SoWL Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Exactly, he's best friends with the main character of part 4, Jotaro. Josuke and Okuyasu are sidekicks. O I C. I had an inquiry for SoWL and/or Pete. I still had a hard time understanding this excerpt from one of the old articles on Famitsu that talked about the battle system, specifically about how Stylish Move is initiated. Mainly because this article was early info and didn't really tell you much on how things work exactly. http://www.famitsu.com/news/201209/13020986.html "相手の攻撃をタイミングよくガードするとポーズを決めて華麗に攻撃を避ける"スタイリッシュムーブ"が発動" I'm of the opinion that it works something like Just Defend or Perfect Guarding. Did we ever get any confirmation on how you're supposed to initiate Stylish Move? Sounds like just pressing back with parry-like timing. I was hoping it would also require pressing the Dodge button in tandem. All it's saying is that it should be performed at correct timing. I'm not sure if any of the demo reports had any info on how to perform it, but there should be no dedicated Dodge button: only Weak, Medium, Strong and Style.
MikeStrider Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 The regular dodge mechanic (foreground/background sway) is assigned to the X Button by default. Maybe "Dodge" isn't the correct terminology for it. http://www.famitsu.com/images/000/021/004/50500dc28627c.html
SoWL Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Oh yeah, you're right. I guess that simply going back and forth on the Z axis doesn't give you the advantage that Stylish Move does, and to do that, you must do it with just timing.
MikeStrider Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 I bring this up cause I was a bit worried Stylish Move would come out too easily when you're on the defensive. But I guess we'll see when we can get a better idea on how the systems are.
SoWL Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Some more tidbits, as translated by MikeStrider: http://blog.livedoor.jp/jyojyo_soku/archives/25823333.html ・Koichi - CV: Romi Park Park also seems to voice Echoes. Echoes Act 3 can force the opponent into a crouching state. Echoes can be controlled remotely. ・Akira - CV: Showtaro Morikubo In Morioh Town there's a stage gimmick where you can get knocked down by lightning. Akira alone can recover his "Electric Power" gauge when getting hit by it.
Pete278 Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Does that mean Echoes will play more like Polnareff/Kakyoin/Abdul in Heritage style where you can move him away from Koichi, or will he play like a puppet/doll user?
MikeStrider Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 I was assuming the former, but at this point your guess is as good as mine.
Jugun Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 (edited) I think all the stand users play with the stand system for tandem attacks along with their gimmick, for people who don't have autonomous stands like Hol Horse I guess his own playstyle,I know I'm gonna have fun freezing people with Echos Edited April 20, 2013 by Jugun

MikeStrider Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 (edited) Re-posting some stuff I put up in the JJBA community forums. More Machi Asobi event news http://www.machiasobi.com/events/bannam.html Namco Bandai will have a big presence. Not just with ASB but also with Taiko Drum Master and God Eater 2. There will be game stations and visuals for the games on-hand at the festival as well as at the nearby CC2 Store in Tokushima. CC2 president and director of ASB Matsuyama will also be around. Game stations are up from "5/3 @noon - 5/5 @4pm". And the bigger news. http://www.machiasobi.com/events/bannamcc2.html There will be a stage presentation 12/4 noon Japan time. 12/3 8pm US west coast time. Hiroshi Matsuyama will be there alongside some of the Namco Bandai producers. They even described Matsuyama as "the guy who can't stop talking about JoJo's". Now this won't be totally about ASB, there's other games at this event here, but I'm expecting good things. PV5, anyone? Guest producers Yusuke Tomizawa (God Eater series) Noriaki Niino (ASB) Hideo Baba (Tales series) I'm gathering that the event won't be as closely guarded and photography isn't banned. At least I haven't seen signs of that yet. And blonde Koichi. http://i.imgur.com/7vLtXe0.jpg Edited April 24, 2013 by MikeStrider
MikeStrider Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 (edited) No PV at the event, but they said there will be one next month. The demo over the weekend is an updated version of the one from 2/16, no newer characters were added to it. There's not much to it but a source from 2ch should be making a report about it soon. Details from the show. To be clear, they referred to this show as a "talk show". The next new character reveals will be from Part 2 and Part 4. Seeing as how it's "All Star", a lot of content from every Part will be in the game. All of the playable characters are finished, they're now in the final Bug Checking phase of development. The next PV will show the culmination of everything up to this point. (meaning all of what we've seen, not the full game) The Director was saying "It's fun to get reactions from people when I pick this or that character." (Just trying to explain the excitement you feel when selecting characters to show off) Details on new characters will appear in Jump and Ultra Jump at least once every month. The system is very much like JoJo (cryptic) Work on the project originally began 7 years ago. :D Edited May 4, 2013 by MikeStrider
Le Shad Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Can't wait for the new PV, and hopefully more tidbits soon.

SoWL Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Great, I was worried when there was no update yesterday. Will translate it today, but a bit later (got some spring cleaning going on).
