite only rooms That's so I can practice more than play. You know, the reason I was streaming this special chat challenge thing .
Errol Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 I feel like Star would benefit from just playing Ranked some personally...
mAc Chaos Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 You should also spend less time talking about it and more time just playing. Every time I see some beginner here they spend 90% of their time twisting themselves into a pretzel trying to justify their losses and making excuses instead of just saying "welp I fucked up" and getting back into the game.
Mucky Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 start by playing all challengers instead of making invite only rooms I will add: when making rooms for anyone to join, godlike room names such as "society of wang" are best at attracting wild challengers
Kriegdrache Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 I will add: when making rooms for anyone to join, godlike room names such as "society of wang" are best at attracting wild challengers Boner fortress! Also, Mac, please marry me.
Star-Demon Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 I feel like Star would benefit from just playing Ranked some personally... I don't want to be reminded of my 1% win rate in a world of 90+% win rates.
