This is messed up, if only because this particular type of copyright infringement is so fucking bullshit.

My EX combos, that Kotoba video that made me feel better whenever I was upset about repeatedly dropping combos... I'm gonna go cry in a corner now.

You know what pissing me off the most:

The artist who writes the song, and sings them, is only getting like 30% of all the records that are sold. the other 70% goes to the record company. and giving the fact the artist needs to promote his/her career to world, the artist must perfrom concert after concert. leaving him/her with a silly 10-12% of the money he/she gain from all the records that are sold.

The record company's claim that banning accounts on youtube will help out the artist in the end, but the artist still gets the same amout of money wheter or not those accounts got banned or not.

And there is a other *Hic* in this story:

If a artist manages to sell like 2 millon copies in a short period of time, you guys might think he/she will get rich right.

Well. NO

Because once a artist manages to sell 2 millon copies, the IRS kicks in, and demands that the artist pays like a 55% tax over all the copies that where sold over that short period of time.

Alot of artists got broke because of this, this sudden unfairness that makes me realy wonder if the artist is better off without his/her record company :vbang:

The biggest probleem right now, is teh sheer fact that record company's have make those records way too expesvie for the kids on the block to buy it. alot of kids don't even bother to buy the real singel for like 5-7 dollars when they can download them on the internet for free. Last time i read that the sells for singels have done down the drain because everyone was downloading it.

But ask yourself this question: if there wasn't any downloading doing on, will the artist get better?

My answer is no, because the record company's still get like 70% of the sells make, the artist is still on his/her all time low. And there is something else those record company's forget:

Wherever they like it or not, Youtube did promote alot of artists, in ways that wheren't possiple, and i realy do believe that the artist got promoten way better over youtube than he/she got promoten by the record company.

I think that guys such as michiel jackson and jaymiriqe (i don't know how to spell his name) will have much better sells, if that promote thier stuff on youtube, instead of trusting sony records to do thier promotion.

So TBH, banning accounts is not gonna help the artist getting better. If the artist wants to get better, than the record company's must stop being greedy, and make those record bloody payable for everyone!!! because 5-7 for just only 3-4 songs is wayyyy too much!

Downloading and uploading will always happen, yes Mr record company's, i'm talking towards you guys. wellcome to 2008 guys, stop being greedy and adjust yourself.

Now going for some breakfast.

EDIT: there is also something i wanna add:

maybe your guys still remenber the copyright tread i posted right.About this big argement i had with a friend of mine, well he still will not agreed with what i think, but i realy just do not care about it. Because he was downloading stuff in the internet, so in fact :

He is just as *Evil* as i am uploading stuff on photobucket. He even admitted towards me about it:

Well. even when i know that copyright is a good thing. and if i was a artist i would not like it when poeple where downloading/uploading my stuff for free. But i have to admitt here that i'm just as wrong as you are, because i did have download a awful lot of japanese songs on the internet. But i kinda wish you didn't upload stuff on websites because i do care about you, and i feared you might end up in jail or something. I geuss i just shut up and let you be right?? :psyduck:

Copyright is a good thing.. But wat amaze me the most is the fact that the artist doesn't own that copyright, it is owned by the record company :psyduck: . So TBH, i think the record company's are simpley missing the point here when they say they do this for the artist.... :psyduck:

I am sad at the loss of one of the many stress relievers I had when I wanted to relax. The combo videos you uploaded did a lot more than entertain, it informed, and also made it a haven of relief for me. You have done a great service to the Guilty Gear Community. Please start again you have done more good in that infinitesimal act then you probably know. Don't be missed.

That would be a great idea! rtl42 may I suggest something else, why not also upload filebank matches as well for those of us here at dustloop who get slow speeds/trouble getting it to work? Like maybe have the matches of up for a week(or whatever timeframe you prefer) and then delete them after that time? I personally don't have a problem with filebank but Im sure that others here do. This might be too much of a hassle for you so hey its cool if that doesn't go well.

I would like those matches please if possible.

I've always re-uploaded matches on request, you guys just have to ask. However, if you're just interested in watching the matches on YouTube (and don't care about having them on your hard drive), you should bookmark/subscribe to this guy:

http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=bigooooooohh

He has lots of vids, and most are uploaded shortly after they're posted on the original hosting site.

... Admittedly, it's a bit of a dump, as most of the videos that are older than the last few TRF RanBats, and the G3 23on matches, are unlabelled... but still!

btw, could you reupload the crimson combo movie to stroke the big tree? I've asked but saw no reply and only just now saw that TB requested it and did get a reply.

stuff

you know, it's funny, I was about to post a long paragraph on this same exact subject (look to where I posted earlier), but decided it wasn't the right place...

I guess it don't matter now! =D

The music industry shouldn't be surprised when their greedy profit margins spurred a movement to obsolete them. And like a spoiled child, they continue to try and re-establish complete control, not realizing how futile it is, and still ignorant of how their own actions are to blame for their losses.

I'm still in disbelief that an account was deleted because of a god damn combo video and its music. That's really, really sad.

I was reading their TOS... I don't think this will help the situation any, but you may want to look into it.

B. Counter-Notice. If you believe that your User Submission that was removed (or to which access was disabled) is not infringing, or that you have the authorization from the copyright owner, the copyright owner's agent, or pursuant to the law, to post and use the content in your User Submission, you may send a counter-notice containing the following information to the Copyright Agent:

  • Your physical or electronic signature;
  • Identification of the content that has been removed or to which access has been disabled and the location at which the content appeared before it was removed or disabled;
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief that the content was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or a misidentification of the content; and
  • Your name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address, a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in San Francisco, California, and a statement that you will accept service of process from the person who provided notification of the alleged infringement.
  • If a counter-notice is received by the Copyright Agent, YouTube may send a copy of the counter-notice to the original complaining party informing that person that it may replace the removed content or cease disabling it in 10 business days. Unless the copyright owner files an action seeking a court order against the content provider, member or user, the removed content may be replaced, or access to it restored, in 10 to 14 business days or more after receipt of the counter-notice, at YouTube's sole discretion.

Okay, well that account took MANY hours of work I'm sure; I'm really sorry you have to deal with this crap. Looks like I'll be backing up my account asap. Sad to see probably the best overall YouTube Channel for fighting game videos go. :(

Didn't this same thing happen to somebody a while back, burningvigor I think? I remember somebody saying in that thread "oh well, there's always flimzee" lol. thx youtube. It was also brought up then that the main reason they'd do this is to get anal about reasons to free up their bandwidth/space by going after people with 1000+ videos that the general population doesn't care much about. The copyright thing is just an excuse. edit: I imagine the same thing will happen to accounts like TheShend's, he has the most 3S videos on youtube from what I can tell.

=( thanks for the sympathy guys. as stupid as it sounds i feel like there is a void in my heart =(

If you search for "[GGXX #Reload] 01" and keep increasing the number up to 66, you'll be able to watch Nemo, Koichi and Ogawa play against Shonen and Ruu. Then again it's #R, how many people will actually still be interested to watch?

all of those accounts are so big their damned near un-navigable, and they are all in japanese. Any hint as how to find things quicker? Also, would it be a good idea to have an account for every character as to avoid this fiasco again? US/English speaking communitty of course.