MikeStrider Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 (edited) I actually just finished mine. But let me know if anything looks wonky. I did this in 3 1/2 hours without sleeping yet. Koichi Hirose - CV: Romi Park Battle Style: Stand (Echoes) Making his debut in Part IV. Awakened as a Stand User after receiving “The Arrow” from Keicho Nijimura. His Stand can evolve to Act 2 and Act 3 to match his mental growth. Act 1 can create sound effects and attach them to any surface/object, and subsequently make the sound it creates repeat itself. In Act 2, the sound effects are only created from the tail, and by touching the created sound effect with the tail the user increases its effectiveness. And finally, Act 3 has the ability to add weight to objects it hits, increasing their gravity. Special Attack: “The sound of cicadas goes through stone” (Transliteration; Researching the Japanese line referred me to a common spring haiku) Attacking with ACT1’s tail, numerous sound effects appear over one another, quite literally it’s telling the opponent to “soak it up!”. Special Attack: “Dojuuu” *sizzle* ACT2 throws this “sizzling” sound effect into the enemy, and when hit the opponent receives fire damage. Throw “Dohyuuu” *whoo~sh* The opponent is grabbed while ACT2 releases the *whooooosh* sound effect, literally sweeping the enemy off their feet. Counter Attack “Dogg~on” *booo~m* (kinda) Koichi charges the sound effect for a shockwave within himself, it releases on the enemy if they attack him. Special Attack: “Boyo-yo~n” *Bou~nce* ACT2 leaves the sound effect for “bouncing” on the floor. If the opponent passes over it, they get sent flying upward. Special Attack: “S-H-I-T” (ACT3. I can’t wait to hear this from Romi Park) Special Attack: “What’s with this air pressure!?” While in Body Mode, ACT3 comes out very quickly and sends out a shockwave to blast the opponent away. You also take some damage, but the opponent is sent further away from you. Special Attack: “Beat them, ACT 3!” Special Attack: “I can’t forgive you” Unique Attack: “Stop I~t!” Taunt (Yes, hmm..) Heart Heat Attack: “Echoes 3 FREEZE!!” The damage of the move itself is low, but it weights down the opponent forcing them into a crouching positiong for a certain period of time, so their movement is limited. After the pre-determined time elapses, the opponent is released. Caution though, even though there’s ample time, the opponent has some capacity to reduce the amount of time their stuck crouching. Great Heat Attack: “Did I really show some growth??” A continuous attack performed by all three ACTS. Starts off with ACT1’s sound effect attack. Then, ACT2 intensifies the previous sound attack to further the damage. Finally, it ends with a physical attack from ACT3 while saying “get heavy”, applying all damage at once. Akira Otoishi - CV: Showtaro Morikubo Battle Style: Stand (Red Hot Chili Pepper) Making his debut in Part IV, he was given Stand power from Keicho Nijimura, but Akira killed him, took the Bow and Arrow, and started making more Stand Users. His Stand, Red Hot Chili Pepper, absorbs electricity and can move any place where there is a power supply. It is a remote Stand, yet it can become quite powerful if it absorbs enough electricity. Unique Move: “Charge” Akira has a special “Electric Power” gauge above his HH meter. His performance changes depending on how much the gauge is filled by. If the gauge is at 0%, it has to be recovered or else he can’t use his Stand. With this unique move, he takes out a battery to charge his electrical power. It can be used at will when needed. Special Attack: “Spit Fire” Calls out his RC plane, and RHCP comes down from it to attack. Unique Taunt: “Light Hand Method” A special taunt for accumulating his HH gauge. Special Attack: “I’m closing in on you!” After grabbing onto the opponent, releases a torrent of electricity at the both of you. Counter Attack: “Aim here! Right here” Taunts the opponent, and and if attacked RHCP blows back at them. Special Attack: “The power of a jet engine!” Attacks the opponent with overwhelming power. Special Attack: “Upon reflection, I’m strong...” Additional attack after “The power of a jet engine!”. Sends the opponent flying with a direct attack. Special Attack: “I’d like to see a knock ou~~~t!!” Additional attack after “The power of a jet engine!” A big wind-up attack that hits from overhead. Special Attack: “High level Whack-A-Mole” Throw: “Increase the power!” (Normal Throw) Taunt Heart Heat Attack: “I only need this little finger to beat you!” An electrified RHCP closes in on the opponent from the ground, the final blow is an uppercut with his pinky. Great Heat Attack: “I’m getting de~spera~~~te!” A Stand Rush at impressive speed. Akira starts playing guitar, while his Stand performs a continuous rush of attacks from all directions. The opponent meets with a singular strong attack at the end. Akira finishes playing after the attack is over, and he is just in his own world with an “entranced” look on his face. Morioh Town Stage As previously reported, there are stage gimmicks in many stages. A “Lightning Strike” hazard can be triggered near a downed sign board. (lol, Bepsi) After Rohan (!) reads in Hayato’s memory (!) about lighning strikes, he is surprised to say the least, lightning falls after this moment. This scene is sure to make fans smile. Lightning strikes randomly in 3 locations in the stage, and deals shock damage if you’re struck. However if RHCP is hit by lightning, Akira’s “Electric Power” gauge recovers. SoWL Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Huh, three hours? I thought