No, no, no. Did you see Sakura, that combo movie? It has two or three combos showing that if you hit your opponent in a certain way with C Moujuu, you can follow it up for free. And I did that on accident.

i actually got that kind of hit with the D version earlier today. Sadly it isn't possible to follow up on the D version but it was still cool. Sad part is if I was playing correctly instead of just being mentally disabled(I read a mitsuru DP and decided to just super during the startup of the DP) and done C version I would have gotten the followup.

I do have the replay saved but it really just shows how retarded I am when playing online.

Hello all. I'm attempting to copy fubarduck's training series somewhat, learning every character at a beginner/beginner-mid level, and Labrys is first on my list. I've been lurking all the character forums for a while now, so I don't have many questions. I do have an answer to a question (almost) nobody asked, though.

Someone had asked in the Q&A Thread, at what axe levels does Labrys' D Super become worthwhile over the C? Ideally you always want to use the D Super only when in Red Axe, but not every matchup gives Labrys much of a chance to get or keep Red.

With that in mind, I did a quick test in Training just now, to see how much damage Laby's Weaver's Beast did at each axe level to a standing, unAwakened Yu (as if that matters). This is off of a raw hit first, then off a simple 2B > hjB > jC > j214A ender where possible.

Gray Axe_Level_1.png

C - Raw, 1776. Combo, no dice. Might be my lack of execution, though.

D - Raw, 2350. Combo, 2451.

1528 on an Awakened opponent.

Blue Axe_Level_2.png

C - Raw, 1848. Combo, 2412.

D - Raw, 2491. Combo, 2817.

Green Axe_Level_3.png

C - Raw, 1920. Combo, 2731.

D - Raw, 2640. Combo, 3181.

Yellow Axe_Level_4.png

C - Raw, 2136. Combo, 3102.

D - Raw, 3070. Combo, 3781.

Red Axe_Level_5.png (I know, why bother? For completeness sake, I suppose. And practice on that staple air combo + ender.)

C - Raw, 2640. Combo, 3757.

D - Raw, 4080. Combo, 4957.

Conclusion? Not much of one: this test doesn't contain any major surprises. :v: The damage from a Red Axe 'Mojuu' is so far above and beyond all the rest, you're best off shooting for it whenever possible. Everybody already knew this, but I guess it's nice to have some solid numbers to go off of. If you're at the end of a round and someone is below 1500 health, though, you might as well D Super anyway, even if you just did and are in Gray Axe. Even the autocombo into D still does 1849 normally, 1156 in Awakening, which is, often enough, less than they have after a 'proper' Red Axe into 236236D.

On the topic mentioned before about least favorite matchups, in recent times I've found a new character that I hate playing against as labrys so much that when I find them online, I just turn the system off. This character is just so fucking overpowered it's not even funny. labrys mirror matchup is stupid and should be removed from the game.

Yeah, you can definitely still combo that. If it works at green axe, it'll work below green axe as well. The only combos that don't follow that rule are combos that require axe levels to change mid-combo.

Also, the D super also has about 350~1200 minimum damage difference when compared to the C super. So if a combo is prorated to all hell at red axe, you'll still get an extra 1200 damage just because of the D super's minimum damage. Chances are you won't be comboing into D super at grey axe (hard to stay at grey when you're doing a combo, after all), but at green axe, it's still only a bonus 450 minimum damage. That difference only becomes really noticeable at red axe. At yellow, it's still only a 680 difference or so.

Labrys mirror is 6-4 in Red Axe's favor.

i have green axe, she has red, we trade 5a counterhits, i know i just lost the match.

Only 6-4? more like 7-3. You get the damage AND the intimidation factor thats balls in this game

It's always hilarious when a character has trouble fighting themselves. You'd think all mirror matches would be 5-5.

They are 5-5. Always. Universal law.

Labrys is a momentum character, though, so if it's not an even match, it's either lopsided or easy to turn the tables, so there are probably plenty of times it feels uneven.

But really, mirror matches in general are just silly and everyone should avoid them. Unless it's for humor, in which case, by all means.

I just use it to control space for a little while.

I find it good in some match-ups and really useless in others, but that's just my two cents. I dunno if that's actually true, haha.

So jD...How do you guys use it (if at all)?

I like it better to lock opponents in the corner so they can't super jump out, I occasionally at neutral but I rarely ever do it atm.
