Tsubasa Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Since a danisen won't take all day, I wonder if we'll have enough people and character variety at NCD to do a P4U 13v13. Cause that would be pretty cool.
Dakanya Posted July 20, 2012 Author Posted July 20, 2012 (edited) A 13v13 would be pretty awesome. For anyone interested, the Facebook and Twitter pages are now live. http://twitter.com/norcaldogfight http://facebook.com/norcaldogfight Edited July 21, 2012 by Dakanya
Eggs&Rice Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 The last NCD was questionable, from looking at the stream. So was it a different take of the Round Robin, where the loser stays on instead of the winner? And I do hope that it won't be a permanent rule for the tournament.
Dakanya Posted July 22, 2012 Author Posted July 22, 2012 (edited) It was a kumite. Win or lose, the person fights everyone until there's no one left to fight. It was on stream which means it was recorded so they can go back later to study and analyze their matches. It's not a tournament, it's just another type of fighting game event. Since Manabe is new, we thought this would be great for beginners. I agree that long sets of casuals would be helpful for newcomers. So, with that cool head to head and stream setup, maybe we should randomly select one person from the 1 Dan league for a kumite, versus everyone else that happens to be at GameCenter at the time (best 2 of 3 matches) with color commentary, perhaps with someone pointing out where each person is going wrong so they can refer to the stream video later. I think that would be cool. We'll call it Nor-Cal Boot Camp. Example: Edited July 22, 2012 by Dakanya
magz Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 (edited) Videos are now uploaded to YouTube. Individual Links: Setup/Pre-Kumite GG Casuals Guilty Gear Kumite #1 - Clark Pre-Gundam GG Casuals Gundam Extreme Versus Team Tournament 6v6 Guilty Gear Exhibition Match - Fred/Ernest as Captains Spelunky Multiplayer Co-Op/Deathmatch I probably missed a lot of the names for commentary so if anyone actually cares let me know. Notes regarding the stream: Thanks to everyone who watched and chatted up on stream last night. I realize there were issues specifically related to dropped frames/lag. I'm looking into some improvements which may help along those lines. A big thanks to everyone came out and participated yesterday. The kumite was really interesting, the EXVS tournament made me salty in a good way, Ernest's commentary during the GG exhibition had me dying of laughter and the Spelunky multiplayer was godlike - all in all a really fun event. Mayftw Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 I assume the next NCD is at the 8/21...? If so, I want to do an EFZ kumite.
Dakanya Posted July 24, 2012 Author Posted July 24, 2012 that's a Tuesday... unless you were talking about 3 days ago... lol. as for an EFZ kumite, you're free to run it but I don't know about streaming it since the next NCD will have P4U as well. see how many interested players you can get first imo
Mayftw Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Oh I meant to ask NCD is on the 3rd Saturday of each month. I remember reading it somewhere, but I would appreciate some confirmation. If so, then I assume the next NCD is at 8/18?
Dakanya Posted July 25, 2012 Author Posted July 25, 2012 yeah it is every 3rd Sat and the next one will be 8/18.
YawningGlory Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 I really need to make it out to one of these, if not just to shoot around with some non-internet people.
Dakanya Posted August 2, 2012 Author Posted August 2, 2012 The more the merrier :o I've announced this before but at the next Dogfight on Aug 18, we'll be having Persona as well. There will be casuals all day for every game but regarding the stream, this is the schedule I have in mind, please feel free to give your input. Tentative stream and tournament schedule http://twitch.tv/NorcalDogfight 3pm~6pm: Gundam and Guilty Gear, we'll be switching off between them 6pm~: Persona 4 danisen and 2on2 team battle (double elim, bo1, Waseda SBO-style?) Gundam and Guilty Gear is going to be whatever we feel like doing based on how many numbers we have and we'll switch between them once or twice on stream. After that it'll be all Persona. We did a cost-bracket-round-robin format for Gundam once and Lark has thought of a new format for Gundam where we draft every suit in the game... Any input, feedback, suggestions, comments, or questions are welcome!
rivals Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Time works really well for me. Will be there around 4 or 5 or something.
tastylumpia Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Will be there. Does KOF..... still exist? ?___?
YawningGlory Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Haha, I will actually be at this one! I think I've been to GC exactly once since the game dropped last winter due to not being in-state half the time. LMK if I need to bring my copy/PS3.
Oiboi Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 I'm hopefully gonna make it this weekend. Lemme know if we still need stream graphics or whatever.
Kijiyama Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I'll probably show up after work. Like around 9pm?
Tari Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I want to make it to this, but that's probably not going to happen. Still a bit sick, and that's the day I drive back from WA.
Chun Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I will try to make it this Saturday, I want to play more P4A.
Mayftw Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 I'll probably show up after work. Like around 9pm? ^ This. As always, I'm always down to play EFZ and Dominion. But if anybody is willing to learn RACE, then I would be happy to teach you.
haketh Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 I might come out this weekend, really wanna level up in P4.
Aginor Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 I'll be there earlier on in the day. I have to leave later on due to some personal business that I have to take care of.
Dakanya Posted August 15, 2012 Author Posted August 15, 2012 @YawningGlory: You won't need to bring your copy/PS3, thanks for offering! Hope to see you there. @Oiboi: We're good on stream graphics, thanks though. Just a reminder, there will be casuals all day but danisen time will be limited and we'll have teams afterwards! Thanks for posting everyone!
haketh Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 How late does the venue stay open and do casuals go down after the Danisen?