it was uploaded just two hours ago. Anyways, here are my translations, with a little extra effort of making the move names as close to the manga translations as possible. Though some of them might still be wrong, of course. Hirose Koichi Battle style: Stand (Echoes) CV: Romi Paku A character featured in part 4. He became a stand user after getting hit by Nijimura Keicho’s “Arrow”. His Stand, Echoes, evolved along with Koichi’s mental state into Act 2, and then into Act 3. Act 1 has the ability to put a sound (its onomatopoeia) on an object to make it sound over and over again. Act 2 can improve this sound by shaping it out of its tail, causing it to activate the effect of the sound whenever it’s touched. Lastly, the self-aware Act 3 has the ability to make things it hits heavier. Special move: “In lonely silence, // A single cicada’s cry // sinking into stone” By attacking with Act 1’s tail, it produces lots of sound effects which are literally “absorbed” by opponent’s body! Special move: Boosh Act 2 throws the letters with its tail, lighting the opponent on fire when it hits. Throw: Whoosh Act 2 puts the “Whoosh” sound on the opponent, and they get literally blown away. Counter-move: Kablam By putting the “Kablam” sound on himself, Koichi can blow the opponent away when attacked. Special move: Boyoyo~ing Act 2 puts a sound on the ground. If the opponent steps on it, they get bounced upwards. Special move: S-H-I-T Special move: Where did all this wind come from!? Act 3 instantly moves before Koichi, blowing both parties away. Though this move deals damage to Koichi, too, it gives a lot of breathing room. Special move: Eat this! Act 3! Special move: I’m not going to forgive you Command normal: Stooop! Taunt Heart Heat Attack: Hissatsu “Echoes 3 FREEZE!!” Though the damage of the attack is low, it forces the opponent to crouch for a certain period of time, limiting their movements. Note that the effect also wears off if Koichi gets too far away from the opponent. Great Heat Attack: Does that mean I got stronger again!? A combo attack that is performed by each Act of Echoes. First, Act 1 attacks the enemy with the sounds, then Act 2 hits them with its tail, and finally, Act 3 delivers a “heavy” physical attack! Otoishi Akira Battle style: Stand (Red Hot Chili Pepper) CV: Showtaro Morikubo A character featured in part 4. After having his Stand awakened by Nijimura Keicho, he killed him and took his bow and arrow to try and make more Stand users. Red Hot Chili Pepper is an electric Stand that can move anywhere where there is electricity. Even though it’s a remote Stand, it can become very powerful if it accumulates enough electricity. Special move: Charge Akira Otoishi has a special electricity gauge which affects Red Hot Chili Pepper’s moves. If the electricity gauge hits 0%, you cannot use your Stand until it recovers to a certain extent. By the way, he also has a special move to recover the electricity gauge by absorbing it from some batteries. Special move: Spitfire Akira summons a remote-controlled airplane to drop his Stand onto the enemy. Special taunt: One-handed Tapping A special taunt that charges the Heart Heat gauge. Special move: You were the one that moved! After grabbing the enemy, Akira hits them with a strong electric current. Counter-move: Right here, alright? Right here! Red Hot Chili Pepper provokes the enemy by pointing at its face, dealing damage after getting hit. Special move: Like a jet engine exploding Red Hot Chili Pepper attacks the opponent with overwhelming power! Special move: After I learn from my mistakes… I get stronger A follow-up to “Like a jet engine exploding” that blows the enemy away after a careful aim. Special move: Blow away the whole world… A follow-up to “Like a jet engine exploding”; an overhead swing with a fist. Special move: Whack-a-Mole on Expert Mode Normal throw: Change into electricity! Taunt Heart Heat Attack: I’m gonna blow off your arm by just using this pinky! The opponent is hit by the electricity channeled through the ground, and then blown away with a pinky uppercut! Great Heat Attack: I gotta get serious! Red Hot Chili Pepper rushes forward at high speed! When it hits the opponent, it swiftly hits the opponent from every direction and finishes off with a haymaker, while Akira plays his guitar in the background (with a sigh of adoration in the end!?).
MikeStrider Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 (edited) Ah, thanks for that. The latter half of Koichi's HHA description had went over my head. The famitsu link popped up on 2ch at about 4AM PST this morning. Edited May 9, 2013 by MikeStrider
SoWL Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 (edited) And this week's newcomer is... Cars! Quick, people, act surprised! There's also some new info on the system: Situation Finish: In certain stages, you can finish an opponent in a certain way and a special cutscene is triggered. Joseph's fight with Wham is pictured. Rush Mode: Something similar to Blazing Fist matches. AND CUSTOMIZE, not only for costumes, but for your character's poses and lines. At the bottom it says "There will be something special presented next issue. Wait and "wiiin wiiiin"." I guess having only one character this week doesn't hurt much if they have something to reveal next week, too. EDIT: You guys still have the surprised expression on you? Good, because this time it's genuine: http://i.imgur.com/tsBw6ij.jpg Edited May 15, 2013 by SoWL
MikeStrider Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Here's a high quality version of the Cars scan. http://www.imagebam.com/image/7dd036254686214
