00Bubbles00 Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I paid $345ish CAN for the 25th aniv stick (31600yen grand total).... paypal.... sucks... and the exchange rate ain't great either at the moment. Ugh I hope I like it lol.
Solless Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 (edited) I just checked and paypal's current exchange rate for japanese yen is 96JPY PayPal exchange rate: 1 USD = 96.3595 JPY So if my math is right I will currently pay $74.51, not including fees or anything. Now I just have to worry about the time it will take for the shipping :<. Dammit Kurushii, now you have me paranoid about when I'll get it from AmiAmi. Edited October 16, 2013 by Solless
Kurushii Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 The odds are higher that the majority of players will get their game on the Monday after from AmiAmi. My LE is ordered through them but I'm also getting digital because I want it now and I want better load times. Let's hope another mega Pokemon doesn't use surf against Japan. ;~;
Solless Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Hope they'll let me cancel then since they haven't taken any money out yet.
Kurushii Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Hope they'll let me cancel then since they haven't taken any money out yet. You can, just don't make a habit of it or they might refuse service with you.

Moy_X7 Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Hope they'll let me cancel then since they haven't taken any money out yet. Same here, this whole currency exchange business is making me paranoid. I can't afford to spend too much money in games when I'm already in the red. If you find out how to cancel your order, Solless, let me know. Best I could do was change my payment method from PayPal to my card lol.
Kurushii Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Holy shit bubbles ... whered you buy it from O.o I question the same. Nippon-yasan has it listed for 22,700 yen.
CrisisEdge Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Be more worried of PayPal's bad jpy to usd rates. For example my ToS order recently from AmiAmi: Subtotal: 5,910 JPY Shipping: 1,200 JPY Grand total: 7,110 JPY PayPal exchange rate was: Exchange rate: 1 USD = 94.4416 JPY So I paid: $75.29 USD AmiAmi themselves don't do anything bad to the customers like Playasia when it comes to rates. So these exchange rates are because of paypal? If I use an american credit card will the price have the same jump or will it be the normal price shown on play-asia after shipping and everything is added?
Kurushii Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 If you are going through PayPal then it's their conversion rates. If you aren't going through PayPal, and are using your CC then it'll be your CC companies conversion rates.
CrisisEdge Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 So the conversion isnt already done by play-asia? When im at the final screen looking at my payment price its in USD and it doesnt mention any additional payments. Are these extra "*" payments that just happen separate from the order?

I'm speaking toward sites that list prices in Yen. Playasia is already converted and marked up. Unless you are using a foreign currency not listed on their site.

Though I just submitted it a couple of hours ago.
Rorshock520 Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 (edited) Hey Kurushii, I was just reading your (awesome and thorough) importing guide. After I made my Tenso account, it gave me my "Japanese address" via email. It's telling me that before I start having stuff shipped to the address to confirm my identity and US address (by uploading scans of my documents or whatever). I never really intend on having stuff shipped to that address, so here's my question: Do I need to verify my identity in order to "use" my Japanese address to set up a JP PSN account? Or can I just leave it unverified and use the address on PSN? Thanks for the guide and being patient with importing noobs like me! Edited October 17, 2013 by Rorshock520
Kurushii Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 If you don't plan to have stuff shipped to the address then it's fine to use without verifying it. Just when shipping stuff it's now required by law.
Kurushii Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Right now I've sent in a email through the 'contact us' button. Just waiting for them to get back. Though I just submitted it a couple of hours ago. That's the only way. They normally respond back in 24 hours or less.

Though I just submitted it a couple of hours ago. Let me know when and if they get back at you. I was reading through their FAQ and it seems that they only cancel orders in special cases. Then again, they haven't pulled the money out of your account yet nor do they have the item in-stock yet so it shouldn't be much of a problem for them to cancel it.

You might want to go ahead and try it. I mean, if you wait too long for me waiting too long for them to get back to me, it might already be too late for you cancel your own order.
00Bubbles00 Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 I question the same. Nippon-yasan has it listed for 22,700 yen. Shipping was 8900yen for EMS. I'm curious if it is actually that heavy.
Solless Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 (edited) Shipping was 8900yen for EMS. I'm curious if it is actually that heavy. The hell, 8900!? ....Oh wait the anniversary stick. It could very well be. Edit: Moy, I just got an email back and they cancelled my order. Though said to keep future cancellations to a minimum. Edited October 17, 2013 by Solless
Moy_X7 Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Sweet, I'll cancel my order as soon as I get home lol
DSveno Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Question. Does the NA version has been confirmed to come with Terumi code for pre-order version? I checked Play-Asia but I don't see it's mentioned anywhere, and I don't have any other option for pre-ordering aside from Play-Asia.
Solless Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 (edited) NA version doesn't, as far as we know, have a concrete release date yet, much less any preorder bonuses yet. Most recent news that I know of is that they announced an LE. Including most of the asian LE (the soundtrack, the nedoroid, and the artbook), and something about a 'mysterious 4th item'. Errol Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 i'm on the fence on whether I should cancel my amiami order and go for play asia fedex, or go for the digital copy. oddly the digital copy is expensive if you don't split it.
mAc Chaos Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 How much is it US wise? And how much compared to just ordering it?
