2d while active on frame 1, is only active for 8 frames, and it's recovery is as long as Hazama's jayoku (34 frames).

6d is also active on frame 1, lasts 9 frames, and recovers for 26 frames, which is longer than ragna's hells fang followup on block (24 frames).

jd is active on frame 1, lasts 7 frames, and recovers for the entire time he's falling PLUS an additional 12 frames of recovery after he lands.

5d active on the 5th frames, lasts 15 frames, and recovers for 13 (which is one frame less than bang's 3c). If anything this is his strongest counter, and in some cases is a better AA than his actual AA.

I don't see how his counters are "impossible to punish" and "op" as some of you put it, especially with mAc's info as well.

If you run up to him trying to do mixup while he counters, you won't get hit, if you run up... and block instead.

So you just sit there and wait for his invincibility to end after you block it? So it seems pretty much like now unless they let you punish an activated counter.

They are impossible to punish once they activate, which is what I assume people have an issue with.

I haven't said they were impossible to punish when the counter whiffed, only when the counter is actually activated. I'm only talking about how they create situations where a character essentially permanently loses a tool because if they DO use it, any half-way decent player will just press 2D a couple times to completely nullify it.

Other than that, they're fine. They don't give too much reward, they aren't too hard to bait, it's the fact that by having it he takes away things from other characters without any work.

Didn't...shouldn't people just take more care to...not activate them?

Yeah it just stops you from getting hurt by it, it doesn't affect the defense part. Although countering projectiles is one of the ways Hakumen has of turning the tables, when you've got him locked down the entire time but throw out a projectile too close.

I don't see what's wrong with being invincible during a counter activation; you shouldn't be punished for countering successfully, or it would be even riskier to try. I can see the side effects it has, but you need the invincibility.

Even with those setups, like the kind Carl and Mu have (not sure about Litchi) you have ways to deal with the counter by slightly altering your timing.

I'm the only person who ever looked at Hakumen's counters like any other DP.

Just can't derp on the pressure.

His counters already got nerfed into the ground ages ago. ALLOW ME TO CHRONICLE

CT: He did around 5k off his counters, and they were the quickest.

CS1: He got a j.D buff, but his other counters took a proration hit. Average damage was 4-5k if you spent 4 stars, but otherwise a normal combo would do 3k.

CS2: j.D buff removed, his counters got proration reduced AGAIN, however he gets a star when he lands a counter. (Actually, I forget if that was always the case.) Average damage is 2.5k.

EX: One more round of damage reduction. Average damage is 2k, you can get 3k for 3 stars off 6D.

Meanwhile, the punishment for a fuck up with your counter is still in the 3-5k range.

What more do you want from us. Take my FIRST BORN

Hakumen's counters gave him a star back in CS1 (no clue about CT, I joined the BB scene right when CS came out).

I, too, don't get why some people think its all that great. I noticed over time that I touch the D button less and less, and I get punished most times I attempt to use it (granted, I am pretty scrubby, so it could very well be user error). Right now, I see it only as a tool for trashing people who don't know what blocking is and just attack, or on the rare occasion that my opponent throws out a weird, easy-to-punish oki, iunno.

Famitsu seems to have some info on the new characters' backstories, and it has some stuff that wasn't mentioned before. I only have the reposts from JBBS, so it may not be that accurate. Still, here are the translations:

Amane:

Hearing the rumors about a pretty young vigilante, Amane searches for him to add him to his troupe of traveling actors.

Since this vigilante is Carl, they will have major roles in each other's story modes.

Amane is the first revealed member of the troupe, so it can serve as a good source of new characters in the future.

Bullet:

A member of the mercenary troops that were once fighting for Sector Seven. In order to reveal the truth behind their sudden peril, she chases after a certain Sector Seven member named Kokonoe.

Her story seems to be deeply involved with Sector Seven.

Azrael:

Once put into jail for committing a great crime, this uncontrollable soldier has now been released into Ikaruga after a particular order.

He is a cruel maniac who enjoys fights to the death.

He, too, is somehow connected to Sector Seven.

Amane: Um....ew.

Bullet: Huh, very interesting; wonder what her situation is?

Azrael: Well, that doesn't explain much.

QUESTION: Are the BGMs remade or remixed? The latest batch of vids from Isuna has audio of the match, amd watching the Bang vs Bullet match, for some reason what I can hear of Reppuu playing sounds different, but Im not sure. Could be the noise though.

Also, Bang sounds pretty serious from his battle quotes. AWESOME.

I'm wondering the same.

Also, sounds like Litchi has a different scream. And it's funny because it sounds like an orgasm lol.

Xbox will have this game?

Right now, it's confirmed for PS3 only. But we will see it on the Xbox 360 as well.

That's... unhealthy from Amane.

So, Bullet wants to leak details of atrocious stuff that involved Sector 7 in some random battlefield?

Azrael confirmed as sociopathic soldier right there.

Geting major Kimblee vibes from Azrael.

And Amane's now not only gay, but a pedophile to? Maximum ew.

Bang has a lot of work cut out for him.

That's not zoning, Tager can never be allowed to zone.

It is Tager's destiny to forever be bottom tier / on ArcSys' shitlist, just like Dizzy, Chipp, and Anji.

Neither Dizzy or Chipp are shit

And Anji was Top Tier in Slash, he just got the classic nerfbat on the next revision

He's going to fuck them up with those corner com-

Oh...

Also. I'm going to Rez the HakuHate at just say that the Drive is just too commanding. It punishes you hard for trying to mixup the opponent. Half the time I drop my combos on purpose and have a little :?: contest with my opponent. I get scared trying to do anything but airtight pressure strings and grabs. All of which can just be downbacked + Teched. I can't approach with D Nails because of that ridiculous pull. And then I fuck up and end up in the corner against Hakumen. Possibly the worst place to be in the entire game.

I just think, despite of only getting 3K at the most. The fact is makes the match boring as hell, slow and uninteresting it just...Lame?

Justified nerfs if I've ever seen any.

/Opinions.

Well, I don't really think that Hakumen's counter is really a problem... I mean, if you know that a Hakumen likes to counter a lot, you can always try to bait and grab. Then again, I can understand that Litchi gets bodied hard by it so... I don't really disagree with the nerfs either. Other than countering supers with 2D all day, I think that the other complaints are a bit much... I mean they aren't UNPUNISHABLE, you just have to grab him instead of throw an attack out during the counter and you're OK.

@ TagerTime

360 still goes to Gadget, but I see no 3C.

I think OD only forces magnetism.

You can combo into GP but not after.

My opinion regarding Zanshin. While the input is much more easy than other reversals, you still have to chipsen between high and low, they dont catch throws, and isn't rapid cancelable. If you're going to hate a reversal, hate ID.

You play each match-up diffrently anyway. Play Tager and see what a truly bad match-up is.

After all, dont we all like BB because of the unique characters and the unique match-ups that follos, unlike Same Fighter?

Regarding new sounds: indeed it sounds like the soundtrack got remixed. Hakumen is back to CT cheezy speak

Bang taking inspiration from the dub made me sad. Litchi and Platinum sounds younger...
